DIY with Quantum Boards

there are people here far better qualified to answer that than I am. I'd say, depends how hard you want to drive them. I'd guess 5-6 boards at 75 watts might do it. Stephen will set us straight on this. I know the photon output is insane on these!

Man your picture at 110 watts was as bright as the sun. How is the heat? I really want to get away from HPS.

consider that the this weights maybe a pound, WITH the heatsink! yes, at 110 watts it will need a fan I'd say, or good air movement in the tent/room. Not sure what efficiency is at that wattage I'd guess 45-50% so 50-55 watts of heat. 3 of these together though produce less heat than any light I have, except my 4cob 1825 light, which is pretty close in efficiency when run at 75 watts per cob.

Yes I was floored by how bright it was. It made my livingroom in full daylight look dim when I fired it up...lol!

The two fixtures that @Stephenj37826 made for me have 4 quantum boards each, running at 80W apiece. The fixtures themselves pull either 330 or 340W, I'm not quite sure what accounts for the difference since in all respects they should be the same. It's not even a quibble, it just piques my idle curiously, lol

These two fixtures totaling 670W would be very serious competition for a DE fixture running at 1150W.

Proving this is my job and I'm looking forward to it!

You should do a special grow journal with those beasts. I cannot wait to see how it works out.
