270w Blurple "Money Maker" grow

Plants are looking very good so far, still running a combination of powerfeed seasol and hydro grow nutrients without much issue, will give it another week before switching to bloom feed.

I'm actually really surprised at how mature the bud sites look for day 10 of flower, I'm putting it down to my previous grows barely having a veg period and never showing their sex before flowering.



Also - new seeds have arrived from seedsman, northern lights (00 Seeds), cheese (seedsman, freebie seed) and Hindu Kush (Sensai Seeds)

Looking good.

Slightly concerned at the ultra short node spacing of these plants, doing some LST for the next couple of weeks to try and open them up.

14 days if 12/12, the change to flower has really surprised me compared to my white widow grows.

Node spacing and just the sheer speed of transition of veg to flower, feels 2 weeks faster at least in development stage of flower

Feel free to check my last grow, I posted updates almost daily.

That was with hydro though, this is a very different grow. I just wanted a quick grow while my new seeds arrived

Just on this, I’m only growing in 1l pots. I was thinking about it last night when planning a grow for a friend.

Both of us would like a variety of weed strains and around 1/2-1oz/m in bud. Total yield per grow no longer becomes an issue when you have a constant addition of new small clones ever 4 weeks or so going into the tent. I could comfortably fit 6 of these plants in a 2x2 and pull 1/2-1oz from each per month from harvesting 1 or 2 of the plants each time and then replace with new clones (typical SOG perpetual grow)

This is the first time using clones so it's really interesting to see the growth pattern

There will always be massive limitations on a 2x2 with the addition of time limits, finding ways to have a setup that flowers quickly and often while being able to be deconstructed and moved on a few minutes notice if needed is difficult. Traditional metrics like grams per watt no longer apply, something like yield per quarter could be more effective.

I've found that DWC was great for veg but the setup was clunky and loud for a 2x2 and was too much effort to be quickly moved or deconstructed and concealed. I also found that seed to harvest in 12 weeks is a massive massive challenge and will constantly come under attack for the lack of a veg period and subsequent yield. Also on yield, that will also be compromised due to time limits, realistically it takes 4 weeks from seed before flipping to flower, that leaves just 8 weeks to flower, harvest and dry.

Having multiple small mothers may solve this, easily moved from the tent to a windowsill to avoid flowering, quick to be concealed and allows full 12 weeks for clones to flower and harvest.

You could have 4 autos in few liter pots, harvest one every few weeks and plant a new one. Mephisto genetics has a lot of good quality strains that are not only potent, but fast as well. I know about space limitations all too well as I'm using a 13" x 13" x 20" grow tent with a 60w LED. There's no way I could get a cycle going, I just plant one seed and after I've harvested the plant I plant a new one, it's slow. Straight coco coir is good if you want an easy hydro experience.

Ha, you know my pain

I have had a lot of issues with getting seeds over the border, I would worry about missing a cycle if I was running auto seeds although the freedom of the light cycle would be a great benefit. I thought about straight coco but I like the idea of having a 50+% mix of soil for nutrient retention. With having pretty much 1l pot sized mothers they are super easy to move around and maintain (trim roots etc). I like to think of it as this "

- 2 weeks prior to property inspections (which are every 90 days) I would like to have 3-6 rooted clones in veg
- The day of the inspection they are nowhere to be seen, tent is packed away, lights are in a box and filter/exhaust is under the bed.
- No smell, everything is concealed and I don't have any hassle and I have a really good idea of the genetics and quality of the clones that will have 10 weeks to fully mature in 12/12.

You guys were definitely right about the plants not filling up the space, this pheno has completely stopped stretching and is already putting on weight. This is the complete opposite to my last white widow grow that stretched like an absolute mofo for the first 4 weeks of flower before starting to really develop buds.

Really excited for the money maker, it's absolutely packed with bud sites and will be an excellent grow from the looks of it when I thought this qtr was lost after the delay in seeds. Looking at the amount and size of the bud sites I would expect 45-60g from the two plants, awesome low maintenance personal use amount. Very heavy body high, awesome night time weed.

I've germinated my northern lights and cheese strains, going to attempt to turn them into mini mother plants in preparation for the next grow (1 plant per sq/ft). Also considering trying my hand at regenerating one of the money makers, very interested to see the process after watching the Weed In A Pot youtube series.

Day 18 of flower, all I've done so far is tie down 2 stems on 1 plant and 1 stem on the other, no topping, no defoliation, no witchcraft or obsessing over every node like my last grow.

Day 21 post flip, now totally transitioned to bloom nutrients, slightly disappointed that the plant didn't stretch nearly as much as the white widow but over the moon at how dense the plant is and the nug development at day 21 of 12/12.



Seedsman cheese is finally above ground, hopefully 4-5 weeks before I can start taking cuttings. Hindu Kush seed didn't make it, first time busting the tap root :/ Northern lights has the tap root and is currently in soil, was around 36 hours behind the cheese seed, might start up another one if it doesn't pop out in the next few days.

Day 23, moved the plant closer to the lights. Missed one of the watering days so some of the leaves turned yellow, nothing big and it was only old growth. I have spent MINIMAL time on this grow, I'm sure with bigger pots and some extra time in veg and training the yield would be a lot more impressive but I never expected to have to wait so long for my new seeds, getting the clones was purely by coincidence.

Seedsman Cheese and 00 Seeds Northern Lights have both cracked the soil, Hindu Kush didn't make it for this run so I will have another go after seeing what the other two can do. I will be keeping the Cheese and Northern Lights in 100ml pots and taking the occasional cutting, I hope to have 2+ clones of each ready to flower in early November and ready for new years.

For anybody with experience with Cheese, how bad is the smell? my grows so far have been pretty non existent with my small carbon filter on.

Removed some of the dead leaves, this pheno is light years ahead in development compared my white widow grows at the same stage. If I had my time again I would definitely grow another heavy indica plant as a first grow.

Day 26 - seedlings are still alive which is always a positive.

Money maker continues to chunk up and even has a good amount of the white hairs starting to turn red, I think she could be done around week 8 but I'll base it on the trichomes. This strain would definitely benefit from more veg but I'm more interested in getting started on the cheese and northern lights grow.

Day 27 - starting to get a little more resin which is cool.

I think I've only given 4 real feeds so far, so definitely on the underfed spectrum but not at all sure how to handle soil that already has some fertilizer. My next grow is going to be planned out a lot more
