Just fan boys. There are a couple of reps on here but the company was born of RIU and they changed lighting trends for the better as such everyone copied their boards and design.
Bit yes HLG has a massive fan base here, essentially everyone that bought their lights.

Also 2x3 as you corrected your area, two boards with about 180w - 240w

ViparSpectra® XS2000 240W Infrared Full Spectrum LED Grow Light with S would do ok with a 3x3 but two of these ViparSpectra® XS1500 150W Infrared Full Spectrum LED Grow Light with S would rock a 3x3 ... I run one in my 2x2 and it kills it all of these are within your price range, i'd do two of the 150's if it was me, amazon always has deals and you can find coupons for all of em right now

EDIT for a 2x3 I'd do the xs2000, its designed for a 2x4 so a 2x3 would be rocking

Weird information in here. LED are safer than HID. This isn’t something I will argue over because it’s just common sense. However, brand and quality of components are the chief factor in safety. A lot of cheap LEDs don’t follow any standard of quality.

yes a watt is a watt and produces the same amount of heat whether it came from a hid or a led. That’s irrelevant. They’re more efficient so you don’t need to run the same wattage. A 1000watt HID is replaceable by a 650W LED. That’s a dramatic difference in heat.

How many watts of LED do you need to replace a 315w cmh lamp?

The fact that there are so many cheap LED's out there seems to contradict your assertion that LED fixtures are somehow safer (due to common sense?).

1)CMH are great! Id wager a LED in the 250W range would be equivalent to a 315 (usually they put out around 340 true wattage).

2) no it doesn’t contradict my statement. I stated that quality of components can vary. This is true with HID and CMH. I’m not an old head but I’m sure that 30 years ago people were buying cheap no name brand HID fixtures and were experiencing similar issues with quality control. It’s just how manufacturing works in this situation.

bulbs can explode due to moisture (anyone foliar spraying?). When a bulb explodes it presents multiple hazard; i.e. shards of glass and nasty stuff like mercury.

Not to mention melting a hole in your tent and your floor etc. HIDs are WAY more of a hazard. Common sense isn’t very common

If I was buying a brand today…..I’d seriously consider Photontek.

Here’s a good review of their model for a 3x3. This site reviews a lot of LEDs and may help to narrow down your options.

They're all equally as safe. Maybe not because of build quality, rarely is it the diodes fault. Especially if certified or off Amazon. Diy can be risky. Ive heard failures happened from top names as well as old burples. Shifty diodes ran hard or nice ones ran hard won't last. This day n age most manufacturers are past all those problems unless your going for the worst possible lamp. The spectrums are pretty much the same so the plants see no difference. Build quality effects lamps but you see it poor on expensive fixtures too.
Don't just buy anything because some are nicer then others but some really cheap lamps will outperform expensive ones simply do to functionality and spectrum.

Still giving lighting advice I see,

For the amount of money I spend on weed and the quality received, I really ought to grow my own.

Trudeau encourages us Canucks to grow 4 plants to take the money out of organized crime. BS but its right in the legalization prospectus for Canada. The problem with Legal / Licensed Producer dispensary weed is the low and mid tier brands are totally inconsistent. One bag is great. The next is sht. The top brands put out consistent results but ask 10+ gram.

300 or 400 bucks on quality lights is a bargain.

Besides, which blackmarket or legal operator will finish an Indica to 10 or 11 weeks? Or a true sativa to even 15 or 20 weeks? Nobody.

Jeez! I didn't even want another light, but I couldn't pass up the Updayday 500 watt bar light because after the discounts, I only paid $105 for a $369 light! Ok...It's probably junk...right? Oh well...I returned a mixer that cost almost that price so it was almost like getting it for free!

Well, I didn't have revenge towards anything in mind. I will say that I've always tried to buy the best that I could afford. I don't think this new light will fall into that category, but, on the other hand, I had a terrible experience recently, with my Nextlight Mini, (which was supposed to be a great light), when it suddenly burned out on me! And when I tried to contact the company, I found they are now out of business and have gone completely silent -even though many retailers are still selling their stock of Nextlights! I guess this Updayday couldn't be any worse than that....right? We shall see. It's supposed to be here on Tuesday!

I thought their lights didn't use fans.....heh

The light arrived and was bent to Hell! The packing was a joke. The light weighed like 30 pounds and was in an empty box with two pieces of light duty styrofoam at each end.I don't even know why they would bother shipping like that. It's almost a guarantee that it will get damaged. Anyway, I'm getting refunded and everything but I'll never make that mistake again.
