Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

I'm with Rauner more than I'm with JB (I don't trust his political views) not really trying to be political in this thread. So I'm around day 50 on waiting for my card! Hopefully at worst I'm within about a month of actually having it in my hand! I'm excited!!

Well one is opposed to medical marijuana, the other is not. One is opposed to legal marijuana, the other is not. Politics are a part of it. Rauner also doesn’t fund start services, Pritzker says he will (and likely will due to where he stands politically). We are in this position because of Rauner, not joe and Jill state worker.

Not trying to be rude, but politics are going to come up. It doesn’t matter that you are are a Republican.

And them democrats did nothing for 15 years. Under Rauner life has significantly improved for me in Illinois.

Have you seen the commercials for thus pritzger guy? They are abhorrent. A bumbling fool that doesnt look like he could hold a job anywhere at all.

Give rauner 4 more years, I believe he is just getting the hang of things. Im a honest. man trying to make it on my own in Illinois, please dont make this harder for me.

Well it’s gotten way worse and I think he has done a terrible job. Plus, I am less likely to find work for me or my family. I never supported Rauner and won’t. Frankly, a Chicago liberal for Governor sounds great to me.

You are on a Cannabis related board in a medical marijuana section telling me to vote for a guy that opposes legal marijuana and tried to veto medical marijuana. Lol. Pretty absurd.

You want me to do this because you seem to believe an attack ad. Sorry but no.

Plus I think it’s kinda selfish to demand others vote for the candidate because “life has gotten better for me”. I almost had my healthcare taken away by Rauer.

I don’t really feel like I have to explain myself or owe anything to you. Back to my original question.

Has anybody had recent experience with direct online applications recently? I am wondering if some of the dispensaries haven’t been throwing stuff back on the state.

Also, people keep talking about calling the Secretary of State. I have been getting through via the online portal and 1-800 number

I'm not telling anybody to vote one way or the other, people know who and what they support so I never try to change opinions. Also just because I have support for rauner does not mean that I automatically support every decision he makes. Just because I disagree with how Rauner has approached medical marijuana doesnt mean i dont stand behind other political views of his. With that being said I don't think just because one candidate supports one thing I'm associated with (mmm), doesnt mean I should vote for him when i oppose a lot of his other actions. Also I'm not stubborn, I think if we give Rauner four more years and don't start seeing more improvement then yes in up forsomething different. I'm always up to having an open mind and an intellegent conversation I was just saying to begin with that this thread is specifically about waiting times n that is why I said that. I'm sure there are threads about the politics for that reason.

You joined this site just to post your political view. Like you said, it's a board about medical cannabis and the wait time. Makes you look like a shill. You're only here to tell people to keep voting the same way illinois and chicago has for way too many years now. We are where we are for a reason. The liberal agenda has went off the rails. But whatever, it's all about the wait time. I'm at 37 days. Can't wait to get this card.

I know I'm so ready, I ordered a dabado thunderbox pro the other day just for when my card gets here. I can't wait until I can try it out

The 90 day wait is killer but it's definitely worth it I think. I've only done a few dabs in Vegas on a small pen type burner. I've also been eyeing some rigs in anticipation of getting concentrates. Look into some of the weed box subscription services. You can get just one box and they usually come with a nice glass piece. They have ones specifically for concentrates.

Yea I had been looking at those services but I wasn't sure the legalities on them in IL. I saw a lot of reviewers saying good things about the thunderbox and the bolt 2. I got the thunderbox pro and the m pro ( I bought mine on sale last week $90 total normally would've been around $160 I think.) the other one I saw with good reviews was the pufco peak but it's really expensive almost $400 and I wasn't about to spend that much on a vaporizer.

Got an email from the IDPH yesterday (day 91).

“Your patient registry card has been approved and sent to printing, you should have it within 10-14 days”

Out of the blue.

Paid and submitted online, June 20.

Day 92, no card.
Of course there's no card, they told you yesterday it will arrive within 10-14 days.

I joined this site because I have a qualifying condition, have an application and like making people aware of political issues and experiences. You have no idea why I joined, nor do you get to act like a cop and try to order people around. You are acting like an authoritarian.

Lol. I know it sucks to vote against your own interest. I joined the site and said it’s important to vote for candidates that support medical marijuana. On a medical cannabis site. I am allowed to post this. I am sorry you are upset because you are a conservative Repulican and likely a Trump supporter ( not really). Once again, this is a Medical Marijuana website and politics is everything with this issue. Including the wait times.

This is clear:

“On the other side, the two GOP primary candidates have opposed legalization and raised questions on the future of Illinois' medical marijuana pilot program, which is set to expire in 2020.

Gov. Bruce Rauner implemented the pilot program in 2015, but he has recently fought in court attempts to expand the list of qualifying conditions. He is against legalization for recreational purposes.”

I cannot post the link due to my newer account.

Rauner has not been a friend of medical marijuana. Merely pointing this out doesn’t mean the “liberal agenda has gotten out of control”. Or something absurd you heard on Fox. I want this program fixed and expanded. That won’t happen under Rauner. It doesn’t really matter because he isn’t going to win.

If you want to vote for anti cannabis canidates because of some fictitious conspiracy you read on Breitbart then go ahead. But don’t try to personally attack me. You also do not get to dictate what this thread discusses because it’s inconvienent for you to hear that you support anti cannabis politicians. I am posting this stuff so all can read it and decide. It’s not all about you. Instead, try to explain why we should vote for Rauner if you want.

I would love to here experiences in regards to solo applications via online. I have heard that dispensaries cannot “help” with paperwork. I have a feeling they have been messing up. Lots of the websites of this dispensaries are not up to date and there is an obvious incentive to have the applicant pick the dispensary helping them out.

I just checked USPS email and IT IS HERE TODAY! Finally! Card was charged on 6/18.

I was about to call them again today when I saw the email. When I called them last Monday they said it was still processing.

I’m a little worried though that it could be a rejection letter or something. I’ll find out later today wish I could leave work now

  • Submitted via Innovative Express Care, 7/16/18
  • State deducted application fee funding via credit card, 7/16/18
  • Day 71, no card/no status update

Tried calling the number features on the IDPH website - automated message saying "high call volume" and try again later (no option for voicemail). The automated message encouraged emailing them instead.

Emailed them, got an auto-response saying they will not respond to status inquiries:

"Thank you for contacting the Illinois Department of Public Health Medical Cannabis Program. Your email has been received and we will process your request as soon as possible.

Due to a high volume of processing, we CANNOT respond to inquiries about your application status. We will process all applications based on the date received. If additional documents are needed to review your application, you will receive a letter from the program asking for more information along with information on how to submit the documents.

Thank you for your patience. Sincerely, Division of Medical Cannabis"

Soooooo from what I'm reading/seeing here, they will not respond to inquiries either by phone or email. Cool beans. I guess it's just wait it out or hope someone picks up the phone at the IDPH.

Day 87 since mailed. Card in hand!!!

GreenCare Medical in Palos Heights
Mailed in packet. 6/29
Received by state. 7/2
Check cashed. 9/7
Told it was sent to print 9/14
Card in hand. 9/27
Total days since mailing. 87
I never received any letters or emails or phone calls. I did call one time on 9/14, when I was told that I was approved. 87 days seems like an improvement over where it had been running. I’m working out of town today, but will be at the dispensary tomorrow! Peace all!
