I came on this thread cuz my new strain is not filling out calastyx wise. I am confused. I flower when my plants are 12 to 18 inches. Before i lay trellis or anything how would i supercrop in veg?

With all this being said about filling out, I was wondering if this look about normal for week 5 of 12/12 ? The pics also make them look a little bigger because it's close up. She is indoor with only 3 120 watt cfl

I'm a first time indoor grower, have grew outdoors the past 4 years. I have kind of the same question. I have 3 ladies into flowering 5 1/2 weeks, the tips of my pistils are starting to turn red. I'm thinking maybe another 2 to 2 1/2 weeks, any and all info is greatly appreciated.

You need to check the triclomes you want them all to go from clear to milky and I like to see a couple Amber triclomes also before I harvest to make sure she has finished

Okay, I know this is an 8 week flowering cycle and all...

And if you check my last post, progress report you can see I have three monster girls. The tops though seem to be a little misleading to me. I am now seeing a few pistils turning red, not very many but it is beginning. Maybe 2 to 3 percent...

However there is very little bud formation. Most the weight is in the mass amounts of pistils. There is very little bud (very very little) there with just about six weeks into flowering. I have googled and read but find very little information on what to expect the past two weeks and when to expect the calyxes to swell into the bud we all know and come to love the most.

This is a last week or two thing I gather? Or could this be something else?

Can someone describe the process for the last week or two a little better.

Or if they have a link to a good detailed description of it. The two grow books (one mag and one local head shop production don't go into detail much and google turned up little)

I'm sure this may be normal, I mean the plants seems pretty damn healthy. I just like understanding each step, around when it occurs so I can react and be progressive about my adventure.

I have a good understanding of all the stages, including, cutting, hash harvesting, curing, drying, etc. Just the last couple weeks or a timeline of what to expect during flowering is hazy between pistils stretching out around 1 to 2 weeks and the actual swelling of the calyxes.
what u see in bud size around wek 4 -5 will be round bout the size u will get they will fatteb up but don't exspect them to explode up to weight in the last 2 - 3 weeks they just get more juicy

I completely disagree, I watched my plants daily once flowering began. yes, call me eager beaver, but from 4 females, I noticed that I never saw a calyx until the "big swell". all I saw during my flower period were pistils shooting out from a mass of new growth. not until my fifth week did I see my calyxes showing like a Mexican star piñata with the white paper coming out of the tips. hope this helps someone; just because u are six weeks into flower doesn't mean u should be seeing "coke bottle" shaped buds

Hello guys i have a question,

here's my update entering 4th week of flowering, why do the buds/budsites look like stretching? And the budsites(along the nodes of the entire stalk) still dont have pistils forming, they are just stretching, the buds look like they are growing longer. Also, on top of the colas, i still dont see any pistils, just new leaf growth,

or is it like this: budsites will stretch for a week or two, then the filling/thickening of the buds will happen the following week?

Do this look normal to you? I think my plant is sativa, i cant compare it to ur posted pictures, is it good for a 4week old sativa grown indoors, btw its my first ever grow. I just follwed the tips and tricks of the experienced growers here at rollitup.com

Any comments suggestions or anything are welcome. Thank u

your plant is making room for calyx explosion. first your buds will look long, sick, and skinny. then as you ripen, the calyxes will begin to swell and your buds will begin to look like bananas. they will continue to fatten until you don't see any new pistil growth. at that time u should give her 48-72 hours of darkness to force out the remaining cannabanoids. terpenes and resin glands should be at a peak by then.

