I Ph after I add nutes. I was talking soil and when I'm watering with straight tap in between feedings.I know it will be different with hempy ad the feeding schedule not sure why I brought up straight tap haha(high).
Thanks for looking out though. :joint:

I've been wanting to try some new nutrients (Newtrients?) but the flora series have been pretty easy to deal with. Maybe once I hammer the Hempy in I can get something else. My reasoning behind lucas is because I already have the nutrients. and it seemed like a easy recipe to run. I cant remember what I read about people having trouble with lucas in hempy though, Im going to try and find that.

Now I believe these two plants are what are in with my hempy now. The hempy started way after and is a bigger plant. Which doesn't mean a whole lot, different strains anyways.

So in this next one the two above are 1 and 3 in the back. Did that make sense? Hempy is front right.

Good looking plants. Wish I had a bigger setup like yours. I grow in a tent I built out of 2x2s and black builders plastic use a 250 watt hps. Its not Ideal but The temps stay around 75 and it produces dense nugs. only problem is I cant really veg long. Really cant wait to start with the perlite.:-P

My tent will be short lived, I just got that one last weekend and the wife flipped so she's letting me have the corner of the garage :)

Jela, they are about an inch maybe inch and a half up but i've been under the impression that there doesn't have to be any runoff, so I never pour an amount that causes runoff. Just now realizing this could be causing salt buildup maybe? Will now be incorporating higher hole in future buckets and always a little runoff. Good to hear your plants are burn free; nothing like gazing at perfectly healthy plants!

Moebius,

Yes, that totally makes sense, I'll get it elevated.. When you say on the far side do you mean anywhere against the wall of the tent opposite from the main opening? Thanks for compliments on the tent setup, I know there is a lot of interest on hid/led combo grows, (using a blackstar 200 watt), but can't tell yet if buds are really benefiting.

Yep, you got it.

if ya' put it high at the far end of the tent, its sucking in that warm air/stale air and in the process cool/fresh air is pulled in through the door opening and circulates throughout the tent.

.. re your LED - using them as supplemental lighting is exactly how I would do it, I'm sure you'll get much benefit from them. Casper, What strain you running? Do you think the girls look a little 'leggy', like runway supermodels.

Are they started off with the HID at that height (is it fixed or do you gradually raise the hood?

Pretty much going to run lucas formula I think.Although I have heard Lucas is weird in hempy
i'm In 2.5 gal. buckets.
Bobby, the hempy method and Lucas method are very popular around the world....they seem to be made for each other. Have no fear there...my experience was great using GH FloraNova Bloom only....great stuff at 8/ml gal.

You are correct, no runoff could mean salt buildups and pH swings if you are running max nutes. Yes, don't be afraid to run that hole a little higher next time so that you have a good 2" res. The plants will drink it fast enough so that there isn't any pythium or root rot and watering frequency is more enjoyable. I run anywhere from 2.5 to 3 days watering in both coco and mapito mediums during full flower.

haha yes these girls have long legs! I vegged under t5, not sure why my plants stretch so much, might have been greater temperature swings, which I am getting under control; just got an extractor fan a few weeks ago. The strain is Sensi's Northern Lights and there is 1 Paradise Seeds Delahaze (that i cloned and will be running again) 1 Kandy Kush (wont be running again) and 1 G13 Labs OG13 (cloned and will run again) They were already pretty tall during Veg and with about 50% stretch in flower I raised it gradually in veg and just raised it a little during flower. At the moment I have the clones vegging under 400w mh and am lst them by tying them over with twisty ties and duct tape.

Has anyone used straight hydroton pellets for their reservoir, and added the perlite/permiculite on top?
Yes hydroton will work fine in the rez. I use perlite though, because it makes it easier for me to breakdown the buckets and recycle the perlite.

Decided to keep some mother plants, cloning off my veg plants leaves me with rather small clones and extra veg time. Anyway, was gunna pop em in soil, but now I'm leaning toward hempy's. 3 gal buckets good for moms maybe?

tallen - You'll be good in 3G hempys.

Updated pics, carbon filter at back of tent, could be higher but still looking around apartment for something to rest it on. Added supplemental lighting t5's and will lower ppm's with more frequent 5.8 plain water feedings. Thanks again guys, will post more pics with more questions I'm sure :)IMG-20130104-00473.jpgIMG-20130104-00474.jpg I know the t5 could be closer to plants but not sure the already sloping cross bars can handle any more weight

So, it seems my confusion over why I was having so many clones not root/root extremely slow, was because of my ph test strips!! As it turns out because of this I made my RW soak to acidic. Peeled most of the RW from the base of the clones and put them directly into the hempy cups (16oz) watered with PH 6 n they are flourishing now :) PH tester on the buy list asap. Any recommendations?? Price is not an issue, more looking for reliablity and easy maintenance. Maintenance wise, being able to replace diodes/tips. Thanks
