Yet our entire legal system is devoted to the welfare of Uber and other major corporations who already have all the bargaining power over those who would work for them, rather than those literally starving while trying to earn a living.
I wonder how much further Americans can be pushed before they revolt in large ways and small.
It's happened before in America on several occasions. Apparently we can't seem to slay this monster of exploitation of our fellows for profit.
Agreed, a legal system and a just(ice) system are not synonymous. Forcible subsidies create more problems than they solve.
So what is your objection to a free market solution, like "letting" people work for themselves absent intervention from controlling and unnecessary third parties like corporation or government ?
As far as a revolt goes, instituting free market solutions (real free market...not cronyism) might be better than the old fashioned revolts, which usually just feature some blood letting and wrestling over who gets to hold the gun of authority, rather than any substantive changes which actually empower individuals.
A person/customer who has options is harder to exploit than a person who is confined within a ridged controlled market. Your alluding to "profit" as the boogie man, is a simplistic (and erroneous) way of defining the problem. Profit, if derived from good service, rather than a captive customer base, can be a good thing. Restrictions and force via legislation are what create the problems, not free market choices.
You won't solve government created problems by using government or rearranging who is government empowered.
