Never could get that "Hey, ya gotta wait for 2 months" bullshit. Fresh weed Tastes good in my opinion and since I grew it, I'm smokin it when I want which is about.............yeah, right now
 
I oven quick dry for taste tests.

I take my buds and throw em on the scale to find out the weight, preheat the oven up to 170F(since that is as low as mine will go), turn off the oven and leave the door open for about 20 seconds and make sure the element is not glowing bright orange then place the buds on a piece of tinfoil with the edges bent up to make a tray. After about 15-20 minutes I take the buds out and reweigh to see how much has dropped off...if the oven is too cool at this point I turn it on again to heat it up a little bit more for a minute or so and turn it off again...repeat until you've lost about 60% of the weight...

I've found this method of quick drying to work the best..you don't take the chance of overheating it causing THC loss with a really hot oven or microwave quick drying...my method does a decent job of giving smokable weed in about an hour that isn't all too harsh if you make sure and trim off leaves that don't have much for THC on them. And I usually only sample the smaller lower buds.

When taking samples to test I also look at the trichs under a 60x scope to see whats up with how clear/cloudy/amber the trichs are so you have a basis to judge your stoned feeling vs how the trichs look. Don't expect a 3-4hr stone with quickdried buds from immature plants, expect a 1hr head high at first and it will slowly progress to about a 1.5 50/50 head/body right as its ready to harvest(at least that's with the strain I grow, all strains are different and everyones reaction to THC/CBD/CBN are going to "feel" different).

I read that over 140 degrees and the trichs start getting damaged, BUT, I dry a taste in the microwave on low(#1 setting) 4 secs at a time. Let it dry after every 4 times and good to go, for a taste. I personally believe that quality is truly lost no matter how it's done quickly. A slow cure fur sure.......

Edit: I thought you had been curing for over 2 months, I usually wait at least 2 weeks.
 
Use the sugar trim to make some BHO. Make a DIY vapourizer out of a lightbulb to smoke it. Should keep you going until the cure is done.:sleep:

Of course its going to get damaged :D It's a quick dry for a reason :D Impatience = lower quality smoke...the slower you can dry/cure the better of course. I've tried several different microwave methods using wet paper towels in tupperware containers...screwing with the "settings" trying everything in between...your microwave doesn't care what you set it at, when its shooting off microwaves its shooting off microwaves and causing water molecules to be excited and turn to steam, the lower you put the setting the shorter the time the microwave is "on" with longer breaks between that "on"...I've yet to have a non harsh smoke come out of the microwave and like I said i've tried several guides/methods of nuking it :D
 
Breathless..did you smoke them yet? Give me details. Actually this thread is quiet interesting since i too am new to the medical marijuana scene.

I'm being a little pussy about it. Haven't smoked in forever and am stuck in this control-freak, responsibility mode. Like, am I ready to start not giving a fuck? This is huge.
 
I start sampling after it dries. I dont sample much the first week even two sometimes but you will get down on yourself about your meds not being potent but by week 3 I'm higher than a giraffe's pussy!!!! I'm my own worst critic then my buddies come along and start hi-5ing me.
 
I smoke from the moment it's ready to go into a jar, then i get to experience the whole range of change and not just sit thee talking about the importance of a cure without appreciating the before and after :) The before is normally just fine so i don't worry too much about only having half the jar fully cured etc :D
