The cloth pot test. Still doing fine, hasn't really blown up but I don't blame anything. Because it hasn't grown like crazy I've yet to really use the plate as a res.
With my beta I used the least desirable plant also for the trial, but I did notice this last week increased vigor and bud loading, I just think it took it a while to get to the rez. So my thought would be to go with a rez. Make it small such that it gets used every day. Start with 1/2" and work your way up, I'm willing to bet this will help your runt pick up the pace once it sets roots in the water supply.

Hello fellow WOH growers. I finished chopping all the girls this weekend and my supply is finally replenished (thankfully). I'll get some pics up soon, but took me and my lady 3 hours to trim. Our hands were extremely sticky afterwards, so I think we'll be using gloves next time or ordering that humbolt soap to wash our hands. My jock horror had purpled leaves so it added to a nice appeal of the finished buds.

Took clones this weekend. I found something interesting that I wanted to raise at WOH. My plush berry mom (from clone) was vegging for around 10 weeks and is nice and bushy. There are a TON of preflowers everywhere and I even noticed that the plant is frosting. My hands were sticky as hell just cutting clones and this mom was in veg! Is this normal? Do mature clones produce frost in veg? I don't mind at all and in fact added all the leaves to my existing trim for hash. Will be nice when the clones root and I can fully chop the mom and extract more hash!!!
Dank, ..get some blue nitrile gloves at Home Depot for ≈5-7$ for 50. Amazon is even cheaper....They are nicely fit so you keep your dexterity with scissors. Sorry ..no guitar playing with them however. Cheap enough to toss every hour or so as you take a break which is necessary to reduce repetitive trauma to your guitar finger's tendons. The moisture while wearing does soften the pads on your finger tips so do air them out often to keep hammer-on's/off's crisp. Frosty mom's?... hmmmm. I have some fresh Blue Cheese sprouts that look frosty already...under a scope you can see a hairy texture that reflects light ...don't know if that's what you are seeing but frosty is good! Puts a sheen on everything....

Jela10, thanks for the advice on gloves. I'm definitely picking these up for the next round of trimming. The plush berry mom is pushing out crystals like a flowering plant. Thinking its because she's completely mature and wanting to bud. This is the first mom I've vegged for an extended period of time so it's new and interesting. Hoping the clones take though as she is a very nice plant to grow! The bag of plush berry drying smells very fruity.

Edit:

Jela10, I'll snap some pics of the mom so you can see what I'm referring to. Needless to say, I'll be making hash from her when I replace her with a new clone :)

Rapid rooters are an excellent choice or cloning. You can get a tray of 50 for about $20 and the tray is needed for these things since they cannot stand on their own and need support. One thing Ive found living in a colder climate seasonally, is that these little sponges can dry out pretty fast from lack of humidity. Don't get me wrong, I certainly have a clone dome to keep them happy. To ensue the rapid rooters are moist, I fill another germination tray with RO water about an inch high. I then take just the rapid rooter tray out and sit in in the water to let the sponges soak up water for a minute and let the clones get fresh air. Pull up the tray and gently shake away any excess water and put it back in the original tray. I find this is better than pouring water on top of them to soak the rooters. Had issues in the past with them not drying out and staying soaked from excess water.

Rapid Rooters are the Bomb Dank!....I've done some clones in them surrounded by perlite in hempy party cups and they did fine...but where they shine for me is seed germination. I used to soak seeds, put'em in paper towels then into the rooters but Subcool from TGA Seeds has a method that is lightening fast and easy. You turn the RR upside down (no hole end), jab the back end of some tweezers into it to make a slot, then pick up your seed with the tweezers and shove it in with the pointed end of the seed pointed down. Then you put the moistened RR's in a plastic shoe box ( they stand up easily with the wide end down now), close it up with a small CFL overhead it for warmth and instant gratification when the sprout appears. Flawless. I'd bet ya the same end of the RR would be great for clones too since the slot you make is a little more snug than the one they provide. Plus they stand up without the need for molded tray.

Hello W.O.H

Since my last grow post ive really just been trying to increase the stock of my moms whilst ticking over with a few plants. I'm still about 2-3 weeks of vegging Moms before I'm able to start my 2L x 120 run. Im going for 80 GDP and 40 Royal Cheese Hempy's for this next run and I'll be working off 8 GDP moms and 4 RC moms.

ATM. I have a few different strains going but they're not Hempy so we'll ignore those.

Veg Zone 1.

Veg Zone 2.

Clone area. (no longer under kitchen table!:wall:) Tomorrow I'll get 2nd Cloner online.

That front lot are Hempy but the ones on the right are boring reg square pots. (can't wait to go ALL 2L hempy)

This is a Royal Cheese Hempy that under normal light is tooo green with a couple of leaves showing yellow striping. Some sort of def/lockout but no problem for me. The lockout has caused the plant to foxtail. When I start my proper run i'll be careful to keep this in check.

I know Its poor etiquette to post a non-Hempy pic on W.O.H, but I have shown this GDP mom before, its what I'm working off for my next runs.

Its very short with rock hard nuggets. Smells great but can't identify too much as I have 5 or 6 strains in the garden atm.

The purple is coming ....... lol. seriously. ... atm its mainly on the leaves but its has taken a darker hue all round. In a couple of days I'll post some better pictures in proper light.

My pics suck atm moment.

In a few weeks I'll upgrade my camera and take my pictures in normal light.

I veg at 24/0.

The GDP is really nice, the pic doesnt do it justice. Yield isn't as much as some strains but the quality of the buds is superb, I can tell already its going to smoke real nice. I just need to dial into a 2L SOG.

My temps are probably too warm to get the cartoon purple, I realise that now, I'll try to do something about that next time round. I have 6 or so starting in Hempys now but I'm more interested in seeing it done SOG style.

Nice! When you do your next round of hempy are you going straight 12/12 from rooted clones or will you veg for a couple of days?

I can't do veg, too many Hempys and I would need another room as I'm in perpetual harvest atm. Mine are straight to 12/12 from rooted clone. In fact, the clones are going in with about 2-3" of roots (very young!) ... I feel there is less chance damaging the roots when transplanting to Hempys if the roots are shorter.

I like the scatter-gun approach. Just get them lots of them going, as quick as possible.

i read somewhere that giving them some iced water in the last few weeks can bring out the colour a treat but idk, anyone have experience doing this?
my purple passion has been on hold lately, i've been busy with xmas ect, i was looking to start them yesterday but i have lost a 5 pack of querkle which must have been thrown away with the rubbish
i still have singles of G13 Labs Purple Haze,Berry Bomb,Dutch Passion Shaman which i will pop today and my thc bomb i have in flower atm is trying to purple up due to cool nights but not so you could see with a camera, just a little bit lol

Ive heard the 'ice water' thing before. .. I would worry about stressing the plant, i'll look into it more and if I can find someone who does it I may give it a try. ... To lower night temps I'm considering running my lights during the day.

Ineverveg - Thats a shame about losing the Querkle, from what Ive seen theyre amazing. .... did you buy singles on the other strains? ... Ive always said 'I won't buy singles for lack of variation' but the freebie Royal Cheese from Attitude is looking promising for me.
