Flowering Tent

Paradise Seeds - Delahaze: Day 58 flowering -- I accidentally let this one suffer from underwatering for a day while I was gone on vacation...just got back a day ago, but it has recovered from what it looked like right when I got back, believe me...it was REALLY drooping. But hopefully she will make a recovery....hate that it happened in the last 2-3 weeks of her flowering.

Greenhouse Seeds - The Church: Day 34 flowering -- She was a slow starter on budding; didn't start seeing pistils after the 12/12 change for about 20 days into flowering, but now she is putting on some weight. Hope to see good things from her, as I chose this one for it's resiliency to mold, pests and disease since it is summer time here where I live.

Emerald Triangle - Blueberry Headband: Day 34 flowering -- I started this plant into 12/12 when she was about 14" tall and now she is about 2.7 feet tall even with some bending and training. She is about 4 inches taller than The Church's tallest bud. She is kind of a slow flowering plant to begin with as was the Church, but she is starting to take off now that it's almost week 5 of flowering.

Vegging tent
I have two TGA Qrazy Train that both sprouted on July 13. Waited a bit too long on the transplant, since I was on vacation, but you can see how they look a full 28 hours after transplanting to their new containers. I'll be vegging these another 2 weeks at least. You can see that one of them is a trifolate plant....started out with 3 cotyledon instead of the usual 2. This is slightly common with certain TGA strains, but I'm not sure how it affects yield really....I'm pretty sure that if I topped the plant it would grow 3 tops instead of 2.

I'll be sure to keep this thread updated a bit more than I have been the past month or two, lol....been lazy cause it's hot as hell outside.

How are you enjoying the air cooled hood? I cant imagine running hps without it!
Definitely! I did have 3 lights going back about a month ago and one was not air cooled. It made a 5-6 degree drop in temperature when I turned the non-air cooled one off, so i am saving up to get the third one air cooled or may just wait out the summer with only 2 lights then go back to 3 when it turns cool.

Woohoo!!!! I finally got A/C in the tent! My temperatures the past 4-5 weeks have been horrible because obviously, the tent is located in my garage, so there was no way to air condition the whole garage with all the air leaking from different places....Anyway, my temperatures past 4-5 weeks were in the mid to high 90's which is really bad lol But somehow I managed to still get some good bud off Flav and Cataract Kush....anyway, got a stand up portable A/C that is 6000BTU from walmart. Hate the odd sized ( it would be 5" diameter) dryer vent which it exhausts from, but i managed to rig it where the AC exhaust is coming out of my tent and then connecting to 6" ducting for a run of an extra 1.5-2 feet or so, then it exits to the outside of my house via a 6" dryer exhaust vent.

Old temperature was 94-98F @60-70 humidity
New temperature is 85-88F @ 50-55 humidity
(these temperatures taken with probe level with the tallest bud tops nearest the lights)

So I am really happy to have gotten both the temp and humidity down both at the same time.....I have the thermostat set to 85F on the AC unit...would set it lower, but it seems to not be able to cool the tent off much below 84F....and I want it to be cycling on and off throughout the night (day for the plants), not just staying on for a whole 12 hours....

Sounds great! I would Lovett build a grow area in my garage but it's today hot in Texas I would have to insulate room for that or a big a.c.

Yea I was going to get some drywall and wood and enclose a small space of my garage off just big enough for the tent, but it would just be too much work, cause my garage is about 11 feet tall, has little insulation to begin with, has a crappy roof that I would have to seal up, and i suck at building stuff, so I settled on spending $270 on a stand-up A/C and some dryer hose. Doesn't quite get the temps down to the awesome range of the 70's, but the mid 80's are WAY better than the high 90's lol.

Oh, plus now I got my lights running on a closed ventilation circuit....Air comes through the tent on one side through dryer hose, cools down both lights I got running right now, then goes out the top of the tent. Never mixes with the cooler tent air :) I'm ready to see how this improves my bud density, cause it's been a few months since I've had some nice dense bud growing due to the heat.

Also got some new soil amendments coming my way so i can make some more Super Soil....bloom bat guano, picked up 30 pounds of pure worm poop from a local grower, powdered dolomite lime, kelp meal, blood and bone meal, and some more azomite. ....should be good to go!!! :)

Right now I got 2 x 400watt HPS each in a huge ass Airflow reflector to give me more light dispersal and keep em cool at the same time. I'm only using half of my tent to grow in right now...and got the 3rd light off to keep temps in the 80s. I completely suck at carpentry bro...I used to be big into wanting loud ass bass in my car, and tried building a few boxes for my subwoofers....if i can't build a square box that doesn't leak air for subwoofers, im pretty sure I wouldn't be able to build a small room, LOL. But it's all good. I've been monitoring my tent all day long to see how the temperature holds up.

