and to plant new life. :)
What kind of life do you think would survive there?

The only thing I could think of would be GMO's(Genetically Modified Organisms) that they would genetically engineer to prosper in those epic conditions. Even then, I'm sure it would be really hard to get anything to prosper in those conditions. But, I'm not a genetic engineer person, so I don't know what they are capable of.

I can't think of one indigenous earthly life that could survive Mars. Everything is adapted to life on earth in its indigenous home. But whos to say that GMOs can't prosper off of the condition set forth on red planet. I'm sure most anything is possible when you can genetically engineer something from the ground up.... Genetics are what makes people people, and Ganja Ganja. If you can engineer genetics, I'm sure the possibilities are endless....:? (Just ranting/ "typing"{thinking} out loud")

they will start small. find something that will live. then find a plant that will grow. maybe some type of moss. the moss will grow and start to supply gases to atmosphere, in turn creating clouds which will create weather and so on ...........

I was thinking along the same lines. The roots and decomposing plant material would make turn the rocks into soil over time. The only thing they need is water. Imagine if we created new life on mars? Imagine if they evolved into their own species?

This video postulates that there is a "Planet X Nibiru" that is part of our solar system but only comes around every 3600 years. The next time its alleged to show up is 2012, and allegedly our creators are on this planet that started us... Its kinda far out there, but isn't a lot of things. I just heard about this today, but apparently planet X Nibiru is really apart of our solar system. Crazy to think about, time will tell because time is truth.

YouTube - Nibiru Planet X 2012 Sitchin 12th Planet

Anyone know about the above? Is this planet X real? It seems crazy to me, but I haven't taken a astronomy class since high school..

Zecharia Sitchin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to Sitchin's interpretation of Sumerian cosmology, there is a hypothetical planet which follows a long, elliptical orbit, reaching the inner solar system roughly every 3,600 years. This planet is called Nibiru (the planet associated with Marduk in Babylonian cosmology). Nibiru collided catastrophically with Tiamat, another hypothetical planet that was between Mars and Jupiter. The collision formed the planet Earth, the asteroid belt, and the comets. Tiamat, as outlined in the Enûma Elish, is a goddess. According to Sitchin, however, Tiamat may have been what we now know as Earth. When struck by one of planet Nibiru's moons, Tiamat split in two. On a second pass Nibiru itself struck the broken fragments and one half of Tiamat became the asteroid belt. The second half, struck again by one of Nibiru's moons, was pushed into a new orbit and became today's planet Earth.
This scenario is hard to reconcile with the earth's current small orbital eccentricity of only 0.0167. Sitchin's supporters maintain that it would explain Earth's peculiar early geography due to cleaving from the celestial collision—i.e. solid continents on one side and a giant ocean on the other. While this is consistent with the giant impact hypothesis for the origin of the moon, that event is estimated to have occurred 4.5 billion years ago.

:? Do you guys think this could be real? BUMP:mrgreen:

So do you believe there is a 'planet X' at all?

:-?This is all new to me so I have to use other peoples knowledge to help form my own opinion. If there is a 'planet X' that comes around every 3600 years(its supposed to be closest to the earth Dec. of 2012) than thats pretty amazing... I'm just trying to figure out if this 'planet X' is for real..(you cant believe everything you see on the internet):-?

the universe is completely unpredictable, i would not be amazed if there is a planet x. after all, i believe in life in other galaxies/bands of our own galaxy and i believe that there is more than likely an anti-self to every individual in the universe. so i am more than willing to give a planet x some sort of play. but i highly doubt it's the other "half" of the earth (the earth's origin is scientifically well documented)

I feel ya bro. I believe that Earth (and our galaxy) is but a mere atom, relative to the infinite universe. I also believe there is a potential of life(ET's) in the universe, I just don't know how great the potential is(I could only imagine it to be a large percent because of the huge caliber of space and mass).

Did you know that if we were to meet our "anti-selves" than we would turn into pure energy, MANY more times more power than an atomic bomb. If we meet our "anti-selves" and nullified each other(from particles meeting antiparticles) than that would most likely be enough energy to vaporize EARTH.

