Hmm. 24 hours of darkness they would probably grow a foot lol. A lot of the auto growers I know run their lights 24-7 but usually have the same results or less. Once I give them their 5 hours off they seem to start growing rapidly since they are searching for light, plus they still have a lot of photo genetics which have 12 hours off. Idk a lot more small experiments and things to mess with. Thanks hybrid for the comments. It's been a roller coaster for sure. The scrog is undersized, my problem is room since there are 7 more plants in here and also need to start more soon so the net can't really go past the frame on the floor. If the plants start filling it up I can hang yoyo's around the edges for the overflow. This is just a half ass way of saving work later on.

I'm now debating if 9 plants in this spot was to ambitious. I went away for 3 days and didn't notice much gain when I returned but after looking at those photos again I realized they are almost growing to fast. It will be tight in here but tight isn't always a bad thing either.
If you got outta that box on the floor you'd have the height for lenses. Boy do they make a HUGE difference. Like so much brighter bro. Put the lenses on the Pro-4. OMG. It's nuts!
I think once you have more space that 2 in each box would be perfect. But I really recommend losing the box. All you need is saucers on the floor. Amares require height & your plants grow so big bud. Maybe for your plants it would only require 12 hrs of darkness to achieve the same kick start. But w/ Autos it might not be advantageous. Dunno. I like to go a day in darkness prior to flower if I can.
Show us what's going on w/ the Pro-4's & DIY set-ups.
Real good job on the rail BTW!

Grow photos soon but something I have been working on for awhile is finally completed. Fully adjustable, modular and expandable grow lights and grow light frames. Not cheap but easy as can be to build and fun. No comparison to my new pro4's and damn close to the same price but hobbies aren't cheap.

Is that the new Amare light rail? Lol! You know why I ask! Lol! Good utilization.

Crazy you mentioned the box. It's only 4 inches off the ground now since I took the larger casters off the bottom. I pull it off the wall about a foot when the plants get bigger and they really fill in that space fast. . It was about 8 inches off the ground before. I used to do saucers and even have little planter dollies for them too so I could easily move them in my last room. I can't stand vacuuming saucers. Different plants take different amounts of water and run off is inevitable. So what I did was hooked each tray up to a drain and I eliminated about an hours work every other day. He whole watering rig is set up to be as close to automatic as possible without really being automatic.

My res has air stones and a pump. That pumps to a bucket that has 2 lines coming off to the trays and a larger return so the pump can stay running. When it's time to water I just fill and let it circulate for 15 minutes then each tray has its own waterline. I spent a lot of time making things easier and more efficient so now my time in there is much lower. But your right on the height and lenses though. Autos might not take the intensity as well. Oh yeah the H brackets. They fit so well in there I couldn't use anything else. Made for it

When you use saucers all you need to know is how much it takes to fill your pot. For me it's 2.5 gall. / 7 gall. If I'm hand feeding. If I'm using my pump, hose n wand like I normally do, it's my 55 count.
They don't overflow & it's actually good to have feed on the saucer. They drink it within an hour & its assures you there's no dry spots in your medium.
I'm very much against the drain to waste theory. Can't afford to ever waste one drop of my feed.
Lenses, lenses. It's a whole differant grow game bro. Much brighter canopy.
Your room looks great!

If I can hold them down I will absolutely use them again. Alternate this time maybe. Are u using AN? My stuff cost me $12 a plant for the whole grow. I aim for 1/4 gallon runoff to flush out any salts. Your in the bags right? Air pots are elevated so they don't suck up saucer water.

This strain even though it's taking off slowly I don't think they like the intensity as much. Anything less then 24" they instantly drop their leaves. New room on the way though. All pro series lights and my left over lights I'm not using anymore. A lot of Amare and DIY. Even some Mars hydro cob conversions. Lol this shits addictiveimage.jpeg

Whats going on man, Im in the learning side of things, i had 2 runs under my belt in the past using a 400w and dwc on 3 plants. Pulled little over an ounce per plant in a 2x2 on pure research and it was in a rented place so not too safe.

