It's official! You can believe it!

Ya know Doer....

For as much as we've butted heads in the past, and got into some pretty good 'scuffles' (lol), I think we'd get along in person. Even when I disagree with you, you still make some pretty decent points.

Anyways, that's enough 'smoke blowing' :)

I got a new vape pen. :)

Give a scientist false data and let em run from there. Each and every scientist will be honest and forthright and still come to the wrong conclusion. There doesn't have to be a conspiracy, all the "scientists" of the dark ages would have agreed that the world was flat. Up until the 19th century scientists were unanimous on their belief that meteorites DID NOT COME FROM SPACE. Just because a majority believe in something does not mean it is true, using that reasoning is a fallacy.
yes, all those guys with a decade of university are jeopardizing their careers by cooking the data. You're a genius.

Who are "all those guys" and why are you a misogynist?

If it takes these climate specialists 10 years to get a 4 year degree, you might want to think about who you are supporting. Even a PhD doesn't take 10 years. If you think most of them have PhD's, think again.

Rarely a doctor in there...

And the ones that are generally arnt real doctors in subjects that matter.

I still say the data set is far too small for an accurate conclusion beyond "the climate changes".

My argument against fossil fuels is one based more on a "common sense" approach, why the fuck are we just burning fuels for electricity? There are a multitude of other options, covering sections of the Atlantic in wind turbines is one that appeals to a small island nation like us with a relatively large sea territory for our population. America has substantial deserts for solar, etc.

I understand fossil fuels are portable, and for that will remain necessary for some time in automobiles, due to energy capacity and easy of refill but concentrated research on battery tech, fusion (Im praying ITER works), higher density solar panels, etc. to me just seems like common sense if its "within reach" and is renewable, basically forever.

Relax. Take it easy. What's the hurry? We have forever. When fossil fuels are gone we will figure something else out. No one is going anywhere. Try to enjoy what you have today. Tomorrow will come and when it does we'll get through it all. This whole sense of urgency is a whole lot of drama. Even if we have to go back to riding horses, so what.

Up here, a PhD takes 8-11 years depending on the discipline.

So let me get this straight. You complain about name-calling then throw 'hypocrite' and 'misogynist' at me. wow. Very mature. When you get really upset do you throw you're ice cream on the floor and scream in aisle 4 as well? lol

I mean, I TRY not to burn shit in the kitchen... lol

.Just got home from a 13 hour shift.
Why is it lefties all have shitty jobs and work shift?

Occupy forever, tax the rich till theyre rich no more, then we can all be broke together.

I used to be an I.T. consultant.

I'm still A+ cert, MCSA, CCNA.... Was contracted out for $150/h.

Oh, and I have a degree in Philosophy, and a diploma as a 'Computer electronics technician'.....

I'm in culinary school now, because I CHOSE it. I love the work, and 60-70/week doens't deter or intimidate me.

Why are 'righties' scared of work?

I think this is somewhat shortsighted, long term planning is key to success.

How can one plan for the long term when the oceans are going to flood us all? We're doomed. All you can do now is enjoy today, for there will be no tomorrow.

Do you spend you entire paycheck the day you get and then when the mortgage is due just figure you will wing it?

anyone who cites the heartland institute is not following the science, they are taking a political side.

that would be you.

And as all of the readers of this thread can discern, your motives are indeed entirely devoid of any political influence whatsoever!
As pristine as the new driven snow!!!

Belly laugh of the day goes to UB!

"Polls have found that most Americans are worried about global warming, except for one group — tea party conservatives. A Pew Research Poll conducted last year found that only 25% of tea party adherents believe climate change is real, against 61% of non-tea party Republicans (and 84% of Democrats)."

Ok, so it appears that despite the best efforts of climate change deniers we have arrived: 61% of Republicans who are not tea party types believe climate change is REAL!
The GOP seems ready to stop attacking windmills and to return to the planet we call Earth.

This section of riu could get really boring but before that happens why don't we have one more kick at the can. Oh, don't worry. I'm sure we can still argue whether we've reached a tipping point and whose fault that is. For now though, please ignore that juicy carrot and focus on the issue at hand.

First, a moment of silence for Marco Rubio's political career.

It's much closer to this:

The vast majority

A degree in Philo is pretty much the ultimate transferable skill. My 'clown college credentials' made me a shit load of money.

Not that I really give a fuck what you think. lol
