Yep- turns out Assad only 'gassed his own people' when he was winning, so the United States would stay and keep supporting the rebels fighting against him. That happened three different times and each one was discredited by the relevant investigating bodies, like the organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons.

It won't be an American coup. It will be a valid legal transition to the legal President of Venezuela. The election that brought Maduro into office was invalid. Practically all of the countries in Latin America are on record saying so. The issue will go before the UN.
Only you and Putin say otherwise. Then again, one can make the case that Putin's election was invalid too. I get it. The only way Cult of Sanders gets power is with Putin's help to rig OUR election.

The truth though is always much easier. He could just as easily have dropped off an envelope in a mailbox addressed to the editor at the Washington Post. It would have been cheaper, more effective, anonymous, and would have carried legitimate weight even if the information was, in the end, completely worthless as anybody with half a brain already knew it.
Millennials are the only people who didn't...because they were (and still are) too stupid to actually research facts. It's far better to them to simply read only what you want to, listen to only what you want to hear and watch only what you agree with on the internet and live in a reality you make for yourself rather than actual reality.

He tried to sell the shit first. When that didn't work out, he gave information to a Chinese bureaucrat and the publisher of The South China Post, a newspaper. It was THEY who actually got Snowden the apartment and then invited The Guardian down to meet Snowden.
China's mission at the time was simple: Get Snowden the fuck out of China. They knew he was a hot potato, didn't have anything they wanted anyway, and new it would piss off the U.S. no end to give him shelter. I can't prove it, but I honestly believe China set up the whole Guardian thing thinking that they would spirit Snowden back to the UK and he would no longer be their problem.
But it didn't work out that way. They just came down to make a documentary and make some bucks off it, nothing more.
The rest is history.
