k well this is my first time trying to grow..(and also my second time trying to post on this site...hopefully this time it will work..)

so for starters where am i growing..
answer. i have a grow box set up..its relativly small and im planing on moving them to a bigger room when they get bigger...but for now i just have to box set up to get started..

in the box..i have 2 fans set up one for air to come in..and one smaller one pushing air out... i have the walls covered in foil... dull side out to distribute light better..i have 2 lights on the top(im not sure the technical term for what kind of light, maybe someone can tell me?(hint hint))

im gonna attempt to get some pics of the box...

now this project was started around jan/15..i have 2 plants now..one sprouted on jan 22nd, and the other one on the 23rd..

the other pictures i am goin to try to upload are what they look like as of feb/3rd

(imm not really sure about this attachments things or what not or how to get pictures on here at all..(maybe someone can also help me with this?? ((hint hint)))

k now as far as soil goes...i started them both in just plain miracle gro in small cups..but then around jan 30th i transplanted both of them into gallon sized buckets with a 2 parts miracle gro/1 part vermiculite mixture...i water them about once a day unless it feels like they dont need it...

so there you have it folks...i hope that the attachments worked....and let me know how im doin..and what else i need to do...

also im not trying to grow a crapload of it..im just growin to try it out and mess around with it..if it works it works if not oh well...
im also trying to keep it as chemical free as possible...(and not only that im on a budget of 0 dollars so i cant go buy a bunch of fancy lights and stuff)

:leaf: thanks :leaf:

well they sprouted and survived so, so far so good, i would recomend trying to make a larger grow space when you get the money because the space will not allow for a yeild worth the time you invested. im not gona harp on the cardboard because you gota use what you can but more CFLs are always a good idea

he said he was going to move it to a bigger area.

it looks good man, especialy for a first atempt, i know why this is your second atempt at the site and so do others, but thats all good man! ; ) the freakll help!

those lights are 13w cfl bulbs, the second pic looks like they are the 6500k daylight bulbs, which is better for starting and growing the initial plant. the others look like the regular 2700k bulbs, those are better for flowering, or budding. so swithch back to the daylight ones untill you flower, but you will deffinately need more light.

they will be fine untill you move them to a bigger area, when you do that it would be a good idea to get a joing splitter so you can have two bulbs in each outlet. you will need to get bigger bulbs too. get the biggest 6500k or daylight cfl bulbs and when you are going to flower get the 42 or 45w 2700k bulbs. that should do just great as far as lighting goes.

they will need to be transplanted soon after being moved to the bigger area. just cut the sides of those cups all the way down with scisors or a razor. then just put it in a bigger pot with new soil in it.

im taking it that the last picture kinda picked up the glare from the light above it, it looks waaaaaaaaaayyyy too yellow... it would be dead if it were really that yellow all over like that. very bad pic.

the box that there in right now is 14 inches high X 16.5 inches wide X 10 inches deep..
when they get a little bit bigger im gonna move them into a space that is 2 feet high X 2.5 feet wide X 1 foot deep...
then im gonna keep the box set up and if all goes well try to use that as a clone grow box....
as far as lights go i was able to buy a 2 foot "shop light" like light fixture with grow bulbs for it..(still unshure of what kind of lights)..but that will be when the plants get moved into a bigger space...

thanks for the reply..
the lights in the box are the same lights..its the cameras white balance that changed...making the second picture look yellower...speaking of yellowing..the pictures of the plants that look too yellow were taken with my cam corder cuz the camera wont get in close enough to show details...so that plus the combo of the light reflection is causing it to yellow out...my profile pic was taken with my webcam ..(does that look any better?) i could take a picture of them using my camera but it will be really blurry..
as far as other lighting go...im not sure if i will have budget to get any more lights...i have 2 of the 13w CFL a 23w CFL, a19 W CFL and a 9w CFL...would it be ok to just put all of thos..(minus the 13wCFL) into the bigger space..(that plus the new grow light i got)

Looks good pretty clean setup. Im fairly new but before i put my journal up i had alot of trial and error. The only thing i would suggest is loose the foil. Use the mylar on the inside of chip bags to save cash. When u move to the bigger space i would use as many of your lights as u can. even the 13. If possible mount your lights horizontally, it gives the plants more light. But like i said real clean setup for what u have good luck growin m8

i can put the 13s in there buti will have to take them back out when im ready to cut clones...cuz im gonna use the box to grow the clones in...
after i move the plants ill see about some mylar or something like that...

also glassfreak...i already transplanted them both into a gallon sized bucket.(the first try was a bit messy((i didnt use enough water or something cuz the soil cracked and a little bit of it stuck in the cup(but its fine))and the second one(the bigger one) went without a hitch..

thanks for the replys more updates to come..

if your going to make that thing into a clone area, just throw the 9w in there, that should be enough for whatever amount of clones you will be able to fit in there.
clones dont need light to grow, they use the energy from theyre leaves to make new roots, the light is just so they know they still have a chance of survival, it makes them try to survive by making roots.

ah nice tip man..that makes sense...also i have things of CO2 is that gonna affect anything if i release it into the box?..cuz everything ive learned about how plants work is that they take in oxygen and water and convert it into sugars and CO2..so i dont see how releasing Co2 in there is gonna do anything to help at all...but i hear of other people doin it...

no plants take in co2 and sunlight along with water and nutrients from the soil (or grow medium) and release oxygen. roots need oxygen to grow so its not a good idea to flood the box with co2 untill they go into flowering. when you do that you will need to have the box as airtight as possable, you want as little of the co2 to escape as possable, this means closing up fan vents while flooding the box, taping all the holes up and the door, just to make sure its airtight... but you dont have to... any co2 boost helps budding.

If your talking about the leaves that dont look like pot leaves at the very bottom of the plant, they usually die and fall off.. But anyways, lookin good! Get sum more lights bro, the more the merrier! Good luck:leaf:
