Trudeau would start legalizing pot 'right away'

In the logical world your right 100%
However when was the last time our government did the most logical thing in any situation.
They can do whatever they like and most of the time that's what benefits them the most.
I wish it were as straight forward as you guys think but I think if any candidate was as open about mj and home grows as some of you think then they would be selling that point for extra votes.

I think it makes the most sense to vote for whichever candidate has the best chance of pushing out the fuehrer in your neighbourhood.
In my hood ndp has won every election since I've lived here

No, they won't say much except that they will legalize or decrim. The reason for the tight lips is the con smear campaign. Any little thing will be used against everyone and at this critical point in the election they don't want to give the cons another loaded gun like Jr. did just by announcing he supported legalization.

Remember the spin? All of a sudden, the one guy who spoke up with a reasonable solution was labeled as supporting kids getting high. Which, under legalization really wouldn't happen as easily as it is now.

The thing about home grows is that if the plant is legal, the SC would toss out any cultivation charges because they can't say the plant is legal to posses and consume but not grow.

Would be different if it was something that needed a lab to be created, but all mj needs is dirt, sun and water.

I would rather hear someone putting themselves on the line for what they believe in instead of what they think I want to hear about...I was swimming this morning and there are very young people working there...most likely fist time voters so I asked if they were going to vote...the one young guy wasn't even sure who the fucking parties were let alone who to vote for...but they know Harper has to go...the one young girl said she was encouraging all the lifeguards to get out and vote...for me at this point, while it is more applicable for me to vote green, I will give my vote to the live bcause JT had the balls to say he would do legalize...I also like the deficit spending to keep things moving along....slam away...

For me it's all about turfing the corruption, secrecy and blatant lies.
It's also about having someone in office who can restore the countries standing on the world stage.

I laugh at all of the promises the 3 major parties are making, they've all been making huge promises that will cost boat loads. Of all of the promises I hope to see happen is the infrastructure money. Aside from that, I'll believe it when I see it.

The current government is corrupt, it's been proven time and time again both in public and the courts, they also show no regard for Canadian law or our charter rights.

And the list goes on.

A perfect example of a stupid campaign pledge. Really, this made me laugh at its idiocy. Sure pandas are cool to look at but is this really an issue? Sure, it may be a light hearted but geesh, I had just made a comment about all of the outrageous promises being made, then I read this.
Harpers Panda Promise:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/conservatives-pledge-to-double-canadas-panda-population-by-2016/article26613426/

"Talk about pandaring to the electorate.

Amid debate over trade negotiations, climate change and the economy, the federal election campaign took an odd turn Wednesday when the Conservatives issued a light-hearted statement on news that a panda at the Toronto Zoo is pregnant.

“With the exciting announcement by the Toronto Zoo this morning of giant panda Er-Shun’s pregnancy, the Conservative party today committed that a re-elected Conservative government would set a target of doubling Canada’s panda population by 2016,” the party said in a press release.

Of course, the tongue-in-cheek promise is out of Stephen Harper’s hands.

Er Shun, one of two giant pandas on loan from China, is pregnant with two fetuses from artificial insemination, the zoo announced Wednesday.

If all goes well the pair will be born by mid-October, doubling Canada’s panda population, as the Conservatives proclaimed.

The party also couldn’t help but sneak an economic message into its panda posturing.

Harper’s balanced-budget plan would “ensure a consistent supply of bamboo and other treats for Er-Shun and Da Mao,” the Conservatives said.

Er Shun and Da Mao arrived from China in 2013 and are slated to move to the Calgary Zoo in 2018.

The babies, if they survive, will live at the zoo for about two years and will likely return to China once they are weaned from Er Shun."

Stick to being a dick steve-o, you're not that funny.

For me it grates every bone in my body that the cons....especially steve...can stand up in front of audiences...
and spew forth promise after promise....and even though the major campaign issue for steve in previous campaigns
was ACCOUNTABILITY for his government and all governments from the time he got elected forward....
Did they hold themselves ACCOUNTABLE....fast forward 12 years???? NOT A CHANCE for a matter of fact
The Progressive Conservatives....have been caught up in more scandals than any other previous government....to date
Yep they did...more damage than even Lyin Brian....if you can beleive that....
PM Chretien...wasn't anywhere close to being in the same criminal league....
I hope at least some of the brain washed.individuals...who have been screwed over by the current gov....that they voted for.....wake up.....for this election....stevie is loyal only to stevie...only...so you've been screwed.....

Well said.
The last line coincides with his arrogant panda promise. I honestly can't believe he has essentially taken credit for Pandas having babies that the Bears were having anyways. All on their own without a conservative there cutting the cord.

Sure, he may have been trying to be funny, but we know Steve. He probably does believe his party is solely responsible for pro creation.

Hey dingalings, it'll be LP weed. You guys are nuts thinking Justin's the answer:

"We will create new, stronger laws to punish more severely those who provide it to minors, those who operate a motor vehicle while under its influence, and those who sell it outside of the new regulatory framework."

So don't sell it then. That's part of the deal, regulation and taxes to stop the funding of organized crime through MJ.

Just like cigs or booze. Really it's a non issue unless that's how people are making money.

Personally I'd rather quit giving the idiot dealer I have any of my money, obtain it legally and not have to worry about new bracelets.

It's all good with me if its legal.

What if legal means going to the WeedCBO and paying a 2-3 times what that bad guy on the corner sells it for?

I'd happily pay extra to have the guarantee I wouldn't end up in one of the new Harpco hotels over a dime bag.

My freedom is priceless.

Besides, I'd grow my own and wouldn't sell it.

The way things are now, you would never see jail time for dime bag...so whats the point of legalization if only the chosen are allowed to grow it?

Only those who are licensed will be able to sell it. Just like tobacco or booze.
Growing mj will become like growing legal plants like potatoes.

They can't stop you from growing a plant that's legal, but they can prevent you from selling it without the proper licenses.

It's no different than booze, cigs, potatoes and carrots.

Right now we have manditory mins for growing 6 plants. Sure one court struck the law down but it's still on the books and has not been shot down by the SCOC. We also have laws that will get you bracelets over a dime bag, most cops do t want to enforce it but the Harper type cops are out there and will charge you just because their fucking dicks.

I'd be happy to see full legalization rather than decrim or the current laws in place.

Your making alot of assumptions there. Why do you assume with legalization, you will be able to grow your own? Even if your sick?
I strongly believe the MMPR is a model of Trudeau's legalization.
