Light will be used for autoflowers in a 3x3 space. Just looking to help a friend out to give a quality product link to show them, and I'm not to experienced with autoflowers and automated dtw.

I am biased to a 600w hps/mh setup, but they are not to keen on that choice because of the ballast noise

Cheers to any links to suggestions in this price range

If it's only 3 x 3, a 400 watt MH/HPS will be more than good enough.

Yes the fan on my digital ballast moves a good bit of air and makes some noise for sure
I have digital and magnetic ballasts.
I think mine are quite but I do have bad hearing.
Don't large fans need to be running at the same time as the ballast for circulation and ventilation.
Can you here the ballast with the fans running?

So that's a great dollar amount for a decent light. If noise is going to be an issue, you had better figure out your ventilation situation before even thinking about a light. Exhaust noise and odor are not something to overlook.

Shit 300 bucks for a 3x3 coverage.....that's a perfect situation for a 315w cmh. The nanolux 315w cmh is a vertically mounted bulb set up for $240. Then your Phillip's 3100k bulb is $60. Boom 300 bucks and perfect foot print for 3x3. And able to use it from veg ti flower . Boom
The problem with that is that the ballast is part of the fixture which causes some very serious heat issues in the tent.

Digital ballast doesn't have that problem and produces the same light for half the price.

So you're telling me that a bulb in a fixture attached to the ballast in a tent together puts off no heat and needs no ventilation at all while a bulb only in a fixture with no ballast at all puts out tons of heat?

Dude, stop smoking. You've had enough.
