Goodmorning RIU. I'm kind of jumping in the middle of a grow cycle. but i thought it would be fun to have somewhere to post updates and help and get help from others. This is my first journal and we'll see how it goes. My grow right now consist of Adams OG clone only strain. I guess you could say I have a perpetual grow, although small. info:
-strain is adams og
-600 watt hps
-coco/perlite dtw
-house and garden nutes
-I'll post more info later, its too early. im still wiping the crust out of my eyes.
edit: heres a close up of what the colas were looking like towards the end of my last harvest. the plant in the back was a different strain, and yes, both got wayyy to close to the light, but still turned out good. hoping to avoid those mistakes this round. And then there are a couple pics after a month of curing. now round 2 of this strain...

What lights do you use?
1000 watt hps dimmed down to 600. 600 watt mh sometimes for veg, but most of the time I use my 8 bulb t5 light. I know people think t5 CFLs cant produce well, I disagree. They do a very good job at vegging. This is how I grow perpetually at least. If I were just growing one plant at a time, I would opt for the mh for veg

welcome to my grow room. its not big, nor fancy, and its ever changing because my life is ever changing. Thats one reason I like growing in coco so much. Its versatile enough for my frantically changing mind. I don't feel "locked in" or "all in" in any one growing method ever. I use a 20 gallon res to store my nutrient solution for the plant in flower, and the 5 gal buckets for res' for my vegging plants. A water pump delivers the solution through the hose obviously. I just want to give you folks a tour of my grow room and a sense of how I personally do things right now. Its a simple, yet effective setup, I think.

day 32 of flower. It has been pretty smooth sailing except for my reservoir issues. I am not very confident in my reservoir maintenance skills. All the information online is for DWC grows specifically when trying to ask questions about reservoirs. I just feel like there is a more efficient way to change out the water, clean equipment, etc, than how i have been. if someone has a link to a site with solid info on external rez maintanence, that would be cool. I'm running a "sterile" rez with h2o2 as that seems easiest. I'll try looking again today. have a good day folks

I'm not sure how you do that. I'm not questioning but I doubt comprehend it. Idk. I must fertigate more often. In really not sure. I'm pretty medicated right now. I would be mixing nutes up every single day if I weren't using a res. I actually wish u had a little larger one to be honest. That is strange how different it is,...our to grows

I only flower one plant at a time and usually have a couple plants in veg going all the time. That res is solely for the flowering plant (usually) also. I do use 5 gallon buckets for my vegging plants but I was actually recently thinking I need a res for my veg station bc I'm having to refill those buckets like every other day
And not dumb question. I'm just too spaced out to answer the question correctly

Lol. Each of my flower plants are in 3 gallon. They get 2 litres a day. Every 3-4 days they get more so a good runoff so prob 4 litres my veg plants are about a litre ea a day. So ya u must water more or have bigger pots.

My flower plant is in a 5 gallon. I would have to automate my watering if I had my flowering plants in three gallon. I think I do use much more water. I think you should have a good amount of runoff every single fertigation....so that there is no salt buildup. Still the numbers dont make sense right now. I'm going to have to think about this tomorrow ha...honestly, its interesting
