Hai all

I'm an AZ MMJ patient and I've been keeping a manual log of the meds and their effects on my ailments.
I decided to share the knowledge and put them in here going forward. I have a few back story's I will throw in too.

I will update this same thread so that if you have a similar symptom you can find good alternative strains for relief.

I will rate the meds with the following questions on a 1-10 scale; these will be things important to me.


High: The strength/content of THC or pain distraction.
Taste: The flavor tasting good or bad.
Cough: How much it makes you cough.
Nausea: How much nausea it can abate.
Migraine: How much migraine it can abate.
Insomnia: How much insomnia it can abate.
Emotional Stability: How much relaxation is provoked or stressed relieved.

Also will label the type of strain with I, S, IDH, SDH.

I will advise you I have been told many times I have a high tolerance. Please take this into consideration in my ratings.

Meet: Connie Chung (IDH)
LA Confidential with G13 Haze



High: 8 ~Almost instant quite strong
Taste: 8 ~Like sweet grass
Cough: 4 ~Normal can be avoided
Nausea: 8 ~Nausea is mostly abated within 60s
Migraine: 6 ~Some pain relief at 1+ bowl
Insomnia: 6 ~Slept for at-least 4 hours
Emotional Stability: 8 ~Instantly relaxing, weight lifted off shoulders

Notes: Really impressed; wish there was more. It looked, smelled and smoked beautifully.

Meet: Alien Orange (I)
Agent Orange with Alien OG



High: 9 ~Within two hits and lasted a good while
Taste: 8 ~Like orange zest and sweet grass
Cough: 6 ~Decent expectorant? >.<
Nausea: 5 ~Have to smoke too much to relieve
Migraine: 5 ~No change
Insomnia: 4 ~Gives energy at first
Emotional Stability: 7 ~Relaxed and "unfocused" almost right away

Notes: Smelled really amazing, was a great taste and high. However offer little medicinal benefits. The cough is brought on by the strong "chem kick" in the lungs. I would say this is good to relax after a long day or things like PTSD. Even though its an Indica; you can medicate with it during the day.

Meet: Purple Wreck (IDH)
Purple Urkle with T4 Train Wreck



High: 5 ~Normal, chem'y, have to smoke alot
Taste: 6 ~Smooth, earthy
Cough: 2 ~ very mild can be avoided
Nausea: 7 ~Good relief within 5 min
Migraine: 8 ~Within 3 bowls head feels much less pressure
Insomnia: 6 ~ Slept 2+ hr on and off
Emotional Stability: 3 ~Shoulders back but still easily upset

Notes: This is a great strain to smoke in the daytime to help with your headache or mild nausea. I did not rate it well for sleep, however other patients would rate it more of a 8-9.

Indica, sativa, indica dom, etc. Got it.

Meet: LA Confidential (I)
commercial seed strain that captures the genetics of OG Kush



High: 6 ~Fuzzy head, slight equilibrium loss not big head high
Taste: 8 ~Smooth, plant'y, not strong chem taste
Cough: 0-3 ~Cough control very high
Nausea: 8.5 ~Removed within 1 hit, still feel pressure but no pain or nausea
Migraine: 5-8 ~Does well with pressure not stabbing or throbbing pain
Insomnia: 3 ~Having to take pharmaceuticals at night to sleep
Emotional Stability: 7 ~Aware, thought provoked, worry free, quiet

Notes: Great for someone with breathing issues as its so easy to smoke. Really good on nausea and head pressure. Not good for insomnia but should be good for ADHD/ADD and artists.

Meet: Blueberry Yum Yum (IDH)
Blueberry from the Noon 13th cannabis Cup winner



High: 8.5 ~Clean, motivated, strong
Taste: 9 ~Sweet, smooth, berry like
Cough: 4 ~Just a little cough here or there
Nausea: 7 ~Abated in the first bowl, hungry by the third
Migraine: 0 ~No change
Insomnia: 6 ~Back end of the high is sleepy, good for a nap
Emotional Stability: 8 ~Excited, interested, thought(s)-full, talkative, motivated

Notes: Smells and tastes so great, so smooth and little coughing. The high is quite big but clean, no couch lock or cloudy head. Good for nausea and getting patients hungry. Good for a short nap not overnight sleep or severe insomnia issues. Probably not a good idea for ADHD patients, my wife was looking at me like stfu. Good for daytime use, on the way to an event?

Meet: Hawaiian Fire (SDH)
exact lineage of the Hawaiian strain is unknown



High: 7 ~Tingly, euphoric but no real pain distraction.
Taste: 8 ~Strong bud flavor with little chem taste
Cough: 5 ~Made me cough a little on each hit.
Nausea: 8.5 ~Brings on appetite and subdues nausea quickly and lasts.
Migraine: 4 ~Similar to Tylenol can help with small headaches.
Insomnia: 8 ~For a sativa its got a heavy kick at the end and I slept for 4 hours.
Emotional Stability: 1 ~"Uplifted" but no other changes.

Notes: Its unique in its flavor, high and effects. I found it "fun" and wished I had a better day planned after medicating. No big assistance on my headaches but nausea was very little most of the day. Loved getting some sleep off of it.

Meet: Purple TrainWreck (I)
Purple Kush with Train Wreck



High: 8 ~Eyes close up, heads gets foggy, you immediately lean back.
Taste: 8 ~ah maz ing sweet and smooth and medical
Cough: 6 ~Coughed quite a bit but not enough to stop smoking.
Nausea: 2 ~Stomach coated but had to still take Zofran 8mg.
Migraine: 8 ~Head pressure and pain relieved from 8.5 to a 5. (That's a big deal)
Insomnia: 8 ~Slept a good 4 hours with my usual wake ups.
Emotional Stability: 8 ~Feelings of relaxed, responsible free, sleepy, joyful.

Notes: Great for someone with chronic "emotional" or Migraine issues. It was really a nice effect on the brain, lowering pressure and tingling. Great for my spirit, made me relax and worry free. Really wish there was more to be had. Even though it did not help with nausea (which I was really surprised) the taste was to die for.

Meet: Purple Haze (SDH)
Jamaican Haze with Hollands Hope with Skunk

High: 8.75 ~Instant high, STRONG pain distraction. (Short)
Taste: Fresh, earthy, purp'y, chem'y
Cough: 0-3 ~Well under control, small coughs.
Nausea: 4 ~Helps create appetite not abate nausea.
Migraine: 7-8 ~Great relief of pain and pressure within first hit-bowl. (Long lasting)
Insomnia: 8 ~Great relaxing high, can close eyes anytime; I slept 3-5 hours.
Emotional Stability: 9 ~Instant stress relief, euphoric, uplifted and energetic.

Notes: A really great med to have, One of the best I've had for insomnia. Its really hard for me to sleep and getting 5 hours even waking up periodically it is a big deal. Very unique taste and smell, very sativa like. Almost no nausea relief which was surprising. Probably a really great strain for "stress" and insomnia or a long weekend at the lake.

Meet: O.G. LA Affie (I)
LA OG with Afghani



High: 8-flower ~Hard hitting, fast and psychedelic; music was the cats meow. 4-pill ~I turned most of the THC to CBN for medical purposes.
Taste: 9 ~Super sweet and "soft", Like eating flavored marshmallows.
Cough: 7 ~Reminded me of my first dab of 1/4g.
Nausea: 9 ~Nada, zip, zilch; even eat spicy!
Migraine: 8.9 ~Makes me feel like I was 15 again, almost pain free.
Insomnia: 5 ~Serious couch-lock but it couldn't take me down.
Emotional Stability: 7 ~Felt really great but a little depressed and a little paranoid.

Notes: Thought I'd give you something different that i'm taking other then flowers. The smoke is a once in a lifetime smoke, a really intense high and is great don't get me wrong, it just makes great other meds too. So I extracted the goods into these capsules, you can taste them burping but within 20 min your stomach is feeling awesome. It does a great job at keeping the migraines at bay, can even go into the sun! Couldn't tackle my insomnia but I don't recommend making plans after medicating with this. Lastly it was an emotional mind fuck, all kinds of feelings and thoughts. Recommend being in a "good place" when medicating with this bad boy.

I know its so wild, I don't ask for Indicas any more. I go by the smell, look and taste when picking meds.