Lights off: AC set at 86F, stays around 83-86F and this is during the actual daytime when its hot as hell (100+F) outside
Lights on: AC set at 86F, stays within 85-88F when outside temp at night averages 92-94F

I'll throw some pictures up of the progress tonight or tomorrow :)

Lol I modified a sub box one time it was ok for the most part then tithe front popped off!!! Lol that sucked!! Thacts not bad for temps now then I have a I'll 1.5x1.5'x4' tent in my closet that I'm going to set up with a 150w hps that Im going to make a cooltube for so it will be caban filter cooltube fan out and with out the filter it stays about 84-88 In the day time haven't run at nite yet tho and going to set up the cool tube today

hell yea bro i got a friend that has the same size tent with a 150watt HPS inside it. I'm gonna end up getting me a 3rd tent about that size, maybe a few inches bigger so i can put one nice sized plant inside it and run it in a hydro setup. That's gotta wait til october when it cools down more though unfortunately...

Well, it has only been 3 days that I have had A/C inside my tent, but I can already tell my plants LOVE it....budding has exploded on my two younger plants, while my Delahaze is starting to really show signs of ripening nicely.

Delahaze: Day 66----The buds are surprisingly very dense on this plant for such a Sativa haze influenced plant. Tons of resin and a very nice earthy pine smell to it that is not too pungent unless you brush up against a bud slightly. Under a 100x scope, the glands are all cloudy; can't see but 1 or 2 clear and same with amber colored. The hairs, which were still protruding out pretty far on day 58, are now almost all orange, some brown, and have started receding back into the bud. Gonna give this one probably another week, then harvest her. You can't tell from the HPS lighting in the pictures, but this one has faded mostly to yellow water leaves and they are starting to fall off about 5 or 6 each day that I check on the plants. Gonna flush her with about 5 gallons of water tonight.

Blueberry Headband: Day 41---- I think the hot temperatures the past few weeks have made this one slow to flower, but the cooler temperatures the past 3 days have made it literally take off budding wise. A week ago, you could still see each individual bud site, but they are starting to overlap nicely. Think this one is gonna produce some huge tops!

The Church: Day 41 ---- This one also loves the cooler temperatures over the past 3 days. These buds are gonna be super dense I already can tell. Starting to gain some girth on the tops and they are filling down the branches nicely. I grew this same strain about 2 years ago and got some really nice results.

Still got my two TGA Qrazy Train's vegging in my other tent. Not much to report on them besides they are growing really nicely :) Definitely plan on vegging them another 2 weeks at least. When they get transplanted to their 5 gallon smart pots in a week or so, I might top them and try out the Main Lining technique....time will tell ;)

Well, I plan on throwing down 100 bucks on a 3rd air coolable fixture for my 3rd 400watt bulb (which I have turned off right now due to heat issues). Don't have enough room in the tent for this 3rd one to be one of the big Airflow fixtures like my other 2, so I'm just going with an EasyCool 6 reflector that is 18"L x 15"W x 7.5"D. My Airflow reflectors both have Lumatek ballasts and Lumatek 400watt digital bulbs, but this 3rd fixture is just gonna house a 400watt Agromax HPS bulb fired by a standard 400watt magnetic ballast.

I figured it's a shame to have this big tent with a new A/C in it and only be using half the tent's grow space since the 3rd light is off, lol. My Qrazy Train babies are vegging nicely and will want a new home in the flowering tent pretty soon ;) I also planted a DNA Feminized Rocklock seed today. Hoping it will sprout within the next couple days, because I want to fill this tent up!!

Heck yea things are looking up for a change! Glad that headache is over....heat was really starting to get outta hand...it's been 102 almost every day the past 2 weeks and hasn't cooled off at nighttime (when i run the lights) much below 94. But the days seem to be getting shorter, so maybe it will start getting a bit cooler outside where i don't have to run my AC 24/7 lol. I'm gonna hate the electricity bill this coming month...

Cut down Delahaze last night....makes it 72 days flowering after only 8 days vegging. 80 days from seed to harvest is GREAT, considering my usual overall turnaround for a plant from seed to harvest averages 92-95 days. I usually vegg my plants 25-30 days....

Anyway, she looks to have yielded a little lower than average of my other plants (I'd guess around 2oz), but that is due to me only vegging her 8 days...Overall plant measurements were 25 inches tall and 23 inches wide. So a pretty compact plant when vegged and topped at the first or 2nd internode.

Buds are drying and will probably be ready for mason jars in 3 days....storms have passed here and the humidity has dropped down to about 55% outside and about 50% in my carport/grow area. I'll be sure to give a smoke report when the time comes for smoking.

Here is my first attempt at main-lining my two Qrazy Train plants. Both are still unknown sex, but it will be good experience even if they turn out to be males just to get this technique down I think. As you know if you've been following my thread, one of my Qrazy Trains is a trifolate. I ended up taking clones of it, but not sure how they will do, because i had some old cloning powder from home depot and it seemed a bit moist when i used it. Anyway, not too worried about clones.

The regular QT was topped above the 1st node because that node seemed to have the best growth. I then bound to the soil, but will be binding the stems to the lower part of the plant itself when I get some long twist ties. The trifolate QT was topped above the 2nd node and was also bound to the soil, after I took the 1st node off for clones. Both pictures show the plants when bound before i figured out it was a better idea to move the fan leaves around for better light distribution. Anyway, here is the progress. I'll get some pictures of my Church and BB Headband in the flowering tent up sometime later tonight when the lights come on.
