I thought the same thing too about LED companies using random numbers for comparison to established lights, such as MH, but 240W isn't 250W, and what does 90W compare to? Again, it seems more like a marketing strategy. Picture a big bag of Doritos but with only a few chips inside.[/QUOTE]
I hear ya man, I like cooking at home, there's nothing they sell out there that I can't cook better at home (or die trying.). But this is not a cooking site. In the old days we were only dealing in watts and it was very simple. 600 was better than 400. Now the numbers are meaningless. Every manufacturer comes up with some new number to describe their light. I can't even keep track of them all anymore.

The vent holes on each end of the optic are 1 3/4 diameter knockouts! Plenty of airflow over the heatsink! I can feel the hot air so I thought that meant it was working?
The hotter the air coming out, the hotter the heatsink was that it just came over. Remember, the heatsink is still warmer than the air coming off it. 3-1/2 months isn't really indicative of whether it will last 70,000 hours (16 years)

Oh yeah! You will love watching these units work there magic! I have noticed that strains have been finishing a week to ten days earlier than breeder rec,and the oil production from the cob spectrum is unmatched >frosty greasy nugs!
All that in three months?

Almost anything they sell (food-wise) is better than what I can cook at home. Making coffee is a challenge for me.

Nice looking light. Love my vero 29's! My grows do finish quicker now. Where were you 18 months ago. Cob lights are not that cheap to build. Drivers.

I see where you're coming from. If it weren't for the impressive efficiency hurdles that LED/COB technology has made in recent years, the wattage standards for growing crops would be more relative with one another.

I'd like to cover those canyons of confusion to the best of my ability with Heaven Bright; if there is something that you aren't seeing on the product pages , that you personally feel would make it easier for others to proceed when choosing a fixture, please o' please shed some insight!

oh man, anybody can make food, it is easy, just comes naturally. Now making a light? Oh no, that would be impossible. I should make you some food and you should make me a light.

Don't know why quotes are coming out all fucked up. Your food would probably be better than my light.

I have have been testing panels for the last 8 months. Here is working knowledge over that time. There are a few people around here know that strains finish early with the LEDs! not all them! and the oil production is off the charts.View attachment 3444289
I see an Area 51 light there and you're using it to promote other brands? You are being deceptive.

same here. I just post because I know optic is reading and it is my chance to let them know how I feel. I go to their website and all I see is a metal suitcase suspended in mid air with a bunch of tech specs I don't understand. I come here and a member posts a picture over his crop and then it starts making sense.

ok, I've trashed this thread out enough, time for me to lay low and do more reading and less posting

and no, my best food is probably not any better than your best light, it's kind of hit and miss, but I have noticed, a good light can make the food taste much better

My food tastes better if you eat it in the dark.
