The spyder x plus is a bit more tough built than my buddy's old Bml. But while I have not been a huge fan of amare the bar 8 certainly has me interested. That said my fluence has not had a single problem and I'd by the spyder 2 in a heartbeat. I'd also buy timber or hlg without having to think twice about it, they are all good companys in my book. Opinions are like ass holes everyone has one and what makes my light good for me may not be good for you. The old bml does not compare to the spyder x plus in terms of performance along with probably anything timber or hlg offer as well. i think the tech has improved ALOT since then. JMO as I'm not a led pro or anything. HAPPY GROWING!
I was not referring to performance, but my ~ 6 yo SPYDR 600 still grows really well. I was referring to the actual execution of their design, which is pretty mediocre

I just made the jump to QBs but will use my blurples for supplemental lighting depending on the growth period (red and blue on and off switches)

I thought the bml was a little more shitty design but I can understand why you said that.

What one did you end up going with and what lights are you coming from. I see purple In your post so my guess is you will fall in love with it and probably buy another in the near future if funds allow. Led really has come a longggggg way. When I got my fluence spyder x plus I was thinking the kind xl 1000 (I think) lights I thought grew well were straight trash and always went back to cmh or hps... not anymore. Led for me. I may buy another 1000 se hps at some point to try a side by side with clones of the same mom and run it against my fluence for the nay sayers crowd. I'd have to buy another though as I donated my 3 1000 watt mh/hps set up to a older man in need along with some old brothers Grimm Rosetta stone packs I had a few of. Was going to sell on ebay but wanted to help him out. Good karma.

Wish you the best with your new QB. Happy growing.

I went with the HLG 320 V2 3000k with a KIND VEG MACRO LED bar as top supplemental lighting to get some extra blue in there. great for a 2x4 and I’ll just need another when I switch to a 4x4 in the future. I love that it’s dimmable so I can adjust accordingly. It should arrive by the end of the week. I’m coming off off vipar spectra which I might add for the price have done very well, last grow was 1.05g per watt, not bad for 100$. Of course I did training though too. Def a
Great STARTER light to get in the game and learn basic horticulture. 4 plants = 10 zips under 2 300s. I will use these for side lighting and hang them along the walls of my future 4x4. Instead of lollipopping as usual, I’m going to experiment and leave all the under bud growth and blast them from the side. Super stoked to post future results.

The basic design idea/concept; sliding and angling bars was vg, the execution sucks. the slide and angle adjustments are poorly executed, cheaped out
