I would lift out the reservoir, lift out the lid, sit the roots gently with plants and lid into the sink/bow of water/pot of water. Clean the reservoir out. Add fresh clean water. Return roots and lid gently. add fresh water each day keeping up with insane thirst of flowering plants.
Nice man how tall is she?
FLOWERING- DAY 30 (DAYS SINCE GERMINATION- 54 )

SICC- The tallest of the ladies is 4 feet even right now. The shortest is about 3.5 feet. I'm expecting another foot of growth till harvest...just based on the growth so far.

My lesson learned- Grow a strain more suitable to indoor closet type growing next time. hehe. I'm not complaining by any means though. I think I'll get a healthy harvest from these beauties!

when you flush do u take the plants out completely or just make a opening then dump it out?

FLOWERING- DAY 30 (DAYS SINCE GERMINATION- 54 )

Mugzie101- In my case...the root structure of my plants attached themselves around the built in airstone on my AG making it impossible to take the lid off without doing damage to the roots.

What I do is take the entire res to the sink......dump it out with the plants still in their little holes and the lid still attached.
I then use 2 gallons of water I have standing by in jugs at room temperature....and rinse the res out the best I can.

So far I have not had any problems with this process.....

FLOWERING- DAY 31 (DAYS SINCE GERMINATION- 55 )

Thanks MeditateWithJah!

I honestly would have been lost without this forum. I've learned much from the hundreds of threads I've read here. It's so awesome to be able to learn from others....and be able to avoid some of the common mistakes. Makes this so much easier and rewarding.

Just a quick update via a few photos.

Nothing really new to add. Still flushing the res once a week and still using the same nutes as previously described.

The big gal is right at 4.5 feet tall. Upward growth has slowed quite a bit....but they are really developing as far as budding and mid girth goes.

Still very happy with my first grow so far!

I wish you guys could smell these photos! VERY TASTEY!!!!

Hey Bud; just confirming, you have 3 Females in the AG now. Can you please take a picture or give a good description regarding your res. I am curious what level of Root growth you have in there.
As noted in earlier posts, I am still Vegging my 3 plants in my AG VeggiePro. Worried about running out of Room...

Finally, when you identified your Male and pulled it... Did you just Cut it at the base or did you "try" to remove it's associated Root growth?

Thx

Kro!

FLOWERING- DAY 38 (DAYS SINCE GERMINATION- 62 )

Hey krozone,

I started with 3 in the AG. One turned out male....now I have 2 girls in the AG......a third much smaller girl is in some Miracle Grow next to the AG. I'm comparing her to the AG. So far the AG is kicking the soil grows ass by a long way. I think it'll be interesting to compare the taste between the 2....and the yield difference.

I have to say.....2 in the AG is max.....and that may be pushing it. I will take a photo soon of the res for ya. Can't do it now as the girls are getting their beauty sleep. The root growth in the rez is amazing......this is the reason I say 2 in the AG may be pushing it.

By the time I ID'd the male......the roots of all three plants were so intermingled as to make it impossible to separate. I cut the male off just below the 1st node.....and so far all is well. I have been flushing my res out weekly.....and have noticed no problems with the roots at all. I didn't even bother to try and separate them....I was too afraid of putting the other 2 in shock...and just as they are budding too? No way!

SICC- Thanks man! I wish you could smell them and see them in person. These photos do not do these ladies justice! I do know you like pics.....I'll have a few more up this weekend.

ent931- The seeds came from some regular cheap. It was tasty....but did have a lot of seeds to sift through. I won't have a seed problem with my grow.....and based on the smell and the crytals on the buds....this is gunna be a great harvest!

Hi Shingar! I'm Joe and I'm brand new to this forum. I recently bought an AeroGarden Elite, and I just finished reading through the entirety of your saga thus far and I must say, great job man! I am about to endeavor on my first grow and I have noted some of the different things you have suggested such as the carbon filter preparation before it is actually necessary and the Foxfarm nutes. I am in the germination stage right now, so I am at the beginning of the beginning, but your progress with the AG has given me some serious confidence. Tomorrow morning my friend and I are heading to Home Depot just to grab some last minute items and once I get something worth photographing I will share them here in this community. I'm thinking about taking some quick pics of my AG setup so as to establish the start of my journey. Anyway, talk later bro. Happy toking!

Hey iiilostdune. Thanks for the kind words my friend. I must say I am a bit jealous of you right now. If I had to do it all over again I would have started this journal from before day 1. I was just not confident enough that I would have a green thumb. Turns out I kinda do....and that's crazy!
If I had any suggestions to you for your own journal....it's to focus on and document the early days (take some photos of those germed seeds with their little tails....and keep documenting from there!) ......and the adjustments you make to ensure your girls turn out like you want them to. I didn't have that focus when I first started my journal...but wish I did. I'm looking forward to following your grow.....please let me know when you start up a journal!

I think after the harvest is all said and done I'll make a post that consolodates all the lessons learned I've had so far.

FLOWERING- DAY 47 (DAYS SINCE GERMINATION- 71 )

Going into the last 2-3 weeks of flowering and things are looking good.
Nothing new to report. These babys have pretty much been on automatic pilot. Upward growth has stopped pretty much completely. The energy seems to be directed at the flowering....and they are doing very nicely.

I'll be going out to buy a microscope today so I can have a look-see at the trics. The smell is amazing!

Here are some new photos!
