+rep and sub'd.. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have the uppermost respect for breeders who share and love what they do.

I agree totally, being a breeder means you have to make tough choices sometimes. Waiting for proper male, pollinating at the proper times and giving yourself enough plants to find your keepers and making sure the cross is stable enough etc... Thanks for this thread. It helps simplify breeding for many people whom never have befor. The first F1 i ever made was out of neccessity for seed, and the results drove me right into the addiction of breeding and genetics! I will have a few hybrids to post in the near future and hope to get Roll it Ups approvall as this has very quickly become my favorite forum as you may remember we used to occationally converse @ TY. Peace out Roll it up brothas and sistas, SENSI

i am almost finished w chernobyl x qrazy train, space bomb x qrazy train, and space bomb x my cut (an obscure cut most likely of the hindu kush linage). testing germ now on 3 of each at 5 weeks, all of my seeds had problems cracking the seams on the shells. i seperated the two halves and reset the paper towel method to my surprise all had tails within 5 hours, so they must have been waiting to get out. theyre all in the ground now and we shall see. also working on querkle x chernobyl and querkle x pink lady (one of the colorado test packs).

Hello Sub
May I see a picture of your males late in flower. I ask because I would like to see what a worthy male looks like, I have 1 JTR male, and 1 Sonic Fly male that grow nice.
I read in male selection articles that resin production is a trait to look for, but the male plants you posted around 2 weeks in are not that resin soaked.
Hmmmmm, basically I would like to know what I am looking for besides structure, nodal space, smell, and cluster size.
I am imagining resin soaked balls, is that right?

Just for the record no ones get to the point they dont like people saying thanks.
Its my one flaw with this site. I feel people dont see me as reg people and dont respond as often.
I wake and bake just like you guys and what you think of be means a lot!!

Compliments always welcome.

I know this was old, Sub, and as I've never been able to afford your beans I really appreciate this and your soil recipe thread, thank you for sharing with us what your years of work and experience have given you.

There are many schools of thought on this one many like A/B hybe and STP feel that using STS to reverse a clone and create a stress herm to out cross with or in Soma’s case he uses clones that have very late male flowers or naners. Don’t think we can’t do this JC and OV get .....

what do these mean A/B, STP, STS, JC, OV????

hey sub i got a question for you, i bought some weed a while ago and it had ALOT of seeds in it. It seemed like it could of been really good weed if it was grown right and didnt have all the seeds in it but it did get me very high (so i know it wasnt a male). Im guessing its a hermaphrodite?...Anyways i kept all the seeds from the buds and i was wondering if i grew out these seeds if they would be hermafadites like im guessing the mom was. thanks

Hey Sub,

I'd like to try my hand at breeding, but I'm not quite sure I fully understand the process. Could you please review the following procedures and let me know if my thought process will lead me to two stabalized phenos of a phnom phen X sour diesel breeding? Or am I over thinking the process and adding extra steps that are not needed?

PPM= Phnom Phen Male
PPF= Phnom Phen Female
SDM= Sour Diesel Male
SDF= Sour Diesel Female
Step 1
Breeding Name = NH1: PPM(Father) X SDF(Mother). Keep one male one female from breeding
Breeding Name = NH2: PPF(Father) X SDM(Mother). Keep one male one female from breeding
Step 2
Breed NH2 Female(Daughter) to NH1 Male(Son). Keep 1 Male and 1 Female
Breed NH1 Female(Daughter) to NH2 Male(Son). Keep 1 Male and 1 Female
Step 3
Breed both sons back to mother. Keep two males.
Step 4
Breed males kept from mother x son breeding, to the females from step 2

Sub- I have been a mostly silent follower of yours from the Oregon coast. I have been wanting to breed back some of your gear. I have succesfully crossed a few kush plants and wanted to cross either a chernobyl,Agent Orange or a JTR to my keeper kush. Well, your breeders are doing such a great job of growing that I can't find a male. Bought a two pack of AO and also Chenobyl. A ten pack of JTR, and I have gotten all females. (3 left of JTR) Any way your seeds always look like the seeds I get, big, dark and easily geminated. Other seed companies I used buy from are small, light colored and 50/50 male. Anyway I am going to have to cross the tga gear with my best kush male. Need something that is a little hardier here on the moist coast as my kush has been a local favorite for a while.
Sub keep up the good work and give a shout out to your fabulous crew.

Sub, surely you are the greatest, unfortunatly my grow is small and i breed but one strain all from feminized white widow bought few years back at dutch passion. Some have a slight herm at last few weeks so i simply let it cross with others. From these i take seeds and breed out the best before letting it cross from seeds of a previous plant. After reading your thread here and what a great thread, i realise that if i try to keep the traits i want and only breed the strongest i should be on track for keeping the strain strong and healthy.

Quite often i will cross a mothers daughters daughter back with the original mother and take seeds from that to cross again at a later date. I know it is different to your breeding scheme but i only have room for 9 smallish plants in my flowering room so i consider this to be my best effort.

Not looking to better the strain nor breed a new strain but merely keep the white widow genetics i first got or similar characteristics. I have done this for over 5 years i suppose and all plants seem to exhibit the same uniform growth and buds so has kept me happy. Dose this sound viable or will i eventually run into breeding depression without completly new genetics thrown into the mix. I do try and vary the crosses as much as possible to keep the genetics mixed up and healthy and probably cross with another strain in the future that i might like as much as my original white widow. Any advice would be appreciated, your thread helps but i cannot run a male female breeding program and see this as my only alternative to buying seeds. Not that there arent a lot of strains i want to try but i love the white widow from dutch passion so much i at least want to keep its great genetics. Peace and great thread and info.:blsmoke:

I'm sure this is covered somewhere, but I can't find it right now. What the best way to keep pollen viable?? I have some from several starins that put in pill bottles today, and was wondering the best way to keep it. I don't want males sligin pollen around here with my outdoor goin into bloom. I don't trust myself or the security of my male room yet. Right now it's in pill bottles at room temp.

Great thread. I was so disappointed with my Barney's Tangerine Dream/ Pineapple Chunk/ LSD order I went back to bagseed. When I finally decided to order again picking a strain was hard because everything seems to be one giant mix and match of everyone's combined genes bred just stable enough to get a random dank plant or two to try to win a cup with. I have those stoned thoughts like : a bad recessive gene could spread throughout most of the current strains before it ever started to emerge. I have get away from fems and those breeders only out for cups and cash. I decided to go old school with shark shock regular and something more isolated like TGA. I've been wanting 3D for months. I was like a kid a few weeks before Christmas, looking at pictures of it everyday >> daydreaming about what it would smell like in my flower room. Finally ordered today and found this thread searching for more info on you beans. It's been a great/ bad/ great day. Attitude only let me have 1 regular 3D seed, so i got Agent Orange and the Void too. This thread might help me figure out how to separate two (apparently) linked traits. My variegated leaves always come with poor resin production, no matter how I breed it.......any suggestions on linked traits?