I don't know if there are anti-universes, but I know what happens when a particle meets its anti-particle- COMPLETE ENERGY with a power equal to E=MC^2.

I like talking about this stuff. I hope you guys can follow what I'm saying.. Its no bullshyt.

A planet that comes around every 3600 years? What is the size and mass of this thing to circumvent all of the gravitational pulls it encounters along its axis? It can't be too big or planets would revolve around it, too small and it would become trapped in another planet/star's gravitational pull. Sounds like bullshit to me. :hump: Also the fact that it's Sitchin's "theory" makes it even more bullshitty!

You make some good points...

I'm not knowledgeable enough on the subject, but I was wondering the same things. I can't deny that it is a possibility that there could be a "planet X" until I can find steadfast facts.

This is all news to me, but its fun to talk about though.

that is quite true..and i am becoming very privy to parallel universes..for every reaction to an event in our cognizant reality, an opposite reaction takes place in a parallel universe..quantum mechanics/physics is fuckin nutty shit man!!

[FONT=arial, helvetica] Everything you're about to read here seems impossible and insane, beyond science fiction. Yet it's all true.
Scientists now believe there may really be a parallel universe - in fact, there may be an infinite number of parallel universes, and we just happen to live in one of them. These other universes contain space, time and strange forms of exotic matter. Some of them may even contain you, in a slightly different form. Astonishingly, scientists believe that these parallel universes exist less than one millimetre away from us. In fact, our gravity is just a weak signal leaking out of another universe into ours.
The same but different
For years parallel universes were a staple of the Twilight Zone. Science fiction writers loved to speculate on the possible other universes which might exist. In one, they said, Elvis Presley might still be alive or in another the British Empire might still be going strong. Serious scientists dismissed all this speculation as absurd. But now it seems the speculation wasn't absurd enough. Parallel universes really do exist and they are much stranger than even the science fiction writers dared to imagine.
Greater dimensions
It all started when superstring theory, hyperspace and dark matter made physicists realise that the three dimensions we thought described the Universe weren't enough. There are actually 11 dimensions. By the time they had finished they'd come to the conclusion that our Universe is just one bubble among an infinite number of membranous bubbles which ripple as they wobble through the eleventh dimension.
A creative touch
Now imagine what might happen if two such bubble universes touched. Neil Turok from Cambridge, Burt Ovrut from the University of Pennsylvania and Paul Steinhardt from Princeton believe that has happened. The result? A very big bang indeed and a new universe was born - our Universe. The idea has shocked the scientific community; it turns the conventional Big Bang theory on its head. It may well be that the Big Bang wasn't really the beginning of everything after all. Time and space all existed before it. In fact Big Bangs may happen all the time.
Of course this extraordinary story about the origin of our Universe has one alarming implication. If a collision started our Universe, could it happen again? Anything is possible in this extra-dimensional cosmos. Perhaps out there in space there is another universe heading directly towards us - it may only be a matter of time before we collide.

Smoke to this stuff my friends. Take a HUGE bong-rip and read the above.... This will take you into another dimension in your mind just trying to fathom all of this. (I'm stoned right now :D)

The thing that is messed up is that I didn't know string theory was true.. It was still a theory, last time I checked.

I didn't think they would be able to prove it.. Can you find an article/proof that proves string theory is now considered "string 'fact'"? I have studied
sting theory and quantum mechanics a little bit, but I didn't know all the crazy dimensions and parallel universes were real. It makes my life seem a lot
different knowing it might be true. Do you know what I'm saying?

Isn't that BEAUTIFUL?

It makes my head do flips trying to figure out where I am.. If there are parallel universes that exist less than one milimeter away from us, then what dimension are we in? How come
we can't see these parallel universes that are adjacent with ours?

Maybe when we smoke enough pot, we get to go for a trip in our adjacent parallel universes. POT is the ANSWER to WORLD PEACE! Why is it illegal again? HAHA.
