AmareTech SolarEclipse350 experience??

Sorry for the intrusion! I've been lurking for quite some time, however just signed up today because I recently hooked up with Victor over at Amare Tech while on my quest for LED knowledge. I saw that pHarmerXxLEDxX had hooked up with him as well so I figured I would start a thread to get some information about this panels performance from people currently using it. I didn't get offered a kit to test (damn lol) however I did get a special pricing quote for 2 fixtures in exchange for an unbiased public review which is definitely a plus.

Here is a snippet of an email Victor sent me with some information pertaining to the fixture

"Thank you for your interest and inquiry in our canna-specific HI-LED grow lights. In relative terms, the Eclipse350UVB is about equivalent to a 600hps. It's recommended for a 3x3, but will easily cover a 3.5x3.5. One E350 will give u similar yield as a 600w with much better quality with higher medicinal properties. Two, will be comparable to running a 1000 HPS with a lot less heat, including the omission of the 700F degree HID fireball bulb. We're a little more conservative and realistic on our footprint recommendation, because we want to assure our growers achieve true HID performance, especially density, which equates to more yield.

The Eclipse and Solarspec260 are the among the highest PAR output per watt currently available, capable of surpassing HID in PAR, density, and efficiency. This two models will also surpass the light saturation of cannabis, which is 1500umol/sec/m2 with Equatorial strains up to ~1750umol/sec/m2.

For comparison the following is our PAR readings for a 4x4, and also included is the PAR reading for a Blackdog biggest panel, the 750w Platinum XL-U(MSRP$1995) that can only manage to generate a little more than 1/3 of the Eclipse(MSRP$895) peak PPFD at more than double it's wattage. The Eclipse is half the price uses all Cree chips vs. the Epsitar chips for the Blackdog, generates almost 3x the PAR intensity at less than half the wattage and cost making it a tremendous value. It also comes with a 5-year bumper to bumper warranty ensuring your lights will work flawlessly for many years of service.

The new all-aluminum SolarEclipse350UVB MSRP@$995."
===============

Im currently laying the groundwork for a 4x4x8 space (just got 2 20amp outlets hooked up ready to go this morning!) and am considering using 2 of these (I think I've changed my mind 5 times a day, each day over the last week while trying to decide on which panel to go with).

I know a pHarmerXxLEDxX is currently running these along with some other panels, and hyroot has one as well. I'd love to hear how people are using this panel currently and their results prior to me deciding to go forward - Im probably a couple months away from pulling the trigger anyway so i have some time to let it simmer. Does anyone have any experience/comparisons or even opinions/thoughts that they'd like to chime in with?

from the pics it looks a standard powder coated steel case, is that really all aluminum ?

Hmm, GG's lights are cheaper than that by nearly 2 hundo
I hear ya. Obviously price is something to consider, but for my and my mindset (I always go over the top... I can't help it) price definitely doesn't define my scope when looking at something I want (...to a certain extent. Im definitely not rich).

If I wanted something cheap that I knew "would work" I'd go with a Mars panel. But after seeing it literally melt on someone with a stable environment I haven't looked at price value as a deciding factor anymore. I had sold myself on the BML Spydr 1200 there for a bit if that tells you anything about where my head is at when it comes to price. Knowing that within the first 18months I will have easily paid for my investment makes me feel somewhat at ease with the big hit up front.

GGs panel is significantly more efficient, you will spend less on electricity for the same amount of light.

now if your talking about adding a UVB fluoro tube, you can do that much better with a separate T5 plus reptile bulb, and not push the heat from the T5 into the LEDs.

if your happy with the prices of a Cadillac unit then go for an apache, area51 or illumitex

It will grow some nice dank, no doubt. They are doing their own thing. I like the inclusion of single chips and monos to supplement the cobs. And if UV is something you are interested in, it's convenient to have it built into the fixture. There's definitely worse lights you can spend that $ on. Good luck in deciding. If you do grab one, please consider posting some thoughts on how it works for you.

Don't get me wrong GG has a sweet light coming out but he has ran into some delays and hopefully we will see them by the end of the month. Regardless he was interested in the Amaretech light and I've seen other talk about them can we find any valuable info for the man?

I'm under the impression there are white, red, and maybe blue singles? Thought I read that a while back but could be wrong. I cant find any info on the product page. What makes you think they are all white?

Edit: ah looks like I was mistaken. Perhaps the other versions have monos? Looking at this pic they appear all white...

This, it's like when looking at a car and you are deciding between a Toyota Avalon and a Lexus...you will get significantly more car for the $ in the Avalon as a brand new one costs about the same as an ENtRY level Lexus. Just because you have money doesn't mean you have to blow it all. I didn't suggest a China Panel, I suggested one that was better AND cheaper?

Hyroot's cob fixture(s) definitely had some mono's in it......don't know about the new models...

Hate car analogies........you wouldn't catch me dead in an efficient prius, soooo fuggly....on the other hand I don't give a shit about my grow light's aesthetics=as long as they are efficient and safe.

I'm guessing they are using cree xpg for the small chips, but I could be wrong, since as you say the website sucks (despite the pretty pics and layout) as far as full tech specs. They definitely said 5 watt chips. probably tried to mix different temps ?

I'm confused, I was comparing the amare to apache\area51\illumitex. at a grand a panel for a 300+ watts of leds that's their direct competition. GGs panel will prolly blow them all away for par/dollar cost, and it don't look like a prisass.

1000 bucks for 300w of who knows what leds is way too much. looks like a light built on hype. get a apache or bmL way before that party toy

Pretty sure the diodes arent that much of a mystery:

SolarECLIPSE™ 350+UVB

- 5w Cree XTEs, XPG's....(although they cant be running at 5w....)

- Cree 4500K 95CRI (P2, P4 or Q2 bin) CXA series 2520's (couldnt even get the better 2530's)

- UVB fluorescent bulb (yay)

When the Ameretech 1st came out, it was already outdated... jmo
Yes

remember at the time, the indulgent self promoter here, bless their heart, had only the Epistar equipped version early in the game, they cheaped out because the Cree's were too much :bongsmilie: :bongsmilie: ....are they still offereing that option?
