You and others are the joke, not about being superior its about knowledge and you and others made this site weak.

Dude over the years its clear you have struggled here, i dont :-)
Ok, that's not the best apology acceptance speech ever but I'll take it ;p. Knowledge isn't just about fancy words, if you have shit people skills (another form of IQ) then sharing your academic knowledge is up hill.

I've struggled?, yes, that's what happens when new to something. Life is about struggle. Apart from you, who clearly fell out of a vagina into a pair of tartan slippers and onto a rocking chair with tobacco pipe in hand. What a visual ;p.

Any more info on wind? What happens to transpiration at certain speeds?

What are these words forced and free convection Dingslow is on about? What is a leaf energ budget? Why dosent a leaf die in dtagnant air? Why does a leaf still work underwater? How do gasses diffuse in stagnant air?

Just it seems im not allowed to discuss this stuff here because of all the pro growers like flowiki and mich med ruling da site and trolling what they dont like hmmmm....!
This is starting to feel like pissing into the wind. Although with your understanding of that matter lets call it pissing upside down.

''Wind'' exists under water. I should not need to elaborate on that, you're smart enough.

Some people grow plants in big sealed bottles. One guy kept it alive for over 30 year. So there you go, you are right, plants don't need wind. Just like plants don't need a lot of light or a lot of water/nutrients. But do me a favour, check the size, growth rate and reproduction rate of those extremity's compared to a jungle plant or tree.

You are almost arguing the same principle as ''humans don't need gravity''. We have evolved with gravity, we ''can'' adapt to lower gravity but it isn't optimal for our biology, at all. Why do you think huge creatures died out on earth?. Less isn't more in nature.

Jesus Fucking Christ . . here we go again. Yes, Obi Wan Dumb-obi, LEDs only put out blue light. Just like flouros only put out UV.

And which heat are you talking about? Convective, conductive, infra-red/electromagnetic? Do you even know the difference?

Lumens are for humans and are weighted more towards the green spectra, which the human eye is most sensitive to.
Incorrect.

That's why the typical 600 watt HPS bulb puts out 90,000 lumens and yet looks much dimmer than the MH bulb of the same wattage that only puts out 50,000 lumens.

Lumens, simply put, is the TOTAL amount of visible light that a bulb produces.

The reason the HPS puts out so many more lumens and at the same time looks dimmer is because most of it's light is in the red spectrum which is largely invisible to the human eye.

Edit to add: That's why you ALWAYS wear protective eye wear (UV blocking lenses). You'll burn your retinas out by looking at HPS lighting for very long, or other long wave red spectrum lighting as well.

I think you need to actually read what I wrote. Or at least try to understand it.

UV is not long-wave radiation. Luminosity Function is indeed weighted towards the green spectrum and peaks at 555nm.

I read exactly what you said.

That is wrong. End of story.

If you're talking about Kingrow1, you are correct. The guy is nothing but a complete jackass.
Then why are you here trying it on with me...?

Simply avoid, the rest are just noobs, wanna join them it simple just add me to the block list and ill keep on growing and posting alternative stuff to you guys.

Guess thats called democracy, go suck one up :-)

Lol. Let’s see your awesome science driven garden.

You never showed any plants last time I asked.
Showed plants here for over seven years, shame you missed them but suffice to say i get zero comeback when i do post (probably hundreds of times).

Like where you been all decade? Obviously nowhere near RiU bro.....

Seriously you only just worked out the heat from light science, no expectations you will know what else i go on about.

:-)

Again to the site -

Question - Do you know the difference between forced and free leaf cooling? Can you give speeds and define this as a science?

Obviously no and thats where you troll out.

Anything else you need and ill be on the non broscience part of this general forum, seeya noobies :-)

Lol. I have only been a member for a couple of years. Indulge me with some garden pics. You have seen mine plenty.

Otherwise no point in you pretending to teach anything. Time as a member here is completely meaningless to growing.

Sounds like deflection to me, I gave you some valid counters.. un answered ;p. Open another topic in an applicable sub so I can shoot down some more of your dumb abstractions?.

Very loosely: The action > what is observed > what is iterated > what is documented. You act as though you are at the point of documentation, false, given your small hps tent grow while using ZERO other techs. While convincing yourself you are at that stage, you then assume people who are not at that stage know nothing of the prior 3 stages (utterly false) or at-least, they surely grow lesser than you. Bad news for you.. It doesn't work like that. People who know less of the inner workings that you claim to know are equalling or growing healthier plants than you. But how??.. you know better than all this since you can put pen to paper on the inner workings of a leaf?, surely you are above them all. You're like a mechanic who knows everything about cars.. then claims to be a better driver than Lewis Hamilton.

does anyone recomend any grow lights?
I recommended one on page 2 post 33
305USD choice of 3500 or 4000 spectrum
dimmable from 135 to 285 watts

Many members have recommended heaps of other alternatives, in this thread & in the QB thread

Choices from inefficient old tech to new tech

You & your mate got no money & just like talking about buying stuff?

Light will be used for autoflowers in a 3x3 space. Just looking to help a friend out to give a quality product link to show them, and I'm not to experienced with autoflowers and automated dtw.

I am biased to a 600w hps/mh setup, but they are not to keen on that choice because of the ballast noise

Cheers to any links to suggestions in this price range
My vivosun 600 hps makes no noise. I would use viparspectra led instead tho

Do you know what a "lumen" is? I don't think you do, do you?

Here is a really good thread on luminous efficiency and how it can be used to calculate photosynthetic photon flux: https://www.rollitup.org/t/math-behind.868988/

Please read it. Or at least read something - anything - on the subject before you comment here again.

This article explains luminosity very well. It will get you started: https://fluence.science/science/par-ppf-ppfd-dli/

Honestly, this post wouldn't be so embarrassing if you weren't so insistent on believing it.

Lumens measure how bright a light source is to the human eye, based on its biologicial sensitivity. All organic eyes are different - dogs and cats see light differently to humans, as do insects and fish.

If a lamp puts out 100,000 lumens, then - no matter what colour it is - it is twice as bright to the human eye as a lamp that puts out 50,000 lumens.

And again, UV is NOT fucking red spectrum radiation - it is at the other end of the scale!!!

HPS lamps put out significantly less UV than MH or Fluorescent, which puts out the most per watt (because it generates UV light from plasma that is redistributed as higher wave-length visible light using phosphors similar to the phosphors used in LED lights).

Far from "end of story" I'm afraid.
