The klx Way!

Mate I have to hook you up with our new 5k/4k strip, we sprinkled a little 4k in with the 5k, 98 CRI, but has the most beautiful spectrum I have seen in a single 3030 led. You get a little bump on the 660, perfect green/cyan and then added bonus of the 430nm violet. This is a D50 illuminant( natural sunlight at midday) only better, its like growing all day at midday. TM 30 is 98, meaning it represents true colours of its spectrum at 98%

Cheers
Mark

Yo! great growing - absolutely love that! im gonna try the klx way when i get back on it (:

What are the water temps? im worried i'll need a chiller...or is the lack of IR gonna make it really easy?

If i can get rid of the coco i'll be a happy man! smuggling the damn stuff past my neighbours is getting tiresome!

You don't need a chiller in a flood and drain as the roots aren't constantly sitting in water :hump:

so the roots just sit there in the dark, drying out in-between the two daily feedings?
I believe he stated he waters 15 minutes every hour like most do with low buck pin timers.
You can get a digital recycle time and limit the pump on time to just long enough to fully flood the tray.
45-1 hour between waterings is probably sufficient, any longer you may be cutting it short during lights on.
A lot of people just flood once during lights out or not at all. Really depends on your environment and how fast the tray dries out. :peace:

Cheers mate, yeah I tried coco as its popular but I didnt like the mess or the gnats. In summer I run the room at close to 30C so my water temps would be pretty warm I would say but it doesnt matter, just regular doses of H2O2 and it stays crystal clear. No need for chiller.

Yes they just hang out between feedings but they get fed every hour. Technically, its probably a NFT/F&D hybrid system. Sometimes I flood 30 on / 30 off during lights on for the first couple of weeks if the roots on the clones are not as big as I would have liked.

Yep agree with all this. I flood every 2 hours during lights off to keep the res nice and The drain pipe is cut short so it waterfalls into the res.

The testers at only day 13. A couple of the stockier strains are getting swamped. Been too busy the past week or so to give proper attention but will clean them up this weekend

PPM @ 1000 from Day 1 of flower all the way through til after the week of PK 13/14. From there I set it at 1000ppm and let it drift lower til harvest. PH @ 5.5 drift to 6.2.

I only start with seeds when hunting for new mums. Soak them til they sink, paper towel for a couple of days then just into a little jiffy puck til they get a couple of sets of true leaves, then into clay and into F&D tray with the mums.

Have to say I am impressed with Blim Burn's gear at this early stage. Other than my keepers, these are the best looking ladies in the test tray.
