H.A.F. growing stink-flowers in dirt with QB's

I did moon-rocks and those keif pucks for friends and family when they visit. Does anyone have a good recipe for long term storage of excess THC?

I mean, if I'm awake, I'm high - it's like a given. And now that I have a bounty and seeds ready to go, I am looking for the best way to store the goodies.

If anyone has links to articles about it, that would be cool. I am looking for info like 'is it better to decarb for long term storage', or whether or not to refrigerate or freeze something, shelf life of different stuff, etc.

Busy night - I flushed each 2gallon contest plant with 2 gallons of sledgehammer, then refed them with 1/2 gal. (total 10gallons RO)
IMG_9232.JPG
THEN 5 more gallons with sledgehammer for the final flush on the monster. By Saturday this soil will be around my tomatoes ;) She has almost all milky trichs, and about 2-3% amber. I've never made it this far with all the leaves still healthy, so I want to see if the flush actually makes her start changing colors faster. If she does I might wait to chop, but she'll be dry enough Friday to harvest if it looks good. The humidity has been climbing in general, including in the room, and I don't want to take a chance with mold or bud-rot. I can't wait to see the weight, because they are solid.

And last but not least, if you think about something long enough, you get a solution.
IMG_9247.JPG
My seed stash has 4 each of the 2 little ones (BB and SOG) but this is my only NL seed - and i'm not doing any clones for a while. Since my contest plants are respectable, and I flipped them at exactly 1 month old, I'm just flipping this whole room. I think the NL would crowd the other room more than the monster is, so I can spread them out. I will just have 2 smallish plants with the new seeds, but I have more. And I'll have a great variety of smoke in about 3 months :)

They were planted on 4/20, so 5/20 they go 12/12. The NL was already fed for flipping anyway.

I keep seeing these new pistils popping, and freaking out because they look like nanners at first glance
IMG_9249.JPG
But the ambers are finally starting on the tops. I'd say it's about 10% on some of the sugar leaves, 1-3% on the tops. The leaves are taking on a light amber hue in general, so the flush might have been too late to make a difference.
IMG_9248.JPG
And a few have these purple half-leaf things. look scary at first, then pistils come out of it. Who knows, I may have some seeds in this, but it definitely isn't affecting the quality.

Had to get out the loupe for this one. Just more pistils.
IMG_9258.JPG IMG_9259.JPG Since the flush, about 16 hours (12 dark) there is little new growth, and all the pistils that were stretching last night are thinning and curling up.
IMG_9266.JPG And this is what it looks like just before a trichome tip turns amber ;)

I think Thursday or Friday will be perfect, and the flush was what it needed - we'll see. already some sugar-leaf tips yellowing and their trich's ambering. Really light yellow on the leaves though

The microscope shot is gorgeous! What are you using? My Mustcam has horrible depth of field and your shot seems focused everywhere.

love the uniformity ! I need work on this part , I didn't measure height till the 8th day of flower , 18 " from soil to top of colas . These gals really stretched ! IMG_6295.JPG their on day 50 of flower ,

Actually it's a old cannon power-shot camera. I set it on "macro" then take about 20 pictures, then sort through them to find a few that don't suck ;)

I don't even look at what it's focusing on - supposed to be 'auto' ;) I look at it from the side and just get the lens close as I can without getting sticky stiff on the lens.

I'm growing my first sativa, and it stretched twice what the indica beside it did - under the starter lights. Once I got them under the QB's I have had to dial the lumens back to get them to stretch.

I have quality seeds, but it's all about the lights (and good airflow). You want fat dense buds, it's the lights.

well I got that part down , got 2 , 260's quantum boards , not quite like yours , need more work to keep them lower , but this girl stretched to 28" top of colas , 50 day today ,

Mine is 49 today. 7 weeks on the button in 12/12, and I could chop today and would have good weed. Hoping a few days sends her over the top. Mine was a monster-crop though, got snipped end of January.

No matter how long I veg, clone or seed, the skunk can be done in 7weeks of 12/12. I think if I plan the feeds and flushes better based on that she might be riper at this point. Most schedules have an 8 week flower sched, and looking at them you can see definite transition points during the flower schedule.

Check this out: https://bigbudsmag.com/marijuana-bloom-shocker-there-are-four-marijuana-flowering-phases-not-just-one/
Not the part where they try to sell nutes, just the descriptions.

I think that identifying those transition points on a feeding schedule and matching it to these flowering stages, you can give the plant what she needs at the right time, on a visual clue instead of a date on a calendar.

So like, "when you see pistils, shift to the next feed" or when they start browning, etc.

@morugawelder , I think that is the main reason I have the 4 different nutes running at once on the contest plants. I want to settle on one specific set of nutes, and some additives that might not be from that "set" but are beneficial, then dial it in.

So far the Fox Farms trio is looking the fattest, but it is also the one I have had the most issue with in the past. This grow might prove it was all me and I'm learning - or shit may go sideways ;)

The Gen-Hydro is next, and way easier to use - but it has "extras" you can buy just like the FF Trio, so then it wouldn't be easier...

The FF Gringo Rasta is the healthiest by far, and is also easy. It is what I have been feeding the Monster, so there's that.

The Dyna-gro is the worst, or I don't know how to use it right. But they are sponsoring the competition... and if I win I get more... :)

See! It's the QB's. Those look dense as well. Did the one on the right grow like that, or fall because of weight?

I think that's why I like the manifolds, because once they get stretched everything grows straight up. Might be that the stems get fatter too because if I untie them they pop up about an inch.
it fell from weight , there were about 4 on the outside that did that ,

she grew straight up , stretched like 10 " and I kept her tied down . I want to keep the next run lowered not so big around , want to run at least 4 plants in the 4x4 room .

That's how my tomatoes are doing, growing like crazy and hard to keep up and keep them vertical. Didn't have cages this year and tried just staking them. Planted too many (or didn't cull enough) too.

I agree. My 135 watter hlg has kept my auto seedlings so short that I'm gonna have a hard time transplanting out of solo cups.. and I've kept the light around 28"

I have a tape measure on the wall to check the height, but I have quit having "goal" heights. I start out high now, just to get them to stretch for it. then lower it as needed. Sometimes their growing removes the need for you lowering.
