OK!!!! what i mean by "flushing" is no nutes the last week or two before harvest. i WILL NOT put 9gal of water thru my plants, that does not make sense to me. PLUS IM GROWING IN COCO!!!!!! COCO IS MY MEDIUM!!!! WAY DIFFERENT THEN SOIL, AND DIFFERENT THEN HYDRO, BUT KIND OF THE SAME!!!!sorry for the caps, but i feel like im in high school, nobody listened to me then, and i have a feeling that nobody is listening to me now. its rather frustrating. maybe i should go start a Coco For Dummies thread or sum shit.

never done the dark thing. might try it sometime, always felt if it fools them into thinking its winter...might just pop a couple nanners out to make sure of reproduction. But obviously I cant be sure of that either.
...I dont see much of a need to even give plants plain water the last 7-14 days...cause I water to get 30% runoff EVERY TIME...no salt build ups, no worries. On the other hand I DO cut back nutrient usage the last 2 weeks..and the last 2 watering are plain...and thats probably not needed anyways.

and its just like a hydro...an inert medium. ...if your hand watering to waste, get a good 20-30% every time and there's no need for plain water the last 7-14 days.

ok right fair enough cannabis has 600 or so active cannibinoids all involved with getting u high. 3 days in the dark isn't going to produce extra amber trichs and if anything will surely stop the trichs developing much more, as for the resin claim i can't say, the only way to do it fairly is to get two cuttings from the same plant and then do a side by side blind sampling, but i can be dam sure that if ur getting extra something from keeping her in the dark that chances are ur sacrificing something else....all bout balance innit

well... this might sound odd. but some containers do have run off after watering/feeding and sometimes they do not! 2 of the plants have run off every day o matter the amount of liquid i give her. lately i have been getting lazy and just giving them 1 full cup and a half. i have 1 plant im treating way differently. she has hardly any frost on her, but such massively thick colas!!! huge!! but the frost is just barely starting to form. im thinking she is going to be a late finisher, seeing shes Skunk i think she needs another 4 weeks, if not 6. the other 9 are roughly about 2-3 weeks away, and 1 (in the most recent pics) is looking like she will be done any day now. i have another room i can put the plants into straight darkness. so that is no problem, and darkness is completely free!! ill just throw a fan in that room, since its hella small and be good. im still seeing mixed reviews for the last 2 weeks. some just use water, some use nutes til the end. i know soil and organic growers have different feeding schedules, and as with a hydro system. its rather confusing when there is not a solid census. i appreciate the input, although i think i am a lot more confused now then i was before.

Well I grow skunk #1 in coco, so anytime you want to see what she can do give me a shout.
As for the the debate on it being hydro or not. It clearly is, it retains only slight amounts of nutrients, (bonds to P and Ca well) if your hand watering, or using a top feed automated system (even recirculating) it's hydro. You need to feed EVERY TIME you water in coco. It isnt soil...so no more: feed, water water, feed shit. It's FEED FEED FEED. Believe me, I took my knocks learning it. (thanks to Pukka for showing me the way)

ok! the guy who got me into coco told me too water everyday. i didn't believe him at first, but then started to do it everyday and OH MAN!! i have def noticed a dif. however! i only do the Feed Feed Feed thing when they are looking healthy! right now, i think a few of them got a little burnt, so they get a a Water Feed Water Feed schedule until they look healthy again. sometimes i get run off, sometimes i don't. i use Cal/mag almost with every feed, and just found out today that's not necessary. so, im still learning the ropes for coco. the dude who got me started kind of left me hanging. i don;t blame him, hes super busy, and i kinds just meet the dude. none of my close friends grow, so nobody knows what im doing, so i do not have anyone to ask for help except for on here. getting told 3 different things is starting to fuck with my head. i think about switching to soil just about everyday now! but i know the benefits of coco, so im struggling on. OH!!! and all of a sudden my Mother Plant is looking like shit!!! FML!!!!

because your in a peat based medium I wouldn't treat them as if they are in straight coco. Your going to run into salt build ups later.
This is just essentially a soilLESS mix, and not plain coco.
I'd give a nice plain watering in between feedings. Now if you get a brick like this:
and thats all your growing in ( plus maybe some perilite) then your running hydro.

The darkness deal is a waste of time. I experimented with it for a few years on almost a dozen different strains and I could never tell a difference. Bricktop claimed some institute did a test but of course no one has that document because it probably doesn't exist. I don't flush either because if you have an idea of how plants work and have gardened at any point in your life, flushing would make no sense.

OK!!! im going to get a bag of that in a few weeks. i hope you see my frustration here, but i am 2 weeks, possibly 3 weeks away from being finished. can you please tell me the proper execution for harvesting in what i am using now? my brain is going to pop any second from all this.

there IS an alternative.... but it takes some switching over. Organic Supersoil with a coco Supplementation. you get all the good stuff of organic supersoil, with added coco into the mix and you get Super drainage just like coco...
Peat moss 50%
Perlite 25%
Coco 25%
+ all the nutrients and addatives of super soil (dont have time to list my ingredients) and you get a mix that drains 5 Gallon buckets in 2-3 days, and enough micro-nutrients to supply the plant for its entire life...... N/P/K lasts for the first 2 months of growth and with a supplementary 10% feeding every time you water the plants it makes for one HELL of a good supply for the plants.
