2 x 315 LEC lights via a Dual Sun System for 4x4 tent?

Are you aware that the master growers producing the dankest flowers are pretty much all in agreement that temps over 80 degrees cause volatilization of terps? :dunce:
I've met exactly no 'master growers' with degrees in horticulture.

That's a problem in this industry the rest of the at business is still laughing at us about.

The de 630 cmh from growers house will do better than 2 315's in a 4x4 tent. A 315 in the center with Samsung strips surrounding it would probably be awesome though.

No it won't. It will just make a nasty hotspot in the middle while leaving the corners in the dark.
Have you tried It? I have and the 2 315's have dark sides, the 630 de has a perfect spread for a 4x4. Same plants at same time and the 630 is going to yield much better than the dual 315's. The 630 actually stays cooler as well but that's probably because of the glass cover.

I was expecting the dual 315's to do alot better but I was wrong. The only reason I got a de 630 is because I already had a sun system ac/de hood but now I'm glad I did. I'll be trying the single 315 with led supplementing it to try and match the 630 now.

Interesting. Counterintuitive.

Does it have the low frequency square wave ballast?
Study the spectrum output graphs of any and all lamps you're interested in and use that data to make your choice.

Low Frequency Square Wave ballast is the key to the efficiency of the lamp; it doesn't save energy, it just drives the lamp to produce 30% more light with the same draw.

An easy way to tell if your ballast is a LFSW type is to take a cellphone picture while it and no other light source is running. If the pic has those funky light and dark bars in it, you've been screwed.

I actually won a hortilux eye 315 at a grand opening event the day after I had flipped to 12/12 in my 4x4. don't laugh but I was using an industrial 400w MH right of the wharehouse ceiling the 315's foot print is 3x3 but even the ladies on the outside are lovin it and don't look any smaller. I honestly cant imagine a 630 in there

I thought LECs don’t require as much cooling?

And how much better are LECs honestly than an HPS setup? The price difference seems substantial — especially factoring in the different fixture/ballast etc.
They are definitely as hot as HPS. I ran two 315s in a 4x4 flood and drain. They are great lights, I got a great yield. I ran the growers choice 3k-r. I since moved them to veg lights. LED is the way to go if youre buying new lights. Cob or quantum, can't lose really either way. They are all around better. The yield is better, quality is better, they use less power, and the heat is more manageable with no IR light heating the plants up.

To settle debate just look at btu’s clearly cmh/lec less than hps but more then LED ... ok yea that doesn’t directly translate to temp raising but these three are so wildly apart that should be enough to settle that .,. I don’t veg under my 315s and I’ve run both 630 and two 315s on movers the 630 is def hotter but that’s largly cause of the dual ballasts and I’m yet to see that with a remote ballast... truth is I sold my 630 after three years and bought another 315 and a mover ... less heat remote ballasts OUTSIDE OF TENT and no hot spots ... for th record I veg under a NEXTLIGHT VEG8 saves the power over the 8-bulb T5

I just bought every bottle Advance Nutrients has to offer.. Im pretty sure that qualifies me as a master grower with an honorary phd in horticulture bullshit.. Does that count?
