Anyone find the need for cal mag in coco with there coco line?
Interesting you bring that up that’s why I’m on this thread. I have always used 5 ml calimagic and 5-6.5 ml of cocoa a b plus n boost first two weeks of flower at 1ml. I talked to ward at hng and he said drop the calmag and up the base up to 9.5ml on week 6. I love the finished product and yields are good but I would love to dial this line in better

What’s your ec if you don’t mind me asking? I also grabbed some calimagic because my water is very soft and I need a buffer

In coco I'm running

COCO A+B
MULTIZYME
DRIP CLEAN
Nitrogen (abt .75mL/L)
Roots Excelurator

in flower:
Bud XL from when flowers form
Top shooter from about week 6 or 7

I only add
Mammoth P
Great White

Keep My EC about 2.0 thru veg and 2.0 > 1.8 in flower. Only just got on top of pH but will try keep thay 5.8 all the way thru

I've ditched all the other H&G stuff on advice from reading and asking around. I don't use the amino treatment or algen extract or top booster. More than anything just trying to keep my res clean from gunky organics and the top booster has only ever cooked my plants but I can't tell if I was just always adding it too early

Does everyone find that airstones in general will always raise ph (seems to do so) and best to using a mixing pump?...I know a lot of people use the air stones to oxygenate fast is mixing pump just as effective to keep ph stable?

Absolutely yes. I did heaps of research and had posts shot down by people saying it was stupid to suggest airstones cause PH swings but as soon as I removed them my pH stopped rising and I don't have to adjust it at all

I know after calimagic I was just shy of 2 ec. Ward at house and garden may have been right I upped my ec to 1.8 with no calimagic just base nutes so far plants look good in veg. I found a house and garden schedule I’ve never seen before seems to make more sense. Higher ec more consistent through late veg and early to mid flower late flower base ec drops down and boosters added. This is what I will be running this round instead of usual schedule you see on their website.
