U should've saved those nanners. It was free pollen for more seeds. I wouldn't be worried about hunting for gd pheno types unless u breeding. Its really no point. Just grow some gd healthy plants. Im hunting for fav strains which is alot different. U cant hunt for pheno types with one plant either. U gotta grow a bunch of the same to see which outperforms.

Ok. But if this one is fire and then I grow out some of the other seeds and they are meh, then I've lost this one forever. So, by revegging this one now, I can keep a mother and grow it again in the future if I decide to. I wouldn't necessarily call it a pheno hunt, more of just preservation. But if it happens to be the best product, yield, flavor, strength, etc.. out of the beans I have for this strain, then it would be nice to have the option to grow it again. Now that I have learned quite a bit, id love to grow this exact plant again regardless of how it turns out to see if I can do it better next time around.

The other seeds will be no better or worse then this plant. It will all be up to what happens during the grow. Saving a clone won't make it fire cus the mother was. Its genetics.

Im not knocking what u plan on doing but i just want to point out. Your reveged plant will more then likely throw nanners as well (just like gd old mom did). Stay on top of it if u stick to the plan. Most would've written her off but u gonna double down. Best of luck.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is what phenotypes are, is it not? Different variations of the same strain. So, even if I have 20 seeds of the same strain, that could very well be 20 phenos with varying levels of traits. Different structure, colors, terps, strength, yield, etc... So, saving a clone of this plant gives me the best chance of replicating this plant exactly if thats what I am aiming to do. Right?

At the end of the day, I want a clone of this plant in order to:

1. Run it again and see if I can do it better than the first time.
2. In case this particular pheno happens to be amazing, preserve it and in the future, compare it to other seeds of the same strain.

I will stick by the fact that those nanners were caused by me letting the temps get up to 100° in the tent for a few days. That said, I'd like to grow the same plant again and see what happens when I do better on my end.

No way to tell without comparing it to others. The strain can be amazing from genetics not a particular pheno. Which means any seed.

Could be 100% correct. But by using same clone your chances go way up. In this case your pheno type might be more subsceptible to nanners tho that could be genetics also. Some are more resistant to them.
Run it again and see if I can do it better than the first time.
Nothing wrong with that. Ive done same thing. I guarantee it will be better from grower skills improving rather then cus u go thru the hard work of reveging a full plant cus it MIGHT have a better pheno then the next.
Once again believe me I'm not knocking what u doing. In the persute of knowledge wisdom and understanding I get it.
As an old head I wish I had went the easy rt sometimes, when folks that already did it tried to give me the cheat code.
Plus I'm only looking at it from my view where I'm overpacked in my space and wouldn't waste food water or space for it. Your circumstances I'm sure are much different. Plus sometimes u gotta see it for yourself no matter what. Experience is the best teacher.
U will be able to let me know what u think in a few months.

Day 60 from flip

Today was the day. I went through and trimmed off all the fan leaves that were droopy and wilted from not having water the last few days. Then I got to chopping her down. I did find 11 seeds on a couple of the bottom buds. I didn't notice any up top on the bigger colas. That said, it went pretty smooth.

After her haircut and before the chop

After the chop. We will see if I can get her to reveg.

Ended up with 376g. I am just using this number as a reference to compare to the dry weight. Then once it is dry, I will trim and get a final weight.

All hung up and in the dry tent.

Thank you. They aren't super dense or anything, but im really happy with how things turned out so far with the grow. I can't wait to see how they dry and cure and get a smoke report from my brother. It has definitely been a learning experience and I'm looking forward to the next grows

U got bud and babies. Sweet deal. Hopefully u don't get alot in the other plants either. Usually whole tent will have em when u see nanners. One of my first grows had me pissed when 13 plants got em. But it turned out to be a blessing. Some of the mixed strains came out bangers.

Just hangin out. Humidity is staying between 53 and 60% Temps are staying between 65 and 72ish. I am not worried about the drying at this point as it seems to be going well. I am however starting to sweat the density of the buds. They are very spongy but they feel more airy than I would like. That said, the goal was just to take her to completion with any amount of usable product and I feel that that will be achieved.

Test bud I pulled that I'll hopefully be trying out this evening. Total newbie question: When I go to trim this, do I just trim all the leaf material off of it? And obviously the stems.

And here is the plant in "attempting to reveg" mode. Lol. Last night she got a solo cup of 1.2 EC grow nutes.

Well, I got home this evening after work and tossed a handful of buds in a jar with hygrometer. It went right to 51-52% and stayed there for about 2-3 hours without moving. I went ahead and pulled it all out of the drying tent and trimmed it and put it in a jar and grove bags. I really thought that maintaining 56-61% rh in the tent was gonna give me more than 5 days to dry, but I probably should have tested and pulled them after 4 days. That said, I found about 30ish or so more seeds. I ended up with just over 2oz of smoke and about .9oz of trim and popcorn. Overall, I am happy with the results and actually taking a grow to harvest time. Now, I will focus on the other 2 plants in the flower tent and the new ones in the veg tent. I can't wait to run Volcano Girl again and change a few things up and do some stuff better to see what she can produce with a little more skill. Trimming those airy ass popcorn buds sucks a fat dick. Next time, they are either getting lollipopped right off the plant or getting tossed directly into the trim pile. I have never trimmed weed before so be gentle with any critiquing. Haha

Way to get a harvest in your first grow! I'm sure it will be awesome smoke because of the work you put in to get it. Nice buds, trimming is personal preference unless you're posting for the Gram lol. Then you shave them up nice and tight so the trichomes look all sparkly. Trimming larf sucks ass for sure and it's what got me into lollipopping heavily. I don't want to trim anything smaller than my thumb so I strip all the lower crap. I don't need tons of yield so if it's fluffy I toss it or it goes to my kids for them to trim.
