Let's blame Obama Care

Nothing is what we have had. Nothing is on track to make the divison between classes even worse than it already is, nothing does not work, something may not work either but it is at long last worth a try.

at long last? If the website is anything to go by, it's not looking good...

While I agree in part, I am sceptical that all Americans should accept the current system based on "it's better than nothing"... Complacency shouldn't become a pillar of a healthcare system

A double post I know, but i reread what you said. Indeed complacency is exactly the pillar of our recent health care system. "just wait and I'm sure it will change for the better".

So long as "they" actually believe that someone is getting something for nothing they will continue to bleet about THEIR situation and how the government that bad bad entity is making them less free. Free to be abused by rampant corporatism, free to be denied insurance while costing the rate payer and tax payer huge sums. Oh no, that disaster, personal, health or environmental will never ever happen to them because they live a good, god fearing life. It will only happen to the "takers".

I'm not talking for all my conservative friends but speaking of healthcare, it's not so much the problem that someone is getting something for free.
For me it's the simple fact that government is forcing me to buy something.
I want the right to choose whether or not I need it or want it, the government is taking away that right from me.

Why are you raging about the government wanting you to be healthy? Why not focus your rage on legalization of marijuana? Or equal rights for gays, knowing that is near and dear to your heart. Why vote against your livelihood?

Tough deal, California. It is a state that governs itself by direct vote of people who rarely, as a whole, know the facts. It also tends not to let it's elected lawmakers stay lawmakers long enough to become expert at... making laws.

While this is tangential, I find it a compelling argument against direct democracy. I like having some governors (in the engineering sense) installed on the machine.

Regulation is wrought with over-complexity and uncontrollable breakdown when abused. But that does not justify removing all regulation in its place. There is never a right answer for everyone, just a right answer for the many [that are looking for it].

At the same time, our species excels at breeding folks who will abuse regulations in their search for advantage. The equilibrium between regulation, opportunity and societal vitality is very much a dynamic thing, in need of constant and strenuous adjustment. Jmo.

I wholeheartedly agree. You'll find no support for 'leechers' from me.
