that is far from streatched. that stem will swell and when it does that space is going to close right up. the lower leaves on my plants always do that, its just the leaves that took the most initial shock and wear. its ok to cut them off, if it spreads to other leaves or new growth its a problem.

no lazypothead420..when thos first round things come out..the first set of leaves that comeup...thos ones became brittle and were breaking so i cut them off...
also overheating suddenly became an issue...so i moved them into the bigger spot tonight..ill have pics up later...i need to get a bigger fan to help cool off the room and help with stem development.....oh another question!! right now i have them on a 24 hour light schedual...but i was wondering...if i switched to 18/6..could i have the CFLs on for 16 and then when thos are off for the 6 have the "shoplight" ish growlight on for the 6..cuz it doesnt seem to be producing as much light as the CFLs do, and the light it does give off is a blueish purple(is that good or bad)

Im sure its fine for those leaves to fall off, as long as the whole plant isnt lookin dead, lol. Look into computer (muffin) fans. I'd just either keep them off totally for the 6 hrs or leave them on all the time.

temp is back to normal now...but i have a question..(big suprise)..i have 2 plants growin...in the first pot with the smaller one in it its just the plant...but the second pot with the bigger plant in it has something commin out near the side of the pot...see pic...i know this is part of the plant but i was just wondering if this could go...cuz i figured that if that wasnt there then the plant could concentrate more on feeding the other leaves and what not...
...any suggestions

I'd say rip it out, it doesnt look like a part of your plant.. possibly grass or sumthing, lol. Oh and if you keep them cfl's a lil farther away you wont have any heat problems.. I have 10 cfl's on one plant about 3 inches away and it never burned because of that (even though my cat fucked my fan up and burned her anyway's, lol). Also be sure to look into those computer fans!!

looks like a bluegrass or a crabgrass seed got in the mix with the soil, its nothing that will harm your plant, just use nutrients and water. just pluck it.

i love it when people see these little things and freak out cuz they think they have like 5 plants from 1 seed...

its really odd that the cfl lights effect the temp that much... the only time i have ever had a problem is when i didnt move them befor the plant grew into them... like touching them... what is the highest watt bulb you have? anything lower than the 42ws really shouldnt really put out that much of an amount of heat... any type of oscelating fan would work, comp fans are great for bringing air into and out of the box. youl need a small desk fan or something like that for air movement and stem structure, also to keep the plants and lights cool.

cfls throw off the least amount of heat when it comes to lights, so idk man, does your box have any ventelation? even if you just put like one or two small holes in the top and then 2 to 4 same size holes around the bottom of the sides that would get some air moveing in and out. just make sure there are iether more or bigger openings on the bottom than the top.

hey people!
i just went out today and got some more stuff for the room..
i got a humidity guage, 2 more 23WCFLS, 2 light fixture Ys, and a light timer..

so now i have 4 23W CFLs in there, plus my 24 inch growlamp, (estamated over 6600 lumins)

also im workin on tryin to find a bigger fan to put in there..

thos extra 2 CFLs brought the room temp up to 80...(is that bad?)

shit...nvm...im taking the extra 2CFLS out because i just checked it again and it was up to 90...so ill just keep the 2 in there untill i get a bigger fan..

right now im turning the CFLs off and letting the grow lamp take over for now untill the temp is back to norm.

also i am starting a 18/6 schedual tonight...

and im trying to estamate when to flower and what not...so far i have...
flower around march 4th, and harvest around april 24th...

how does that sound...close?

hmm, do you have any ventelation in the area you have them in? new air coming in, old air going out? that kind of thing? if not then the fan will just be blowing the hot air around, not cooling it.

i dont have anything actualy set up for that right now... but everyday i open it up and "fan" some air in there...

eventualy i will have some type of vent system up

well even just 2 1 inch wide holes in the top and like 4 1 inch holes along the botom of the sides would at least get the hot air out and new air in, this would solve your heat problem... for now.

im not in that box no longer..ive moved to a bigger space in the closet..when i get some more money im gonna get a vent system set up

k, sorry kinda spaced that, i just dont know how the cfls are throwing off that much heat, i have a 400w in my little closet and it stays at about 80 to 85, but i haveto leave my door open all day... so idk man, sorry i couldnt help too much. once you get that venting in you should have no prob.

kk..i just started a 18/6 hour schedual. but i want to keep it kinda small...and i know its gonna grow about 3 times its size...so should i just start flowering now and let it get 3 times bigger or so..or should i just let it grow for 2 more weeks on the 18/6 schedual?

hey guys just keepin ya posted on the action..

the plants are still looking healthy. no signs of yellowing or anything.

i water them about once a day.or every otherday if the soil still feels damp.

more growth in the nodes!!! looking good

i got a bigger fan to put in there (but its got quite a hum to it so im not gonna leave it on 24/7.)
ill put the other lights in there as soon as i start flowering (around early march)

the other littler one is doing alot better then i thought...

as far as pics goes...
the first 2 are the bigger one (named sammy)
the second and 3rd are the smaller one(named lil thing)
the 4th pic is just a close up of sammys node...

(sammy named so cuz it sprouted on my girlfriends birthday) (lil thing named so because its just a lil thing)(or at least it was when it was named)

lookin great man!! they dont look streased in the least bit. i would wait a few more weeks for flowering, if you plan on the beginning of march that would be good. and the extra lights arent compleatly nessicary untill flowering anyway. looks like you got it goin good man! keep up the good work!

and its never for nothing man! i bet you learned alot about and from your plants even just this far in! its a learning experience!:bigjoint:

idk if you would want to do this but i did it by accident and it kinda worked in my favor. put the plants into 12/12 right now, keep them in the 12/12 for a week, right when the week is up put them back on 18/6. they should flower within a few days after that, the male first if there is one and the female second... males show sex faster than females... what im thinking is that because you dont let it go into full flowering phase befor you switch it back to veging lighting it doesnt streas or delay the plant growth as much as if you just had it in 12/12 till they flowered. just my experience growing the same strain a few times.
