The cobs that are held in by the threaded
Aluminum rings? Well yes they would be loose if you take these off.

Ask Airwalker how his cobs were mounted on those garage specials. A few globs of silicone is a far cry from quality. Then he had issues getting a reply after he asked them about it. 6 plain jane cobs slapped in the Mars hydro housing built in a garage and you have the nerve to come here.

You do know what cob holders are don't you. You have the nerve to attack other companies falsely saying they're slapped together Mars panels and they're made in a garage. Amares are made and assembled in china.

again this is not your thread this is @OneHitDone thread he doesn't even own an Amare. he has cmh , hps, inda gro and Dawgs led

I'd rather have silicon holding a cob in place instead of being loose and held on by a ring. if you barley loosen that ring, the cob slides out of place.

Just got a secret email from Victor at amare, lol.
-new models are on point! when it comes to the latest and greatest diodes 3590s + xpg3 eventually. all top bins
-square and modular bar options will be available in the new secret models covering everything from 4x2 to 5x5.

Amare is going to be more expensive than a COB only panel. And it is warranted, adding monos to my new fixture (basically a design ripoff of an Amare) cost me a lot more money.

Can you be very successful with a white cob only panel, hell yes!!!
can you assist the plant in expressing some of its genetic potential by tweaking the spectrum a little, hell yes!!!
I'm curious what you are using as a goal, what ratio/percentages of what wavelengths you are aiming for. I've been combining spectrums in a spreadsheet quick and ugly, using different cobs and some monos alesh had digitized.

Sorry to hijack the thread.

I think we should all just stick to our own favorite company and respect each other, otherwise, we'll end up cock-fighting (again) and that's a real disservice to those who actually relies on our experience and knowledge to make their buying decisions.

@ hyroot, you've always been a stand-up, straight talking kinda guy that I respect and share the same value. In all fairness your panel was a prototype Victor was working on, because I had the other prototype panel and had the same issue with the whole cob array that wasn't mounted due to the removable lenses assembly. That was quickly fixed so just email him and he will send you the new ones. I still have the same panel and it's still make my girls happy.

The guy's a retired pothead and started Amare, because he's tired of the crap going on in this business and just want to help growers. Anyone that has talked to him will know he's a straight shooter that's very passionate about cannabis with an unlimited budget he plays mad scientist developing lights to grow. As far as Amare's concern these days, they just did the Cannagrow Expo in SD, Cannapa-Mundi in Rome, along with all major canna-expos in EU this year. Look for a lot more coming from them soon. Damn, I thought stoners are supposed to be chilled, because we're all acting like a bunch of tweakers. Let's all grab our peace bongs, puff, share and learn.

I stopped being their tester after he stopped replying to my emails. Then months later I got an email saying I'm avoiding them. That pissed me off. It was the other way around. I emailed him back and told him to check their spam folder or something. I couldn't get a hold of them. Then I got another email saying they're ending the testing program. He got sick of people talking shit. Then I never heard from him again. Several months prior he said wanted me to test their newer lights coming up.

when I tested the prototype. I had it in my hand for over a month before throwing it up. He was giving me shit for not running it. They lagged for months on sending it out. Every week there was another delay. By the time I got it I was already half way through a grow and told them I'd have to wait til the next grow. They were fine with that. Then a couple weeks later gave me shit for lagging.

There always seemed to be some sort of miscommunication and constant changes. They wouldn't even be using cobs if I didn't direct them to supra's thread.

in another post above I said it's been 2 years since I worked with them.

I'm still running the same panel. it's loud as fuck. I'm going to upgrade it in a couple months when I have some extra money. throw some LSD drivers and 3590's. cut holes in the panel where the fans are and replace the heat sinks with pinned heat sinks. it will look like something out of star wars when I'm done.

Who is attacking who? This is a thread for Amare pricing. No matter who started it, its for Amare. You ran in here promoting your friends silicone construction. These rings take 3-4 full turns to hold the cobs in place. If they slightly loosen they are still attached.

reread that last sentence it's a contradiction. I've been in this thread several times. Even on the first page. yes it does matter whose thread it is. start your own thread.

it makes me sad when all my favorite posters at each other's throats. :(

@Big smo I hope you don't mind this quick hijack as I believe it applies to the thread and could be useful in comparing color ratios between DIY builds and Amares current spectrum

@JorgeGonzales part of my choice was parts I had on hand, and filling in some quantity gaps based on the funds I had available to build the canopy10.
I went with:
(6) cxb3590 3500k CD @1400
(2) 4000K DB @1400
(2) 5000K DB @1400
(20) xpe 660nm @700
(10) xpe 630nm @700
(10) semiled 385-390nm violet/uva @700

if you want to simulate or digitize this for me, Ill love you even more than I already do!

Seriously, why do led's put everybody so on the defensive?
You don't see this shit in discussions on hps lamps - more like sitting back on your nuts watching closely to see what another grower can do with that other brand product.
The way I see it, the best way to gain the most knowledge is to shut the fuck up and and just observe - reading between the lines and absorbing minor details like a sponge.

Now - Everybody gather around :P

It's not my thread, all I'm saying is people are here for pricing on Amare lights. Any complaints shouldn't be had here. Neither should spamming for other companies.

And unless you want to be the cause for people heading to your friends threads I would try to show some respect as I'm not here to argue I was here to help cuddles.

Like I said, he's just a pothead with a lot of time on his hands but was probably overwhelmed in the beginning trying to put things in place. I helped him with a lot of the testing and yes, it wasn't fun for a while, because he kept changing his mind. Maybe got too creative with the meds:) U should give him some slack cause the guy means well and is one of the most passionate guy I've ever met about weed. Kinda nutty, but in a good way. Anyways, hate to see anyone misunderstanding or misjudging him so I'll shoot your post to him and see what he says. I doubt it had anything to do with Supra's thread him using cobs, because he was testing them in mid 2014 when I met him on another forum when he was putting Amare together. He had the panel done by by the end of summer and I got mine shortly after.

@Bigsmo, as I previously stated, it was an easy fix so the ones you have now no longer had the issue Hyroot and I had in the beginning.

I fully understand. I messed with them anyways to see how they held the lenses when I first got them. All good to me. I'm actually picking up 2 more lights this week to complete things.

I also agree with your comments about the trial lights. Of coarse things weren't 100% I would assume it would take many years to construct something like this that was flawless. Maybe that's why we are on the 3rd generation. Things progress and they still have the motivation to make things better. Can't bitch about that
