I heard that Chilled hassled Loki gro, when one of his lights needed servicing. Only when he found out that Loki was a youtuber, did he honor the warranty. One of reasons that I own HLG is their customer service, but mainly because they have the best lights.

Sounds like a great company to support.

If I was setting up a commercial business I'd want American made gear for the peace of mind, your spending a lot of money and you only want to spend it once.

That said there isn't a light company that makes there own, they'll all outsource make up whatever light and sell it, you would need to be familiar with the parts to pick out the best value for money.

I've had a few dealings with Chinese commerce and I've found the customer service bend over backwards for you, certainly ime.

Also I constantly hear atempts being made to suggest that Chinese is crap, well of course some is but some isn't, the chances are most of the electronics around you come from China._20200928_001602.JPG
The jacket/waders prices are eye-watering check where there made.

Why’d you sell it? And what rubbed you the wrong way?
It was my first LED, I did my research, debated a DIY fixture. The chilled sounded great, and i caught it on their pre-sale. Waited to get it, and it comes in a box of parts, no directions, not even "hey checkout you tube for some assembly instructions". Whatever, got that figured out.

I was setting up a 10 lighter, and hit them up for help. 'How can i best time the lights on/off. How can i make this work with a trolmaster'. They had no idea, told me to hit up their site and send them an email. They emailed me back saying that hooking this up to the trolmaster was not possible! I was pretty disappointed, its a brand new light, which just came out, its very expensive compared to their competitors, yet does not come with a rj12 plug? There was then a post here on roll it up, which provided directions on adding the rj-12 to their lights. BUT HOW DID THEY KNOW KNOW ABOUT THEIR OWN PRODUCT!!!

I hit them up again, asking for a commercial discount, since i see on their site they are looking for commercial growers. I also knew a few other people looking to upgrade and was ready to take 40 lights. Their offer was 9% discount, and their response to my rj12 questions were to tell me that their lights are not intended or best suited to my 'commercial setup'.

So now iIdont fuck with them. Sold the light for the same price I paid for it, so no loss.

That's a jacket. Ya they get those made in China, along with some other stuff. But all the top end waders are made in Boseman Montana, USA. The G3 and G4 are a couple of them.

That is a G4 top of the range?
My understanding is that the panel s are prepared in China then put together in America, under American laws that's enough to say there made in the USA
My old G4 did have American label on them, when I replaced them the new ones were made in China, I was pissed off, I know American goods are quality made like everyone else I wasn't on keen on Chinese goods at a premium price.
Tbh I felt I'd been humped £600/750 for jacket and waders from China wtf!
I wouldn’t buy them again even though I know there put together to USA standards.

Anyways it was only an example of premium goods from China.

Anymore thoughts on best lights for a 5x5 tent
Looking at the meijiu f8 650 w from canada site is $950 with a 5 year warranty and free shipping.
Or on Alibaba it's around $600 plus $200+ shipping and the warranty is only 1 to 3 years.
Also seeing the mammoth folding series 600 w for $699 on sale which would be like $880 Canadian roughly

Best solution might be 4 lights, one for each corner. Like 4x 240 kits from HLG/aliibaba.

If buying from the Chinese then I'd rec boards and heatsinks only and get your driver's from local/regional distributor.
Those huge bar lights are good aswell but very pricey to ship and even though they have less of a hotspot than the 600w qb lights they still have one, and low coverage on sides. A square place is best served by 4 lights and spread is one of the reason you can grow so well with leds.

Not 100% but this photontek 1k I have is nice for a 5x5. Little to no drop off on the edges as far as par goes in a tent in my room I'm putting the 15 in they're bound to lose some. At 25% it's dropping 400+ ppfd to the canopy. About to ramp it to 50% until I switch to flower.
