Will using steam kill spider mites?

The thought of having spider mites literally makes my skin crawl! I've tried bombing, Azamax, & wiping down each plant leaf by leaf. I have a hand held steamer & I thought that maybe if I went through each leaf with a QUICK swipe of steam that it might kill them. Quick being I don't want to kill my plants... just the infestation. Has anyone tried it? If so, did it kill the mites and not the plants?

Hmmm....I spent the money on some Avid...but again this morning there was a web strand going all across the tent from one plant on one side, to another on the other side...so I am not terribly impressed with the Avid...then again does it kill on contact, as well as being systemic? Or is it just a slow acting systemic killer?
I think the only way to get rid of spider mites is to let all your plants finish and then clean everything out and leave the tents empty for a week or 2...that way they all have to starve or leave...then start over with new seeds...
I was freaking fine for 4 years until I brought home a clone from a friend...and then bam! Effed!

and I think I watched something on TV where a guy got mites and tried to steam them and then vacuum them off, but it didn't work...

I would like to add a decent spraying device is of importance . I spent 2 bills or so on a atomist, its too harsh. a airless paint sprayer is what I should have bought, and a 5 gallon bottle of Mighty Wash!

Steam will probaly hurt the plants.
But so will mites.

I used No pest strips to kill them recently.
I put one in my small sealed cab.
During the dark period I put the infested plants in a box an sealed it with a no pest strip in there with em.
3 weeks an havent seen a mite back.

The only way to be sure is cleaning the cab out an starting fresh...

Overwintering females hibernate in ground litter or under the bark of trees or shrubs.

and i believe carpets, clothes, pets, upholstery. Once you have them eradication is damn near impossible, tents also seem to be great homes for the little bastards.

I have a vision of steamed greens.

Yeah that's what I was worried about. I didn't know if a QUICK shot of steam from a foot or so away would do anything. I'm just sick of those damn things. I can only imagine how many of those bastards I have in my house (my grow is in the master bedroom & bathroom). I have several plants so it's a pain in the ass to keep wiping leaves. Last night I bombed ALL of them. Woke up this morning, took a microscope to them & watched the bugs walk around like the bomb had no affect. :wall:

I've tried the no pest strips - it slimmed the population down like the other stuff I've tried but not enough for me to sleep well at night...

Ok, I just thought I would put it out there & see if anyone else has been as desperate as I am. I've never had mites before. I paid 60 bucks for 3 midsized clones a few months ago & ended up bringing mites into my grow. I have a perpetual grow now so I would hate to scrap everything & start over.

I know herbal plants you do not want to affect the flowers or buds, but I'm wondering if the steam cleaning will work on my lemon tree I have indoors.

Bro personally I mix this to annihilate any pests I've encountered. Thrips, Gnats & my worst enemy; POWDERY MILDEW!!!

Get a 1 gallon or bigger sprayer, idk how big your area is. Mix the following products together at the following rates.

1 oz Plant Therapy by Lost Coast per/gallon
1 oz Regalia CG by Marine Bio per/gallon
1 oz Venerate CG (Can be alternated with Grandevo CG by Marine Bio) per/gallon

Spray this solution on the plants starting from the bottoms of the leaves to the tops, you want to spray the bottoms of the leaves first so they aren't drooping, if you spray down the tops of the plant first then the leaves will droop and any little fuckers under the leaves will be laughing at you when you try to spray them, at least I think they do that to me, so I laugh as I spray them. Muahahaha

Anyways, that spray should take you from seed to harvest every time without failure. I've been running this IPM (COol AbbreViations Bro) Integrated Pest Management program for about a year now.

Plant Therapy has some essential oils and isopropyl alcohol as well as citric acid which will on contact neutrilize most bugs, spores, fungus, mold etc..

Regalia & Venerate or Grandevo are going to be PREVENTITIVE solutions that need re-application to be 100% effective. You cannot be lazy with it and skip a day you may come down with another infection or infestation on your plants. Remember these things have been around a LONG LONG LONG time and they are persistent. You must compete with that. Nature can be a bitch but with indoor gardening it is possible to manage it and control it to an extent.

Test it out on a section of the plant and see how it responds, usually the only cure for mites is to coat the plants in a product that will either kill them or deter them. There is a Trinity TR fogger you could let loose in the grow but I do not recommend using this product indoors at all. Its legit legit poison and you will want to read the directions and use it exactly as they recommend. Also never put those bug bomb fogger cans near anything put them in a 5 gal bucket you don't care about and run.

Fortunately I'm blessed to never had mites even in my early days of growing. I'm in a basement that is very clean & well sealed so perhaps that's why? I also don't allow other growers over into my shit or even in my house to prevent cross contamination between grows and I also don't care if they don't understand that. Call me a dick. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