also... what lighting, growing medium, fertilizers, watering schedule, light distance, temps(canopy temps and ambient), room size, etc. would help immensely. make a checklist on a piece of paper then send the results back to us

looks like u have poor lighting that is too far away, but most definitely sativa, I'd say 90-95% look at those super slender blades. sativa dominant if not pure. u really need to transplant to +5 gallons, u won't be sorry, ur stretch will stop and she will concentrate on root growth and bud production. don't forget the uv rays for better resin gland production, but it is inevitable either way. best of luck and that is a beautiful canopy

i vegged it for 40 days, i think its a girl for this time, but just like what "experts" say it might be a hermie later,

after switching it to 12/12, I see the pistils on the whole plant after 1 week, then the following week up to now (4th week) i see the budsites at the stalk are growing taller, when i say budsite,it is where u see the buds like your pictures,

is this how buds are formed? Like, leaf sets first, and then calyxes, then pistils? Im talkinf about the buds under top colas, just to make it clear.

Just a bagseed, but good quality, i think mid, like in between SHIT WEED/street weed and GREAT WEED.

This is my first grow ever im so happy that i got a girl, i hope so, hehe. Im from philippines and here we dont have strains of weed like u guys can buy online, in my opinion great weed/high quality bud here in the philippines are just homegrown ordinary seeds but grown in a setup like u guys do and harvested at the right time and dried slowly and cured.

And schwag/shit/street weed here in philippines are grown in mountain regions, and the farmers do not really know how to grow/dry/cure weed. They are jacikng it up, resulitng a shit bad of brick weed. Haha

Last time i grew a plant from a bagseed of shit weed, and i killed it after a week,

Do u think if i grew a plant from a shit weed and take a lot of care and harvested, hang dried, cured at the right time, will i have a better quality buds than a brick weed harvested too early, not dried and cured the right way. Will i?

For the lights, 5cfl bulbs, i have a tOtal of 150w. Placed 1.5-2inches above the colas/canopy. And i have mixed spectrum of lights, 2 warm white and 3 cool white.

And about my container, im planning not to transplant it, will it make it through harvest? Im always attentive at watering, i never let the leaves wilt before watering. I read other posts that they managed to grow on a 2 liter or smaller containers and have a good looking buds and plant yet they only have low yield/ just an ounce or a few grams,im ok with that as long as i have good quality nice looking buds hehe im not aimimg at the weight, im just looking for good quality buds like u guys are growing,

Looks like my msg is too long, i composed this 30 minutes ahaha wtf or am i just really locked on my couch. Thanks for ur reply man and im lookimg forward to have another response from you. ☺.

Btw this i took a picture at the budsites im talking about, is that how buds form? And also can u see the crystal-like reflection at the leaves? Are those reflection of a trichomes? I wish it is and they are just starting to show up and soon became a frosty bud leaf.am i RIght at what am i talking about? Haha

Just answer what u understand guys cause i have a lot of questions above thanks in advance

u have the concept down very well. step back and just picture your plant as a light catcher. if u get all ur branches even with ur main stem, u will have a very efficient light catcher at your colas. don't be afraid to tie a string to her to give her a better tanning bed lol. and yes the buds grow just as u suspected, very very slowly lol. ur doing wel just remember get those lights close, if it doesn't get hot on ur hand it will most likely be just fine, tune it in, take ur time, it's kinda like bedding a woman, if u show her ur worried about her feeling good, she will return the favor lol. good luck and have fun. it will grow regardless lol

one more thing, by the size of those stems it looks like u r too far into the red spectrum for vegging, red will give u awesome leaves and stems lol, but the blue will keep ur nodes close and ur stems from becoming 2 inches thick with 1 gram nugs, the crystallike reflections u see are trichome formations. just wait in a week or two ur gonna wake up and it's gonna look like a snow day lol, wish I was there to see ur excitement when that happens rofl

it's very possible to baby a bag seed to its unexpected brain wrecking potential with the right setup and care. I'm not so strain dependent as I am in proving that any plant can be bomb, some r just harder than others and require more finesse

First you will need to get the correct form. They are available through your local agricultural extension. Next file it with the proper payment, don't be late or you will be sent to the back of the line. After your paperwork has been checked out you will receive a letter authorizing your buds to swell. .Pretty simple really
