Books... What are you reading? And what do you recommend?

I like going to Barnes and Nobles and browse all the books until I finally find one I like. They have a lot of very nice new books on clearance and it’s so nice to have a fresh new book that doesn’t smell. I just bought this one today. It has 908 pages.

I have a genetic abnormality that prevents me from spending money. But I don't even buy thrift store books anymore. Space is so valuable. If they could make an e-reader that felt and looked like a book. . . . .

Believe it or not there are these places called library's where you can rent books for free.

Most thrift stores have more books than they have room for. Always on sale.

When I was writing, I didn't read anything published after 1725. So I was forced to read online. Studies have shown it's harder to hold on to information reading that way. Not to mention it's not easy to take your device into the tub.

But I need to downsize. Half of my upstairs is library. Still have stacks of books everywhere. I don't really read anymore {other than waiting rooms}, and have stopped buying books. If you were close enough, you could take a few boxes.
I’d take ‘em.
I like to write as well. How about that...

I know this guy who is too cheap to rent a $1.50 movie from Redbox.
He just gets free movies from the library.

I used to rent movies from the library. You gotta hope your local library has a nice collection. Eugene Oregon public library has the best collection I have seen. But they smelled like mold like most everything from that dirty disgusting library. People would line up to shoot up in that library bathroom and then wash and bathe themselves in there afterwards.

Writing is a trip. The story gets stuck in your head, and it's all you think about. I wrote for 4 1/2 years, pretty much night and day. Then stopped cold turkey. I guess I got it out of my system. Tried a couple of time to finish up what I was working on, but it was gone.

GWN says that's a problem in his library too. Thankfully ours is pretty nice. They have an interlibrary loan program that gets books/movies/music from all over the state. Nice because they go into university/college stacks for the rare stuff. Most libraries have this type of loan program.

Our main library is next to my work, so I used to be a regular customer. Real nice place, and good folks working there. But small town. . . . .

The ladies would always work with me getting books in order when I was reading a series. Sometimes you have to pay a buck if it's from out of system.

I once rented the movie Scar face from the local library.
Before I returned it I put some flour in the case.
