It looks like the nugs on the hydro hit side have a higher calyx to lead ratio than the solar spec in the photos. Is that accurate or is it just the photos?
Not sure about the calyx ratio. It's gotta lotta stem to leaf ratio, ha! Seriously tho, just so much more bud on every branch on the Amare side. There's more photosynthetic action going on w/ the white light so there's more leaf & bud.
As for the T-8 UVB-bulb. Its cool n all but I think x2 ,T-5, 18" bulbs or UV diodes would've been more effective honestly. Either way, I'm getting plenty of trichs.

You think the UV was noticeably helpful?

Another 5 days I'd say. Leaves still haven't started to fade. To much CoCo-LoCo in my mix = To much N in flower. Just one of many less then optimal conditions to this grow. I'll have more time to attend the grow next run. It will look much better all around. Some pics. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Harvested the HH yesterday. All I can say is it is 100% deffinetly not made for flowering Marijuana.
All small shit & non of the colas formed. Meaning anything that might've been a cola is just 3-5 pine-cone shaped buds that all spread open upon trimming.
Very lil haul off the Hydroponics Hut. Garbage. Total & complete sewage garbage.
Not even half way done trimming the Amare & already have 3x more on the rack & its bomb. Totally bomb! I'm so happy w/ my Amare I may just poke a COB out if its on my lap!

This is a great journal Hybrid. You definitely know your stuff and it seems like you killed it with the Amare. I think my favorite thing which was also stated here is there is no claims or false claims. Basically it's a good powerful piece, use it and see for yourself. Then phenomenal grow journals like this prove its power and quality.

Post the #'s now. You'll see the huge differance in the 2 lights. Thanks for tuning in!

Ok folks, results are in. I want people to keep in mind that both lights can do better as these plants were very poorly vegged & I didn't tend & care for this garden like I would've wanted. But the #'s are the facts & the difference will always remain.
Both sides had more then enough plant to max out the lights potential within these grow circumstances.
As a recap, I last grew GG#4 w/ same plants under HPS w/ about 1200w in a 3'x5' if I divided space, = 1.5 lb w/ 1200w HPS, 2 of the same plants.
Results in a 4'x4' w/ x3 O.C. GG#4's :

Hydroponics Hut X5-500 = 220 g / 7.8 oz. / .48 lb
- .44 GPW

Amare Technologies SE-450 = 508 g / 18.4 oz / 1.13 lb.
- 1.12 GPW:clap: W/O lenses

Let this show people how drastic a few hundred bucks on your LED purchase can be. Save a few hundred today & loss thousands within your first two grows.
No wonder LED growing has had such a bad rep. There must be so many people that have had nothing to compare to & thought their light was just fine.
I compare these lights to my HPS.
The SE-450 & Amare Tech. has past the test for me. I will be purchasing more lights from them as my primary lighting in my new LED room.

Amare buds & there's allot more!

Hydroponics Hut ONLY bud.image.jpg

I hope that this helps growers trying to decide on their LED purchases. It can be difficult, I know :wall:.
There's tons of companies using wild claims to sell these lights. The HH said their spectrum & lights "exceed the growth of the sun itself". Oooohhh did I want to believe that. Amare made no claims & simply said "the results will speak for themselves". Best customer service I've ever had to.
I'll be getting some new Amares soon & will do another thread or maybe set this one up sooner then later & keep it going, as I broke down this room. I only built it to do this experiment.
Thank you everyone for joining me here & your support. Threads open still for chat & I'll help anyone I can. Peace!

Impressive. You looking at the new Pro9 model? I'm tempted to buy 2 of them to cover my 5x9, but what I've read about Amare is the issue with the lenses and having to be at least 48" above canopy.

From Amare:

What is the area that a single 450+uvb will sufficiently cover?

Flower: 4x4@24" no lenses, @32" with lenses. veg: 4.5x4.55@28" no lenses, @36" with lenses.

Yes, I've been considering it for awhile but I have the same issues with ceiling hight & my plants are pretty large. I'd like to see the same model made at 450w personally. I like all the Monos in it. I need about 450 Amare watts a plant personally to get the most out of each one. My quota each grow is one pound a plant in my normal grow conditions & enviornment. The grow on this thread is just something I threw together to do this much needed comparison. Already broke down the room.
I don't think the Pro-9 has to be 48" to grow but does need to be to accomplish the 5'x5' footprint. I may get one anyways & use it w/o lenses as I see my 450 did great w/o them. Dying to use them though.

Yup im torn. Its between amare or johnson for me. Johnson has the cx9 which uses the cxa3070 but they have a newer, air cooled model coming out that uses the cxb3950. The cx9 is like 1000 but the new model will be priced similar to their current cxb8 model which is 1600

Nice! Did you know Amare has some new Pro-series coming out next month that are going to be similiar to the new SES-250 but bigger with 3590's & running between 450-500watts w/ 10 watters & colored monos? It will be long like the SES-250 & give the best coverage. 3590's w/ or w/o lenses, reflectors & enhanced white. I'm on it personally. Priced well too!
Johnson stayed w/ CXA's for awhile hu? Good luck on your decision. You gotta spot ready to go? Can't wait to get the next Amare grow going. I'll be. Transplanting to 3 gall. Soon & will set up the 450 for veg as I have yet to try it really. By the time their ready for flower I'll have my new pro-series 500's.
I told Hydroponics Hut about how dissatisfied I was w/ the light & that it had a design issue, trapping dirt in the lenses. They told me my 30 days was up & to try to sell it on e-bay. I said I'd be selling a lemon & ripping someone else off & im not interested in that route. They won't return the light no matter what it seems. So much for my 3 yr. Warrenty. Fuckers.
Watch out for companies like this. I know Amares got my back if I ever had the smallest issue. They love helping you to be happy.

So 2 daisy chained tona circuit would mean 2 per electrical circuit or 2 per daisy chain into an outlet? I was thinking 2 pro 9s for my 5x9

No! 2 Pro-9's is to much. I'm not positive if the 450's can be linked but asking Victor would be your best bet.
If you look at the link I provided it shows the top of the 450 and there are two plugs. One for power and one for daisy chain
