You can see a few stars on the sunset photo too!

Such an empty place needs some water, nutes, and the seeds to start a ganja farm. lol

^^^I was thinking the same thing myself and I was just contemplating on busting his balls or not... HAHA^^^

Check this out... This is cool stuff too... Apparently at 2012, we will encounter our "planet X" that is in our solar system that only comes around every 3600 years.... I just found out about this today and its really a trip to think about.. Let me know what you guys think.. http://youtube.com/watch?v=9BuS8GWmD-0&feature=related

Thanks:mrgreen:

do you think maybe they are taking life up there to see if it will live? "planting seeds" so to speak.

I don't think so. I'm not very versed on mars, but I think the temperature differences are way to extreme for any earthly plant to survive on the red planet. Plants need oxygen, co2, and a certain temperature range(not to mention sun and nutes)... Mars atmosphere would have to have all of these things plus a watering cycle- which would need clouds, unless they automated it like we can do in our grow rooms .

The atmosphere on Mars consists of 95% carbon dioxide, 3% nitrogen, 1.6% argon, and contains traces of oxygen, water, and methane. The atmosphere is quite dusty, giving the Martian sky a tawny color when seen from the surface; data from the Mars Exploration Rovers indicates the suspended dust particles are roughly 1.5 micrometres across.[4]

You would think with 95% co2 content that the red planet would be warmer because of "global warming" HAHAHA The Great Global Warming Swindle - Channel: UKUFO on LiveVideo.com

Differing values have been reported for the average temperature on Mars, [9] with a common value being −55 °C.[10] Surface temperatures have been estimated from the Viking Orbiter Infrared Thermal Mapper data; this gives extremes from a warmest of 27 °C to −143 °C at the winter polar caps.[11] Actual temperature measurements from the Viking landers range from −17.2 °C to −107 °C.

So my answer is most likely not, just because the plants would never stand a chance in such a harsh environment. They would have to build an indoor grow room(plenty of co2 on mars though), and what good would that do? HAHA

i never said plants. i said "life".
Thats why my name is "wetarded" Duhh....:dunce:

I think there is a bug that can remain dormant for extended periods(like decades) of time in a frozen state of "hibernation". But once the temps get warm enough for the bug, I'm sure it needs oxygen and a food source in order to live.....

So unless some animal can adapt to the Martian environment than I wouldn't see any point of bringing an animal to see it freeze to death... Every living thing has a threshold level that it can survive. So unless "we" can find an animal that doesnt eat anything except Martian dirt, breaths mostly co2, and likes/tolerates bitter cold (freezing) weather, than theres no point in trying... Just my humble opinions anyways.

the whole point in trying is so "we" can find something. don't things live in the arctic? :blsmoke: might just be a microscopic something, but you never know. why not try? why are we there in the first place?

To take some pretty pictures so the tax payers don't feel so robbed......

Umm, I'm not sure, but its definitely to get a better understanding of what our next possible option is if the human race goes mad and has WW3 except with lots of nukes and contaminating earth with radio active radiation, unfit for human survival... *sigh*

Ya, its so we can get a better understanding of Mars (obviously) and to get a close up perspective of another planet. (And to search for little green men on the red planet:mrgreen:.... I'm full of gay jokes tonight.)