Meet: Super Sour Diesel (SDH)
Super Silver Haze and Sour Diesel



High: 8 ~Instant hit, foggy head; totally relaxed.
Taste: 8.7 ~Smooth, sour, chem'y and delicious.
Cough: 7 ~Hang over the sink and drool kind of cough.
Nausea: 8.9 ~Instant relief made me hungry by second bowl.
Migraine: 7 ~Good for shooting pain, coughing was counterproductive though.
Insomnia: 3 ~Laid back, droopy eyes and relaxed but no sleep.
Emotional Stability: Relaxed, limited thought provoking, lazy, music is craved.

Notes: Sour Diesel is one of my favorite strains so ill try not to be partial. Tasted like sour apple and smelled like super sour apple. Hits you in the head and lungs real hard and quick. Great for nausea, brought down stomach acid too. Made me eat 2 whole Mexican sweet breads. Helped with my head pain but not so much pressure, it could have been the coughing messing with me too. Loved the relaxed feeling and the empty mind, felt like i should be sleeping but didn't happen. I recommend this strain for pain, taste, nausea and to get some emotional highs.

Meet: Mr. Nice Guy Purp's (I)
GDP and Mr. Nice



High: 8 ~ Powerful, makes you instantly fuzzy; gives the matrix feel. (eyes wide open)
Taste: 8 ~ Fruity, sweet, grape'y.
Cough: 6 ~ Every hit cant avoid it, but not too bad.
Nausea: 6 ~Reduces acid and the urge to get sick but does not abate nausea.
Migraine: 7.5 ~ Within one bowl stabbing/shooting head pain reduces, pressure remains.
Insomnia: 5 ~Slept 2.5 hours at first then couldn't sleep all night even after medicating when waking.
Emotional Stability: 7 ~No peeks and valleys, just a flat, aware, relaxed high.

Notes: Another strain that smelled and smoked beautifully. It has a little bit of a bite to it but the high is very relaxing. Would be good for afternoon nausea breaks, not powerful enough for morning pain. Really good on head pain, no change in pressure. I'm 50/50 on the sleeping, I slept like a rock, and I usually am up and down any time I sleep but it was only for 2.5 hr. Do with the information what you will. Emotionally I felt great, no anger, paranoia, excitement just high and relaxed. Quite rare type of high, best way I can describe is like the matrix.

Meet: Grape Ape (IDH)
Afghani and Skunk#1



High: 7 ~ Medium high but big pain relief/distraction benefits.
Taste: 7 ~Aromatic, Smooth and taste like mixed berry,
Cough: 0-3 ~Easily controlled, slight phlegm.
Nausea: 6 ~Makes you hungry after a few bowls, good at reducing acid.
Migraine: -1 ~Actually made my head pressure/pounding a little worse.
Insomnia: 7.9 ~Slept on and off for a good 6 hours, felt comfortable in bed.
Emotional Stability: 7 ~ A good relaxed, tilted feeling. Unmotivated and just want to relax and listen to music. No chasing thoughts.

Notes: A really great med to relax, take down your pain a notch while winding down for bed. The flavor was awesome, very berrylike and crisp. Made me a bit hungry for a snack but actually made my headache get a little worse. I really recommend this med not only for its looks but the relaxing high is one sought after by many folks.

Meet: Purps Confidential (IDH)
Mr Purps and La Confidential



High: 8 ~Great buzz, comes on quick pain is lowered in one bowl. Relaxes mussels, body and mind.
Taste: 7 ~Woody, sweet and thick. Smells of light kush.
Cough: 0-1 ~Burns a bit but can prevent yourself from coughing.
Nausea: 6 ~Definitely made me hungry; still have some acid and pain.
Migraine: 8 ~No pain, little pressure. Head is foggy and tingly.
Insomnia: 6 ~Wife fell asleep after one bowl, I am still awake but very relaxed. (I also have been up for 2 days)
Emotional Stability: 8.7 ~Relaxed, open minded, worry free and horny.

Notes: A really beautiful flower to look at, smells sweet but not stanky. Tastes quite good and is easy on the lungs. It gives you the munchies after a few bowls but it came with some acid. Worked really great on my head the tingly pain lifting buzz really worked well on both pain and pressure. It made me really, really, really, relaxed and laid back but not enough to fall asleep. The wife fell asleep after one bowl so I am going to give it a decent score considering my tolerance. If you come across this strain of LA I recommend you get as much as you can.
