Are my buds done? 12 weeks into budding pics

Would you mind talking a little bit about your led setup and your experience growing with led. Those strains shouldn't be anywhere near 12 weeks so obviously slower growth is one downside. What model LED, wattage, how much heat does it put out, how close can you get it to the plants, does the light spread evenly or is it direct, etc.

Sorry if that's off topic. I've just never heard anything good about LED's. Your buds look great but 12 weeks... yikes! That's one hell of a commitment considering in the same time you can get about 2 harvests depending on the strain.
No its cool i'll tell you i did one harvested at about this time and the buds didn't look as good as this time around but as they were pretty light and lacked good flavor because none of the trichs had turned amber yet.. it was just schwaggy bud that was good for edibles kinda hahah

My led light is a ufo with the standard 90w, and with the old spectrum of light.
It works very well for veg and i originally got one due to growing in a tiny spot that a hps was kinda out of question for... I think its a great lamp to have for veging in tight spaces but might do something different in the future especially when growing 4 plants... More suitable for 2 at most maybe just one. It kinda goes just straight down and doesn't spread out due to its tiny round space of leds... especially when your plants get tall, but thats why i added 10 cfls and a t5 this time around

I think they took a lil longer also cause i added 4 cfls and the t5 after 4 weeks of budding

Heres more pics of the master kush

Rice, thanks for the info on the LED. I use the New Wave T5 4x2' flouro systems from my mothers, clones, and very early stages of veg before putting them under a 600w with a digi ballast. How big is your space? If you could throw a 400w on them they'd be much happier and you would see faster results at around the same wattage as all those CFL's, T5's, and UFO. Plus, you would only have to deal with one light and one set of wires.

I can only image what your power strip rigging must look like with 12 lights, fans, power cords, pumps, and timers. lol. Do you have 3 strips plugged into eachother? lol

I 2nd the motion for the addition of a hps lamp to your grow if you can swing it. that led would make one bad ass side light with the hps above. you would shit your pants when you saw the difference.

They are well done without a hps, with an hps, you would be amazed at the size difference. With led, you are recommended to use some sunlight to get the full spectrum. even a 150 hps would make a big difference.

So i decided after looking at pics and zeus' article on harvesting crops that im not pulling these things up for at least another 2 weeks....

They look really dank to me but they are lacking just a bit of amber hughe and a few of the main pistils up the top and main pods are a bit white and some are half brown with white tips.....

So once these nugss start really looking like nuggs im not pullin them out and waisting alll my hard earned work lol (5 week veg with a 12 week bud so far)

So worst comes to worst i give them nutes for two more and a good flush for 1 then i'll be happy with my finished product in the new year :)

After all its been a troubling time dealing with the length of using leds and cfls but the buds do look like a quality product i just want to get them smokeable and tasting good. Last harvest my crops tasted leafy due to i think pulling to early and they got me high but not "baked":eyesmoke:

Does good ventilation or exposure to O2 or CO2 affect the trichomes? or have anything to do with buds turning faster?

Also if anyone has any ideas or has used ice techniques to get the buds purple while flushing i would love to know more information

Thanks for all your posts

Thanks thats an interesting read
I'll put some more pics up this weekend let you guys see how they're coming along. A couple of the nuggs sitting close to the cfls are turning into what zeus would call becoming a nugget... as the pistols are starting to lay down and become part of the bud itself :)

Has anyone ever had a successful flowering using cfls?

This is ridiculous i found a 400 watt HPS thats looking good right about now (12 weeks flowering) that was was only 150 for digi ballast and everything. Maybe next harvest

Ok so not trying to beat this thread into the ground but i have been playing close attention to my buds as of late and have noticed almost less showing of the trichomes.... They havent turned amber but are just not as prevelant....

After reading zeus' article i now feel comfortable because a user wrote that there are different cycles as the chomes explode literally. The user posted that some days the trichomes looked like they were declining and he had a panic ( But he waited it out and in 5 days another huge sign of trichome build up was there on the buds

First they looked outrageous when they show up then they have gradually turned thick and milky but now i think they are kind of hardening up a bit and dont look as prevelant So now im waiting for those trichome heads to pop out with some new good tastes and dankness

Heres some pics of buds i took off of the plant (Master Kush is cured hang dried for few days and cured in a jar for a week)

doesnt look bad just isnt as bomb as id like it

The taste isn't strong on my throat like good nugs and wouldnt make me cough lol and it has a bit too much of a leafy taste .... I guess both of these factors could be that they haven't been flushed and cured for long enough and/or they arent ready yet

Most of the chomes if not all that i could see were milky so the bud really gave me a rush of a high and then faded out fairly quickly with no couch lock... They are bomb as i almost had a panic attack cause my heart was beating so fast lol cause of all that active thc but no cannibinoid(amber chomes)

Cut this bud off today to give me a sample taste of the Bubba Kush i got....

It looks really bomb and has a hint of purple which im sure will continue to show up as the week goes on... Im curious to see how this looks in a week when its dried and curing... cant wait to compare with the taste and smell of the master

I saw a few maybe 5% amber chomes but i cant tell for sure.
Let me know what u think?

And should i harvest soon?

Nobody else wants to chime in???

So i found this swolen calyx on the plant today that looked kind of dead almost brownish not the bright green that it used to be.... It fell off while i was looking at the triches on my crops... So zoomed in to see what was up with this caylix...

Is this amber or is this just a heat stressed or dried out (burnt??) calyx?

Thanks for your comments please any advice would be greatly appreciated. Peace Jah Love may you all have bountiful harvest:weed::weed:

My setup is almost excactly like yours and my first grow is at 10 weeks now. My plants aren't quite to your level yet but look very similar. Gut instinct says let them grow longer cuz if you have to ask then they aren't ready. LIke I said it's my first grow but I know about growing other things and the growing time doesn't matter as much as how the crop is coming along. I've had crops blossom 2 weeks ahead of schedule and 4 weeks behind. Just my 2 cents.
