I have like 8 cfl's in me setup right now. but I feel like I need the room the be hotter.

is there a bulb, a strong one, that will provide a different spectrum for me and put out some heat to increase the temp of my room?

preferably one that I can just go grab from home depot or lowes or some shit like that.

Maybe put a fan above your existing set up, blowing down on low. That'd push the heat back down and should/could increase the temps? It'd probably also decrease rh.

Seriously....get a 1000w light if you can't get it hot enough. If it's still too cold, get another one.

What an awesome problem to have.

haha yeah, I see people normally have the opposite problem. I'm starting to get little purple veins in my stem and nodes and it has to be because of the temp drop, haha.

so 1000w light? alright. thanks guys. so the more wattage the more heat? this light doesn't even need to grow anything, I just need it to pump out heat.

the temp that causes the purpling is the nite temps but theres really nothing wrong with it as long as its no more than a 15 degree drop bettween day and nite temps

Get a fan that rotates automatically, i used a heater one with a built in thermostat. Kept my humidity between 40 and 50%, gave the plants movement and kept the room at a toasty 27 degress c!

If you like slow growing plants.
Care to elaborate?

The better pots I've grown over the past four decades have all had purpling/red stems, and those certainly weren't slower than the green stemmed plants. Just the opposite, in my case.
It can be a deficiency, but is also, and possibly more often, genetic.

a heater fan? what the hell. where'd you get that from? that sounds like the perfect thing I could use if it is in fact the night temps that are causing the purpling stems.

I have a fan in the room but I feel like the fan is only cooling the room down so now I'm afraid to use it if I don't get some more heat in the room.

u can get one from walmart for around 25$ , the inside of it is just liek a big toaster , with coils that turn red hot , but it is super safe to use indoors , as it has an automatic shut off if it tips over ,, or u can use a halogen light , they get hott , even a few regular 100 W incadecent lights will get hott , just to up the temps a few degrees

I guess I might as well just get a hot light like 100w incandescent ones to help my grow along the way while I'm at it?

well before you run out and buy a light tell us how big you grow space is? do you have plenty of space over your plants to raise and lower a high output light? mine is in my bedroom closet its a 400w hps which puts out plenty of heat. but i also live in the south 90 deg in the summer ect. will you be living in a place where winter is cold?all this stuff facters into what kind and the wattage of the light for heat.
