A good hydroponic set up

Hello everyone. So I've been wanting to grow for quite some time now and now that I legally can I figure its time to stop saying im gonna and to actually do it.

I've read up over the years about this and that and im fairly certain on how im gonna start aside from the hydroponics. Any ones in particular that shine above the rest or is it pretty similar results so long as the rig can hold it up and support root growth?

Most videos I've seen very seldom go over the cons of each system so its hard to make a decision comparatively.

Anyways thanks for your time.

Bro, you want to keep it simple for your first hydro grow so you can have less room for error.
Do a simple dwc bucket.
Get a 5 gal bucket, a lid, hydroton, a netpot and and airstone and airpump. Use rapid rooters to start your seeds.
You need a PH meter and a PPM meter.
Get good at adjusting the PH and PPM of your water.
Follow the rules and your first harvest will be a successful one.

and always, always use something like Hydroguard….Orca...Great White ect in your water
To be fair I just use h202 kills off anything unnecessary use at 1ml per litre then down o .5mil per litre later in flower and it’s cheap

Alright I wanted to thank you guys for helping me out but also not make this just a bump so ima put some vids on that ive been looking into for future ref to anyone that may be interested.

This one is a great vid gives really good info on the pros and cons of each system ( cant say how much it tells you as im a nub but seems like good info )

Mr.green is an old fav of mine but one I go back to cause he does such a damn good job of helping out with basic grower questions

I should maybe have started with this guy as he gives you more of the ideology of starting up a hydro system and not just for weed ( for someone like me I like the general knowledge )

Ok so nothing major but I thought it may help out for anyone in my position. Again I wanna thank all of you for adding to this and I hope the discussion can maybe even go further cause ive now got a few new things to check out.

First grow? I vote hempy buckets. If you want to get adventurous Ebb and Flow is the simplest and easier hydro to set up IMO. DWC is no good unless you can keep your water chilled, which adds expense and complexity.

Took me a while to get on the bennies train but theres no lookin back now. We love it.

Also shallow water recirculating hydro on a table works great :)

Google images search : hydroponic system

It will show you colored info graphics of the componants of each system and what they look like running .

You have lots of options, youll have to decide what works best in your space.

Maybe try youtube as well, search cannabis indoor grow rooms.

Take note how peoples setup look and try to imagine what will work with the space, time, resources you have available to you

I don't think so. My RDWC has gotten into the high 70's and stayed there before I got my chiller. Never had any problems as long as I ran Hydroguard.

DWC is going to give you the best results with the least work.
You want simplicity man. You are going to have to learn the basics like PPM and PH which is something in itself. You want something that is going to allow you to concentrate on things other than the mechanics of your system.
DWC
5 gal bucket - 5$
Reflective foil and tape to insulate bucket - 35 <---Optional but recommended
airpump and airstone - 35$
1/4 airline 7$
hydroton - 25$
netpots - 15$
GH Trio nutrients - 30$
Hydroguard Quart - 30$ <----- Not optional
PH Pen - 15$
PPM Pen -15$
5 ML Pipettes - 10$

If you have your lights and tent, then there it is.
That took about 4 minutes from memory.

If you can keep your temps down, then yes it will work with some sort of additive like hydrogaurd, sm-90, or at worst a drop of bleach. I like ebb and flow or drip systems because I can run much higher ambient temps without root rot. It cost alot of money where I live to constantly keep it at 75. To each their own!

Yeah, I swear by HG... of course... but when my friend tried running bennies he got slimed and went to sterile and has not had problems. I probably would only try that as a last resort if things got real bad.
