20 weeks, holy shit! When you say reflowering, would that allow for a continuous harvest?
I don't think so, I've never tried this before. It happens with the Ace seeds 'Panama' landrace as well, some plants can reflower over and over, it's supposed to be 11-12 weeks but I had one go 15, and it was excellent smoke regardless.

You make me want to break out my GT beans. I got them to find a psychedelic high and you say it is there. I believe I only ordered 5 as I was leery of the Malawi in it. You say the high is clean and that is what I want. Some say the Malawi can be somewhat dirty or narcotic. I believe in not waiting on amber resin as you did with this. That might help keep things clean.

The herms are obvious to spot, as buds start forming at week 4, the male flowers are around 2-3, any herm that can contaminate the room exposed itself early through multiple bad signs like a consistent odor of green pepperand floral incense. The Thai dominant smell like mandarin orange and out of 14 females so far, just 1 produced late term nanners. My temps got a bit crazy during June around 95°f from lack of airflow a few times. Had to reset my tent arrangement and funnel heat upward rather than down into the cannopy. Lots of fried leaves and temp issues last grow but the really sturdy cuttings proved their worth, many to be seeded soon.

Are you not a fan of Malawi? I grew it for a year and a half, I loved it. It's worth as much time and effort as the Golden tiger, and is the main reason I went with Golden tiger over Destroyer by cannabiogen. I have 3 packs of destroyer seeds just in case these Golden tiger don't produce good f1's, always need a backup.

No idea on the Malawi as I never tried it. There are different types of it as well from what I have read.

Ace lists a ”rotten” pheno in the breeders pack, I was meaning to ask if you had found it. They also include a new version using a Chiang Mai thai, as opposed to the Koh Chang/Hmong. Supposedly an even longer flower. Golden Tiger is a fascinating strain, so thank you for sharing your experience!
I've got one "rotten" pheno as a female now, I used the male version to make seeds recently and now I'm testing this girl, rank garlic and onion rotting mango stank 20191121_024159.jpg

So the rotten pheno started to smell like Pastrami over the last few days, take my on a meaty/mustard/coriander Spicy stank, it's really nice if you can believe it.

The plants are starting to show signs of being rootbound, nute issues. Reducing the nutes this week and including more Cal/mag. The lanky Thai pheno is showing nice trichome development, better than the other I had, the Malawi keeper is still the most frosty plant in the tent at about 5 weeks 11/13.IMG_20191219_185405831.jpgIMG_20191219_185426531.jpgIMG_20191219_185653317.jpgIMG_20191219_185238480.jpg

I'm harvesting some Golden tiger in about a weeks time. I thought I would start a thread for any onlookers and fellow Ace seeds growers who might be curious.

Smells range from carrot-mango to Lime-Mango and Mandarin orange. Height, must be managed indoors, and they require lots of root space otherwise when rootbound they stretch a bunch more and you'll start to see nutrient deficiencies.

Effect: depending on phenotype, the Meao Thai leaning plants last and last, very much a soaring racy effect. Malawi is almost the same with a slightly more introspective an clean in effect, better for wake and bake than the Thai.
Expect 4-6hr duration on a .5-1 gram joint. I'm not kidding, despite only smoking my own flowers for years, this stuff doesn't build tolerance like the others I grow. I want to see what the rosin potential on my keepers wind up being.

Flower time: ranging depending on light schedule. 12/12 most plants finish between 14-16 weeks. I flower my Golden Tiger on a 11/13 schedule so they only need about 12-14 weeks depending on how long I want to take them. The longer the better as far as duration of the high and quality/potency. Thai leaning plants take around a week and a half longer than the malawi.
I'm on my 3rd grow of Ace Seeds Golden Tiger

Amazing smoke but such a finiky bitch on nutes

What nutes did u use?
Strength compared to other strains?

I keep cutting back and back and back on nutes and keep getting bad tip burn

Any help is appreciated my friend

GT is extremely nute sensitive, I recommend low feed the entire flower. I used Advanced nutrients iguana juice for flower and grow big during veg.

I think the key to growing ptoper golden tiger is preventing root bound pots, root rot(overwatering) and too much nutrients. Keep it low and you will be rewarded.
As far as effect, i had about 40 plants to choose from and my favorite plant #22 golden tiger, I still consider far and away the best cannabis ive ever smoked. Most arent like this one. 4 hours of effect per gram I smoke. If I take a tolerance break its like the first time.

that sounds like a serious endorsement!

You'll like it
I'm sure I will. I planted three seeds and got three females but I was hoping for one male to make more seeds. I took clones before flowering so I'll just make some feminized seeds. I ended up with a couple different phenos. One is way behind the one I posted and appears to be much more Thai leaning. I'm thinking total flower time will be 16 weeks maybe more for that one.
