and finally I will shut up after this, but for every square foot of grow space I would shoot for 8-10 thousand lumens vie vegging, get the 2700k bulbs for vegging, then throw in some 6500k on top of the 2700k for flower, I try to double my lumens for flower evaluate the mid August sun is mighty intense

Vegging 6400k +....better off doing a full spectrum anyway with cfl's 3:1 ratio
eah full spectrum flouros or even an HPS with make ur dreams come true, I'm just trying to help with the setup u already have, I know how it is, and I love my $1 each cfls lol. u won't get the density like hps or even mh(veg light), but u will get some decent reefer

what I'm trying for now is some bud I will fall in love with, I'm int making oil, a gram of oil will last ten times longer than a gram of bud lol, and it sells for double, anyway I'm not trying to tell u what to do or anything, but I would try to cut her height atleast in half with some low stress training (lst) google it lol. u won't be sorry, and all ur branches will turn into vertical meristems and u will have multiple massive king colas, but by the looks of ur chic, she is heavy sativa and could go for 7+ months on you, be prepared

and wiethe20, the 6500k I only suggested for added flower power lol. vegging goes well with the 2700k, but I do agree the warm daytime full spec bulbs will do both

the mid section of ur plant is probably most accurate for aging/ bud comparison. the bottom is constantly trying to push more sun suckers up and of course the tops are always full of infants, ur elongated branches are your best bet because unless topped or trained they are usually the most consistent and "tell-tale" bud sites. just from my experience anyway, but every grow is different and really can't be compared. each plant is like its own world, it's up to u to make a fitting ecosystem for your life forms (buds) lol, MOST IMPORTANTLY, ONCE YOU THINK SHE IS DONE AND READY TO CHOP DOWN, GIVE HER FOUR MORE WEEKS, YOU WOULDNT BELIEVE HOW MANY MURDER THEIR GIRLS FROM UNDEREDUCATION OR IMPATIENCE, RESEARCH IS YOUR BEST FERTILIZER

atleast it's not a solo cup he will have to stress the plant by transplanting a million times like I've seen so many do lol

there is a balance to meet, who wants to waste most of their grow waiting for roots to catch up, plant it right the first time. "hey let's rip this baby out of this womb and put it in a bigger womb, it won't do anything but sacrifice a 8th of ur growing season lol, some will disagree but the plant like to work on one part at a time. that's why u see a seedling go from one inch to one foot in a couple of weeks and then slow way down sometimes, if they don't have to wait for a transplant they don't slow down. I will never understand it, u have to water less often, the grow is more natural, ur not poisoning ur roots with light and raw O2, unlike the single molecule oxygen plants draw thru the soil. and lastly, less mess less money less work and less risk

it's very possible to baby a bag seed to its unexpected brain wrecking potential with the right setup and care. I'm not so strain dependent as I am in proving that any plant can be bomb, some r just harder than others and require more finesse
Man u made my day! U gave me hope and u made my hairs stand up like there's a ghost beside me hahahha! Thanks for.yr positive feedback, i will update u on my progress, thanks a lot lst dreamer haha. I'll do the best i can like what u said more lights and tons of patience and care haha

First time grower with a question. Should I be trimming the single leaf from my plants regularly? My first grow and I don't want to trim too much, but I want they energy directed more towards the flower and the bud.

the fact that you are not going to get a new one is a very good starting point for planning a good grow. Don't cut anything that is higher than a fist. make a fist like you are giving a thumbs up. then cut everything below your top finger. this should allow for all your energy to be directed to your bud sites. Your most important concern right now should be making as many bud sites as possible. the best advice I can give you is tie it down the best you can. when you tie it down all the side branches turn into main colas. your yield is multiplied by tens.the main stem has a horomone that promotes vertical growth. when you tie the branches down gravity automatically causes the branchss to begin making all new main colas. this is low stress training. every week when you adjust the ties, pinch the top of each small branches. this will help make new branches, which will in turn make new main colas. your yield will be exponentially increasing as the new growth turn into main colas. a one ounce plant will very easily be turned into a one pound plant. just be prepared to veg out for atleast two months.

Is this message for me lstdreamer? i veged almost 2 months and now flowering for 1 month= 3months) ..u said 7+months,do u mean 7+months from seed to harvest
or 7 months left on flowering stage?

one more thing, by the size of those stems it looks like u r too far into the red spectrum for vegging, red will give u awesome leaves and stems lol, but the blue will keep ur nodes close and ur stems from becoming 2 inches thick with 1 gram nugs, the crystallike reflections u see are trichome formations. just wait in a week or two ur gonna wake up and it's gonna look like a snow day lol, wish I was there to see ur excitement when that happens rofl
Does that mean my stem are bad? Or is it good? I have mixed spectrum on my setup 2 warm white and 3 cool white, and im planning to add more cfl bulbs, what should i buy? More warm white? Here is an update i just suppercroped 4 colas cause i cant tie them(LST), 20150818_005435.jpg20150818_005502.jpg

I still dont see bud formation at the top of each colas, i just see new leaf growth, does that mean the stretch isn't over and my plant will still grow taller?

nice job buddy, sativa dominant strains always take a long time, and by the looks of those leaf blades u are pushing very sativa heavy. sayi as are the royalty of marijuana with Thc levels up to ten times higher than her indica cousin. some indicate are sixty day finishers because they have been bred and adapted to being grown in a cooler climate with a much faster photoperiod. the wait for sativa is grueling but u won't be sorry when she peaks. patience my friend, this is why I'm mainly an indica heavy grower, I depend on turnover rather than quality. if I were u I would leave her alone to adjust to the stress so she doesn't hermie, other than that keep doing what ur doing. ur stems are a lol stretched and big but some warm bulbs with 6500k in the red spec should flower it nicely

Haha i guess i just have to wait for it, ill just score a kilo of weed and be stoned for the next 2 months haha. My stems are stretched? I thought sativa strains are known for stretching, what do u mean by stretched sir? Internode spacing or the length of it? And big stems? Big as in thick stems? Is that good or bad for me, haha im confused,

i thought i have tight internode spacing and my stems are thin,

By the way ive topped this on veg and trained them so it will have more colas rather than 1 top cola,

If my stems are thick and long, is that abnormal? Bad?

I saw pics of other's colas and i compare it to mine and i see its not the same. Like this one