Now i have my own house, and things have began to calm down in the state, so im back and ready to go. I have walk in closet that has about 4x4 of usable space. I plan to just run 2 10 gallon bags, under a 2x4 scrog. I want to get the Amare's and will be picking up by the end of the year, but for now ill be getting the p450 from platniumled. Budgeted but it seems to be enough light and power for the 2x4.

Ill be running fem Dinafem Blue Kush , advanced nutes, and mammoth p additive. Hoping this lands me around 4 ounces

Let me know how you make out. I'm looking for as much meph info as possible. Really don't want small yielders, that's why I have a few Dinafem as backups in my other rooms
The heisenbergs yielded well even under t5. 18 inch main colas as big as my forearm. I crossed the mephisto to a dinafem amnesia xxl. I thinks the seeds will be bomb.

Those are 15 inch wide pots for reference.

The dinafem is in the middle.

Great man! But I'd really save the money. These blue and purple led companies using epistsr LEDs are actually worse than hps as far as heat and light output go. Amare has some smaller panels that use Cree LEDs and are the closest to cob tech which means you'll save heat and have a lot more light per watt. Couple guys over on the auto forum are pulling 4 oz minimum under Amares smallest panels.

Hell yeah man that will keep you rolling for awhile. You are crossing auto genetics? Are you using colloidal silver? I'd love to make my own seeds. Well on purpose that is.

For a 4x4 I'd go with 4 plants in 5 gallon pots. Even 5 is kinda big for 4oz plants. My Moby pulled 8.5 oz from a 5 gallon and that was a very abused plant. But run what you feel best with. I'm sure it will turn out good. Send over some pics when your ready

Just my thought process, the Platinum says true draw is around 255 watts, which if i could land in the 1.5gpw range would be great.
Not sure what the total wattage on the cp250 is. I can see the performance of the cobs, just not sure if I can get the bang out of 4 cobs, compared to the higher watt platinump450.

If the p450 performed well in the space, the plan was to start building up diy cobs to supplement the p450. similar to a journal going on.

Thoughts on that plan?

If the plan is DIY why spend any $$ on a pre made light then? For the cost of that non COB platinum whatever you can DIY one hell of a COB light, with lot's of options from Cree, Citizen, Vero etc.

Evil, I wanted to get something I knew would function properly, and then have a side project to tinker and build up confidence and performance of the DIY light while maintaining a nice grow.

I completely agree with your point, why spend money on pre made. Well from the journals ive seen with the non cobs, they seem to suffice but have room for improvements. but for my first run back after 5 years off, i wanted this to be a plug and play for the first round.

Thanks again for insights.

I would take the PLC light any day over the platinum myself. And I think even brand new one of the PLC at the RIU price is not too much more than the platinum, that's a no brainer in my opinion.

Okay, The guys over at pacific said they are checking to see if they have and damaged or returned lights. they said a cxp-250 would be fine for a 2x4. He said if they have any itd be discounted down hundred or so depending on the damage.

Should I roll with that instead of the p450?

I 100% vote neither! Pro-3 for your 2'x4'. But don't buy it from this site. Contact Amare directly & get a better deal. Owners name is Victor & he'll talk to you direct. The Amare web-site was hacked by jealous competitors & is in the process of being up-dated & perfected.

https://allgreenhydroponics.com/collections/led-grow-lights/products/amare-solarpro3-cob-led-grow-light

I wouldn't buy a damaged or used light ever plus it's just cobs, no real veg or enhanced spectrum. Platinum is just buying E-Shine. Epi-crap & Burple inefficient, underproducing poo-poo.
Ask Smo, he'll tell you how happy he is w/ his. I am very happy too & wouldn't choose anything else for my room except my Cloak which isn't for everybody or all situations.

@Hybridway Great insight. I was looking into the Amare's. My DIY plan was to replicate something similar to their lines.

Their Amare450 is the end game to me. Has the UVB. Thanks man for the bump in the right direction.
