Venting through a Radon Mitigation system?

I am planning my first grow. I am thinking that I will have a 250w HPS system and room will be 3x3x7. My place is already outfitted with a radon ventilation system. The system services 2 crawl spaces and has a 170 CFM fan mounted outside the house with a chimney that extends a few feet above the roofline. The radon system uses 2 inch PVC.

Can I tie into the radon system to vent my room? If so, can do I need an inline fan to boost airflow?

you could and yes i would add a fan to boost airflow. use a carbon filter cause your stank is going straight out side though.

you just have to make sure the intakes for each crawl space are functioning properly and you should be good to go. or you could always vent into exhaust stack(where your heat and hot water tank exhaust into) and exhaust into that.

That's a better idea. But with only a 250 and a 3x3 room. If you use a filter I would just dump it right into the attic. It's not that hot and attics have vents that will easy support what your adding.

You'll need to run it on a Y-joint because you probably don't want to draw the radon-bearing air through your grow. In that case, you need to ensure uninterrupted negative pressure at both intakes. It might work with your indicated cfm. I used a 100cfm to keep a 600 HPS cool, back in the day. cn

Unfortunately warm moist area going straight into your attic is a bad idea, it can cause moisture build-up and lead to mold and rotten wood. You should always vent directly outside your house, never directly into the attic.

A 250w coming from a 3x3 tent is nothing. The simple air displacement in the attic drops the temps and humidity in seconds. If it was a larger system I would of never said that.

I am not privy to the weather of where this person is growing, but if his attic ever gets cold and that warm air hits cold surfaces in the attic, it is going to cause condensation and it is going to cause mold. That is why in most cold regions they have it as code for all vents in bathrooms to run directly out of the house. That is a simple bathroom fan venting a 10 minute shower, imagine constantly venting warm air coming out of a grow tent?

I'm just airing on the side of caution is all.

And I respect that. But in areas with that code also make them use R17 insulation. So the 250 would have any effect. But a 600-1000 would. But still I would say run ducting to your outside if you can.
