you dont need to be using that big ass bulb and all that electricity for your seedlings. just get a couple cfls or a flouro tube. youre wasting energy bigtime.

How long would you keep them on 24 hrs? I am running a similar set up with 18/6...

Looks like you are getting some good results! Those cfl's really do the trick don't they...? They work even better if you get the domed worklights I mentioned before. Some may disagree with me about this, but you can leave the clf's on 24 hrs until you decide to put them into flower - go straight from 24 to 12 when they are at least 2 weeks from sprout (3 weeks for sativas). Some will say that the plants need a rest, but that really isn't so. Maybe you get a little smaller yield, but the point is, you can leave them on 24/7 and it doesn't harm the plant - they grow quick and they grow bushy. I've done it on a half dozen occasions.

Is that a clone in the red pot? looks really good man. I guess I will leave mine on all day if thats been speeding up your growth rate.
I have tried the reflector type and the spiral type... The reflector type is just not bright enough. The bulb is enclosed and although it reflects, glass is only 75% clear or so, so a naked CFL should produce more light. A small reflector around the back of the CFL might help, without a lense of any sort...

damn. we are about on the same stage, but I had only 15 seeds or so, and so far only two have sprouted. Wish I had more success rate so I could see some different growth rates... Stopped smoking mids years back and you know headies are less likely to find seeds, if any!
But it seems the headies seeds are more miss than hit. How many grows you have under your belt? this will be my third grow, unfortunately (don't you wish you were growing since day 1 of being a pot head?
