24 Hours of Darkness

I have heard a lot about this, but only on a small scale. (For instance, 3 or 4 days in complete darkness.)
Now, I was recently on Attitude seeds, and saw Dutch Passions White Widow, and on the info box, it says too throw the plants into FULL darkness for the last two weeks (Weeks 8-10)
I was wondering if anyone can back this theory up for me, I mean...Shit if the plant looks the way it does in the Promo picture, me want.
Please and Thank you for the advice guys.
(Thought this would be an advanced growing technique.)

I have tried 24 hours quite a few times. It doesnt seem to make much difference from what I can tell. I have left a few for 48 hours. Those MIGHT have had abit more of a resiny coating on them. They were stickier. I have left two in for 72 hours. I didnt like it when I took them out. The leaves were completely bent over, it looked HORRIBLE. Once again they were stickier to the touch, especially during the cutting/trimming process. Cant say that I saw any difference in trichomes though. From my experiences up to 72 hours didnt really make enough difference for me to call it worth doing. I have heard that for it to actually help it does need to be in the dark period for several more days. Maybe a week will make a difference.
If you decide to go that route, try to update us.

i m going to try ti to this time. i m half way through week 3 with ww they just getting really frosty. odd issue with them been really light feeders. but all in all look amazing. but for the last 2 weeks. i will drop there ec down to nothing and drop the light to 10 hours the last week on 8 hours then 48 hours darkness for 2 days with just water and boost. i will update my journal to with pics and info on how this goes. just so busy for an idle man i never get round to it. im the same seen so much about this. but with out real proof to the difference it makes aprt from the odd promo pic. i got my ww from nirvanna they advise this to. so lets give it a try

i saw frost form on the leafs towards the buds alot after 48 hours i really liked the results made all my strains a little more frostier

2 weeks sounds like a little to much but might be a super trick there letting out and it might work like crazy

WHAT DOES IT SAY TO FEED THEM DURING THE 2 WEEKS DARK ?

Flush with cold tap water right before you kill the lights (only if you're doing at least 2 days in dark).
why would you do that and increase the humidity and water concentration in the bud? surely that is only going to increase the chances of rot/mould/mildew setting in.
