How much of the NUTS do you use to drop the PH what amount approx ? Very interested in this. I also use MOAB with great success. I no longer use H&G but it was good stuff. I didnt like how much my PH dropped using it. I have had the best luck with my PH using GH MAxibloom powder along with Floralicious Plus. Drops my tap (7.7) to 5.4 then very gradually goes up to 6.9 after a full week if left untreated. Been having GREAT results with ZERO PH Adjustments. As others have said letting the PH fluctuate some is good and makes different nutrients more available.
For sure.....It is a good idea to let your ph drift from 5.5 to 6.5 before you lower it again......like you said.....letting the ph fluctuate makes different nutes available at different levels.........As for the NUTS......I just use as much as I need to lower ph... unless you are going way over the recommended dosage.....Although I haven't ever burned with it.....so ...maybe you can use more....Really helps in mid week when you wanna lower ph a bit and break down the existing nutes naturally.......Peace

Hey Raider.. If one was running an automatic top feed system to buckets full of coco what would be the proper way to use Top Booster? Apply for a full week? Apply only 2-3 days? Feed, water, feed, water, feed, water? I'm a little unclear as to the proper way to use it.

Sidenote: I think Canna is better than H&G. Stay tuned for a side by side.

I have run that exact top feed system with great success.....Just use Top Booster the last 4 days of week 5 on an 8 weeker.....I was feeding nutes on a daily basis and recycling the water....Are you running drain to waste?..............P.S. I have a friend who actually ran a side by side in coco with H&G and Canna....Said the results were similar....But he liked the H&G a little better.......and Canna was way more expensive to run.......Just a little info..........Peace

Yes, drain to waste on a 8 week variety.

Do you cut your base nutrients down when using the top boost?

I've done some pretty extensive testing and I keep getting slightly better results with Canna rather than H&G. The Canna just seems to produce slightly larger, denser, brighter, more aromatic, tastier w more trichs for some reason. It is slightly more expensive to run because of the Canna Boost (roughly $100/L).

As long as you see that 100 bucks coming back to you, I say it's all good. But you know Canna is a commission by House & Garden. Why would they make something for someone else that is better than their original secret recipe? It could possibly be user error that the H&G produces less..

Canna has nothing to do with H&G.....Although ....rumor has it that the one who created H&G worked for canna before.....

Yeah.... I usually make sure the total PPMs are below 800....so......usually the base nutes are cut in half......Peace

I use top booster for 5 days and I try to guess when I am about 5 weeks out. Just make sure to flush after the 5 days before adding the shooting powder. I am not sure about canna, but I have heard many boast other lines. However when comparing cost, ease of use, and overall results, I don't think I will be using another line. I have tried AN, Yellow Bottle Bloom, botinicare, and always come back to h&g. The only one one of these that I would use ove h&g is the yellow bottle line. It just isn't a good hydro line.. IMHO ofcourse. It slimes up pretty quick when it stays in the res for more than a couple days, but my buddy is running it and hand watering with great results.
I will be curious to hear your results with canna. I am sure you will bring the best out the line.

Now don't quote me on this one, but I'm fairly certain my local H&G rep had said otherwise. But I will ask over email if he'll tell me. Stand by for this one, he has taken up to 2 weeks to get back to me when/if he is touring.

.....Trust me.......Canna is in no way affiliated with House and Garden....Anyone who tells you different does not know the industry very well.............Peace

I'll take your word for it. But once I get a response maybe I can clear up these rumors around it, figure out wtf he was talking about. I'm sure the fact that everyone is stoned out of their gourd when they hear some facts doesn't help the rumors.

The lead scientist Van De Zwaan used to work for Canna, left them and started H&G. H&G is the only facility with it's own lab and really, Canna and H&G are damn near the same. I run H&G, my buddy runs Canna but both come out dank. IMO

"Before designing the House & Garden line of nutrients in 1990, William Van de Zwaan spent time developing other leading fertilizers in Holland, no doubt giving him the expertise he used to create the nutrients line he branded with his family name."

It was on the front page of the website. Lol. Shows how lazy we are. Bunch of stoners. It doesn't specify the fertilizer company that William previously worked for, but I think we have all pieced enough together here to figure out the puzzle.

Spot on Jozikins. They can't legally say what other brands he developed on their site, but as you said, we all know!
