wow ummm the point is he is wrong at everything he has said if you are a new grower and you go by dinyo or shults or magical grow and some supersoil or anything similar compared to FFOF and "good" nutes not harsh chemicals ..world of difference..I mean that is the exact opposite advise you should give a new grower . the advice is spend the 16 dollars a bag and get the "FOX FARM OCIAN FOREST" SPEND THE MONEY GET THE "PROPER NUTES".......your medicine is not a JOKE is it I dare you go get the supersoil and oh my god its a miracle at 5 dollars
and get a bag of FOX farm OF with no nutes and it will spank the shults or dyno... you get twice the medicine at 3 times the quality and the value of that is worth it .....no short cutsrule number 1
and there is a difference between kush and stress

peoples medicine is not a joke...does he grow legally...he sounds like a kid playing games ...not saying a plant wont grow with the stuff and stress will turn out better than the brick it came from....but its not kush or anything close and never can be
Yield and product quality is about Environment and Genetics. NOT NUTRIENTS. Thx. I am a legal grower and have been form some time. Any exceess salts stored after harvest are stored in the leaves anyway. You trim close right? Then whats the question?
I'm switching as soon as I run outta the GH stuff I got. No active journal as I run a 2-wk perpetual and its the same all the time. zzzz. I will put one up as soon as i make the change. Promise.
The 3-12-6 mix is for AFTER THE STRETCH. Is the 12 a lil high? Yea. Does it matter for the last 5-6 weeks? not so much. The plants thirst for N decreases quite a bit at that point.
The science is Botany fellas. It is not a "special" plant that requires all sorts of additives if given proper basic nutrition.

I've been using the Lucas Formula for a long time now and have found it lacking in Nitrogen and Micros. In both soil/coco and hydro. My plants don't lie, unlike marketing departments and shysters selling sugar water without a real GA of whats in it. "Trust us, it's good for the plant."
I agree that each plant is different but they all require the same basic things. Energy, Water, and 16 basic elements for nutrition. Sure, they take up these elements at different rates but we already know that marijuana is an Nitrogen thirsty plant so why fight it?
Minerals are not stored in the calyxes or pistols. Look it up.
There is a post by Roseman that has all the hairy details and scientific data to bk it up.
Salts are salts. Supply the plant what it wants and let it do it's thing. Taste is about the dry/cure process and has exactly shit to do with nutrients.

Wow I came back and this thread was 24 pages long from 3. I'm just gonna answer the question again. I've used both brands of Nutes. I used FF full line along with their synthetics. And currently using AN Sensi AB Big Bud voodoo Juice and B-52 along with molasses.
Fox Farm:
I received great results. Pulled 3.5 pounds off of my lowryders under 2x1000w. Could not be any happier for my first grow.
Advanced Nutes:
Still awaiting my results off of same 2x1000w setup to compare. Will be harvesting within the next week. Buds have a lot more resin but yield looks like its going to be the same. Still couldn't be any happier.
UB not all of us here are gonna being expert growers and I bet most of us here don't really mind that were not going to be. We don't study up on every single detail like you. Unlike you some of us have other desires and interests in our lives. I havent even hit 21 yet so maybe when i retire i'll start studying up on being a master grower, but for now Im looking for fast $$$ if you know what i mean. I'd say I spent maybe $500 in the last 2 years on nutes and I've barely used a 1/10th of whats in my bottle. I even gave my entire FF line to a buddy of mines when I switched over to AN. Obviously you have a lot more experience than all of us and you know what your talking about but this topic is not about that. People just wanna know which is better. In all reality everything pays for itself in the end. Money comes and goes. I'd rather pay $500 over 2 years then spend hours cramming info into my head. Especially when I'm high which makes it harder. FF and AN both work with great results. I would recommend FF for beginners and AN for people who have had a few crops under their belt. I give props to AN. They obviously know how to market thier product and make money. Beginners, Money makes the machine run smoothly. Don't cheap out in this sport and things will be a lot easier and you wont have to do as much studying and work. IMO AN is better than FF. Simple as that.

The genetics of today's high potency seeds did indeed come from the classics. Of course they did. Where else would they come from.
Are they higher THC% now? Yes, absolutely. I've seen several reports stating that the THC% has increased many fold in the last 25 years. The beans you buy have (hopefully) come to you as a result of many years of selective breeding to isolate and cross specific desired trates.
That being said we are still working with the SAME genes that were always there and anyone willing to do the selection process required many years ago would have also wound up with a grade AA product even by today's standards.

Again, We all know the Lucas Formula. 
I've found it deficient in N and micros. Causes pre-mature lower drop on most strains I've tried. Until recently, i just accepted this as ok because I was not properly thinking about how the plant ticks.
If your experience with Lucas is different please post some pix of your late stage ladies for us to admire. Thanks!

Yes it was dry weight duh. The journal you saw wasn't grown with efficient c02 at 1500ppms and wasn't maintained as well. Will post my yield to compare sometime next week. Only difference is that blueberry is known to have a lower yield than the LR2. Still think im going to hit the 3lb mark though. Yes I understand it's only as hard as you make it. But like some growers here, growing isn't the most important in our lives. In the end Im gonna find a way thats simple and works rather than studying up and dedicating all my time to growing. Obviously FF and AN worked for me so im satisfied.

I've got several albums full of shots like that using Lucas formula. I see some of the same issues I had tho. Bottom pic looks great but i did not see a problem till about wk 6 and those are earlier than that. The 1st pic is nice and frosty, usually is, but its a really tight shot. How does the rest of the plant look? I've had a couple strains that were green and healthy till late stages with Lucas but they were not what i would call heavy eaters anyway.

did you use micro plus bloom 2 part or floranova 1 part lucas
I think you prob were using 1 part nova and ran into a bad bottle
go with 2 part micro and bloom
5 10 8 16 or 800-900 1200-1300 dont get micro hard water it uses urea for nitrogen and lacks cal mag

FNB bottle is 4-8-7. Same mix.
Late bloom N deff comes on when there is a shortage of N that begins way earlier. The lack of N I'm seeing in late bloom is actually starting as wk 2-3. If i have nice thick green lower leaves when the N does begin to mobilize to new growth there is much more of it to support fat cola growth.
Not just the N either. Missing micros too. I'm changing to something with all 16 essentials.
