  • Ben, we need a few more pictures of the entire plant to see how you have it set up.

Be glad to offer advice, for what it is worth, if I can.

That would be really nice. Knowledge-like I feel all naked right now. Here come the photos, hope they will help you out. Sorry for the delay, but wasnt at home to shoot some new ones :) As you will see, only one of the three plants has been mainlined, that is the one where a photo has been taken from above to show the eight main colas. Thanks a lot man, really hope to hear from you! :) View attachment 2903751View attachment 2903752View attachment 2903753View attachment 2903754View attachment 2903755

Stupid question here, but how do you get to those to water them? My room is jammed packed and its driving me nuts.

I really, really, really feel like buying seeds!!!! Just threw my last two into the damp paper towel :) it's annoying to be this space limited, Im not even much of a smoker, I just love growing them. Especially with mainlining, the LSD from Barneys is really digging it. Of the three plants, it is the best growing, and the others have just been growing naturally. (unknown seed and Bubba Kusk from HSO)

  • Its not much of a problem, I have the 5-gal geopots with handels. THey are pretty handy. Secondly, my grow room is smaller than what it appears to be. I only have 53cm x90 cm. and on the print, I have probably 20-25% that is not covered by the pots. So I can easily put my watering jars in there :)
    Hadnt seen your question earlier

Some stats and pictures from tonight.
Day 37 of 12/12.

Temp hi 22.3C
Temp lo 17.5C is almost time to block a couple of intakes.
RH hi 46%
RH lo 36%
pH 6.0
EC in 1.0.
EC out 1.2.

My mix tonight contained only PK1314 and Mg with some ZYM and Rhizotonic. Plants are looking lovely as I think you'll all agree.

As green as the clones are when out of the room is as green as everything inside.

Whole room shots.

Clones.

Mainlined girls.

OG KUSH mainline

Critical+ mainline

Pineapple skunk mainline

Hello fellow Mainliners. Very nice Mainlining! and Thanks Nugbuckets for the great tutorial. I think Im ready to try it after studying it for some time, still a bit nervous.
I would like to attempt a mainline in my Phototron Grow Unit. Do you think the Phototron is to tall and skinny to attempt a mainline in? Here is a picture of it.I have about 40 inches of height to work with and its 14 inches across in an octagonal shape. Oh and I want to grow the Breeders Boutique Dog kush in it for the mainline.:weed:

wow, I didn't think people ever used those things High Times advertised 20-30 years ago, crazy. Although I must say the grow tents look and seem way more manageable in probably the same approx. space. Just sayin', good luck....... Peace

I have a friend with a Phototron, and I do think it is going to be too small for mainlining. Based on what I see with his, I think it would be best suited for a 12/12 from seed with a single plant. Maybe with a small amount of LST or supercropping to get a little extra side growth.

Does it have a cover for your night cycles? That is one fancy looking thing, never seen it before.... good luck

As per the training, mainling could work, but if this is your first grow i would suggest looking into LST and just repeating topping keeping it short and bushy, stick with kush's afghans etc ...indicas dom's so they don't get too tall, and yeah look into 12/12 from seed, some members do really well with it... if you have experience with a couple these things, then yeah mainlining could work for one plant, you have 15 inch you said i think, you could mainline for 8 and stay within 15"...

He could start small and do a 4 cola mainline. Very limited space though.

Jondaman, looking very nice indeed. Three plants? Need to look at your journal and see the size of your grow space.

Peace out,

In total I have 3 mainline girls from seed with 4 clones.

Mainliners
DINAFEM CRITICAL+
HSO OG KUSH
HSO PINEAPPLE SKUNK

Clones
2 critical+ clones
OG KUSH clone
Pineapple skunk clone.

My walk in closet measures 7x3.2x8ft.

I utilise a 3.2x3.2 approx footprint with my 400w LUMATEK with Sylvania GROLUX lamp, ADJUST A WING REFLECTOR, 6" 250CFM fan, 6" 600CFM filter, SMS SMART FAN CONTROLLER, TUBULAR HEATER, DEHUMIDIFIER, OSC fan.

I'm trying to break the 450g dry barrier that I seem to be stuck under lol.

Last few grows have given me 439g, 427g so I thought I would try mainline.

Look in BUDOLSKIE'S mainline journal and you'll find my pics.

I love that pod! I might not be able to argue for the
expense, but so cool. :0)

I think that a 4-top ML might work....tight though.

Thank you for all your input. I have 4 years of experience growing in the Phototron and usually just top once and then LST due to its size. I have done plenty of 12/12 from seeds and it works great in the TRon, but It ends up I usually only use 1/2 of the vertical space of the Phototrons height when I 12/12 from seed...Its always a challenge keeping the girls away from the side lights and getting burned. Looking back at the last girl, which is Alien Genetics Fruity pebbles OG kush , that I grew in the Phototron... I ended up with 4 main colas and a lot of smaller lower branching... I only yielded 34 grams...So maybe doing a mainline for 4 main colas would work?!!I used a one gallon smart pot. and she didn't quite make it to the top, but closer then a 12/12 fro seed. Java, I use dark plastic covers that I Velcro to the panels to keep her dark at night. and keep her in a dark closet with plenty of ventilation and the keep a few side panels lifted up with rulers for ventilation. Again, thank you all very much for the help and I will be back with pix once I get things rolling!!! have a great weekend!Peace owt AmbzView attachment 2905682View attachment 2905683View attachment 2905685

This picture is an example of how the manifold system should work, and how when not mainlined correctly makes a big difference.

20131124_084537.jpg

The two red arrows are point to two branches the way it is supposed to be off of one shoot.

The two bottom yellow arrows are pointing to two branches that came off of where one branch should have been but it broke so I tried to make it work. The upper yellow arrow points to the one branch coming off of the same shoot, that is what is should look like.

The difference, as you can see, is the size of the two smaller branches compared to the larger branch with all three being on the same shoot. If the main shoot is pulling 100% of it's capacity to feed the 8 branches then that's 12.5% of the feed to each branch. The two smaller branches on that shoot are receiving 6.25% of the feed each and the larger branch is receiving 12.5%. The two smaller branches are receiving 25% each of the available feed off that shoot while the larger branch is receiving 50% and they are less than 50% of the size of the larger branch. That is the reason for the difference in the size of the buds on that shoot. I believe that it is the largest of all the branches because it being larger than the smaller two it is taken in more feed that any of the other shoots.

I hope that makes sense, I know I am a bit confused. Damned ole' White Widow in the morning will do that to you, LOL.

All in all just don't break any shoot off when building your manifold.

If someone can explain it better, please do!

Peace out,

GR

For 27 days of 12/12 she is really getting frosty, what will she do when I turn the two UV florescence on her?

Question,

When should I begin removing sun/fan/sugar leaves?
i believe I have enough other medium leaves for needed photosynthesis, what does someone in the know think?
I would like some help here.

I leave those until they fall off.

All they do is support growth elsewhere.

Just my $0.02.

JD

P.S. I sometime take them if they are badly shading
something I want to see mature better.

i read the first three pages, but didn't wanna keep going so i thought i'd ask. to the op, after you're done with all the sculpting, how much time will have passed before they get put into flower?
